The 'lecture' Europe comment is a little patronising. Britian fought those same wars mentioned- WW2 and Korea (though not Vietnam) they mention. Also Britain's role in WW2 was as big as (it could even be construed bigger because the UK fought it from start to finish), or as equally important as the US's role was. It was a good speech by Obama, but less of the bullshit lecturing by Mathews would be preferable.
