i think Saffron does well to hold her own singing a track that was mostly samples...good for her for having a go live...not many could do it...anyway she soon showed us what she is capable of singing for replublica...!!!!
I think Saffron does a great job, and snaps to her for actually singing live here, but of course the original is not her but a great collection of samples. Hence the fact that tune is titled "Anthem" and not "I'm In Love With You" or "Won't You Love Me?" or some such. Much like "Theme From S'Express" is a collection of samples and not called "I've Got The Hots For You" or whatever...

As n-joi could obviously not hire said disco singers to perform with them live, they got the young Saffron to front the band and recreate the vocals.
She didn't do too badly for herself, if you've ever heard of a band called Republica...
It's the vocal high points in the song that really make it a classic but because it's a elecronically manufactured track she just cant recreate it live and steers away from singing all the words which really kills the mistique. This is from a program called "dancedaze" which was broadcast at the height of the whole "rave nation" thing, think the year was 1991. It also featured The Shamen, Adamski and other big names in dance music, and yes, it was awesome !!

actually I like the way she's singing. It's totally different from the studio version. The voice isn't pitched or something like that, they only added an echo. The only thing I don't like is that it's always the same way of singing... they could've used another bassline (?), insert an instrumental part or add some lyrics (for example: Saffron should have sung "True love can be hard to find" non-playback)...

This is from a program called "dancedaze" which was broadcast at the height of the whole "rave nation" thing, think the year was 1991. It also featured The Shamen, Adamski and other big names in dance music, and yes, it was awesome !!

actually I like the way she's singing. It's totally different from the studio version. The voice isn't pitched or something like that, they only added an echo. The only thing I don't like is that it's always the same way of singing... they could've used another bassline (?), insert an instrumental part or add some lyrics (for example: Saffron should have sung "True love can be hard to find" non-playback)...

yeah, you're right. I noticed it when I listened "One Love" and "Anthem". It couldn't be the same person singing.
