Recording studios first get the background music, thena dd vocals.

So there is no programming for this.

There really is no way to take out the vocals from a song unless you have the original project file.

well there is a way.

Music tends to be in Stereo and not to over generalise but singing is usually not panned, as it is not made stereo. If you play a track using only the very most stereo pan of it you can remove the vocals. That's why sometimes you can hear the vocals, those parts are stereo.

google it for more info, I only know the process and not exactly what is going on.

there is no specially program but any audio program can do it. it's simply a case of rewiring the stereo mix so that no audio from the central pan is played. Singing tends to be central on recordings, though this isnt the case for everything. that's why you can barely hear her singing still.
