alright but does this work if your toes are broken or if you get your arm dislocated? or perhaps a knife slash to the hand.. or fighting in glass? or fighting bruce lee
A couple of the higher ranks in this group got tricks but I really believe they should close the Roda and play a tighter game. This looks more like kicking in their general direction rather than a Roda. I understand that Regional tends to be the more expressive style where the Capoeistas are more likely to do tricks and that's good too. But I really believe that a Roda should be practiced in close quarters for proper kicking and simultaneous evasive action application.
if you are going to put a capoeira video KEEP THE ORIGINAL MUSIC FROM THE RODA!!!!!!!! manten la musica de la roda, de lo contrario pierde toda energia.
arkamfaith doesnt really no wat he is talking about.. not good in a street fight capoeira was used only in the streets to protect them selves from knives and batts, including more than one opponent so ur comment is unvalid because u clearly dont no wat street fight means!!! plus martial arts is a fighting style, but an all round one feet and hands. look at possibly the best mma fighter, Bass rutten who started his carreeer with kararte !!! capoeira shits on muay thai ill prove it,
learning a Martial art style is not how to fight, but more how to move and strike, throw a kick the wrong way, your likly to be flat on your butt if your fighting sum1 who know how to fight well. I started to learn Karate when i was 7, and after i got so many belts, I took other forms of Martial art to learn more. not saying these people can or cant fight, half of a fight is knowing how to come at your enemy and making it were he cant do anything.
why ppl talk crap about this wow i bet if you fight any of them your get ass kick and i bet your be i can kick they ass well you cant this is a styles and the rest of the crap to
Been looking at some capoeira sparring vids and it reminds me of twd...lots of flash, have yet to see much substance. Is there a capoeira fighting league?
you don't see contact because common sense says "why injure your fellow students so that you have nobody to train against in PUBLIC". if you ever see a class and a good Sao Bento grande game, you will see contact. grupo muzenza has a contact tournament. but we as capoeiristas don't have "leagues".
And yet, every other martial art has sparring at a less-than-amateur level. Sometimes people get dropped. Hell the thai's fight full contact at eight years old, competitively. Odd, no?
Granted, but how many stories are there about third degree black belts in Karate or Jiu Jitsu who end up getting taken to town by some thug because they never took those shots to the face and when it really happened they flinched, instinctively. Like Tyson said: "You never know yourself until you fight". Learning to fight in terms of practicality is by no measure a bad idea.
true dat...also because theyre used to fighting people in their own styles and therefore when some1 on the street who doesnt do martial arts attacks them theyre not used to the technique and are therefore pwned
good point. Martial arts itself doesn't make you a good fighter necessarily. There are martial arts for self defense and martial ti fight and some combine. Plenty of martial artist out there that can't fight and plenty that can. A good fighter has good instincts and when trained because a skilled fighter. Never know if someone can fight until they fight. Not all capoeiristas can fight, but the ones that can are very dangerous.
I agree. There are a lot of people who see a lousy capoeirista and think that Capoeira as a whole is a waste of time. It is actually a very dangerous style in the right hands...err...feet.
all martial-arts dose is help you polish your skill's while fighting!
there is no one style that beats all the rest and most martail0artist can't really hold up in a street fight....just cause you know something dose'nt make you a great fighter!
I support what Tyson saing. I am training capoeira myself. Have trainng Karate. But with same couses. If you are trained like a capoeirista, you will be no match against a muay thai fighter in a muay thai ring. But if you is a muay thai fighter, you will be no match in a roda:-P. It all depend on the person and the rules, or less of rules.
Wow I didnt of this contemporânea style if you could explain to me that form of Capoeira It would greatly appreciated. I already know that Angola is more traditional and slow and Regional is fast and more acrobatics so yeah It kinda blew my mind when I found out about another style.
its not really a style as it is not officially recognized by the capoeira community. its more of a way of playing with more floreio, but its not a "style". angola and regional are the only offical styles.
Man! Great video. Capoeira has some of the meanest spin kicks. I glad to see you know the history of the art, and you share the knowlegde...I should do that...I probably won't (lazy bum). Who sings the song please.
i would have rather heard the rhythmic clapping & intruments then this gay song

Nice action, but the music sucked. Would have been better to have it with some Brazilian or African music instead.

it takes more skill and control to be able to not hit and injure sum1 (and no that u can) than actually hitting someone
