They beat Bon Jovi into the preverbial cocked hat this man is bloody amazing, and as for the phrase Hair Rock they have that and all.But their main acheivemnet in pure bloody talent and so damn underated. They Rock and Rule.
Just pure class. Bob and the boys should've been huge but they're still total showmen - Harry's fitted in really well on the skins and they still rock just as hard as ever. Thanks for posting :0)
I can never find the Wings of Heaven version of this song - the slightly longer, live-but-almost-sounds-like-a-studio-cut version. It has that realy nice instrumental ending that isn't on any other version. *Tears hair out with irritation*
Ur right themighty6 - Bob Catley such a voice - and Magnum as a whole totally underrated one of my fav bands when I was growin up with rock and of course am 40yrs old now but still lovin it all - cheers my friend. And I see we are closing in on the 20000 mark!
@decdevlin yes thanks im 33 now and m brother who is 40 used to play them, so thats how i got to know them, i will try and find some more of there vid's too. oh and yes the 20.000 is coming.
oh my god heard this last night listening to an internet radio station.how well does this stand up compared to other stuff released at the same time.well overdue for a re-release.pertinent too, cutbacks, banking scandals arab spring etc
one of the best bands in the world. i saw them live in manchester last thursday with my dad and we went in their dressing room and i was just sat there, i was so nervous, i couldn't speak :') and on my way out bob hugged and kissed me and i said you're amazing! and he stroked my face and went 'thank you baby' i walked out of the room and burst out crying! aha then i sat on their tour bus for abitttt. best night of my life.
@kevseabass maybe they did, they should of been so so so big world wide, some one should make a movie of their lives, pf how they where almost massive
So bloody underated but so damn good. This country does not recognise damn good talent they prefer twits that sound like they are stuck in my granny's mangle,This is bloody brilliant.Bob rules.
@englishsandy you're completely right, and I cannot understand why MAGNUM are not considered the best Melodic Rock band EVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER !!!!!!!!!!!!
The best band ever - love them always have since 14 - now 43 - just need some guy on x factor to sing one of their songs (like Journey) think its great but also makes me mad.......... rock on magnum..... seen you guys live about 20plus times met you at Preston Guild Halls on Vigalante tour - what a blast.........lotsa love...xx
Remember goin to see them at the Glasgow Barrowland on this tour and them annoucing to the crowd that the song had just entered the uk top 40! The place went ballistic...dont even think the album had been released then.
Ok, there are some things I need to add. I remember when this single came out (including the great B-side track "Maybe tonight") shortly before the album "Wings of heaven". From that moment on, I was a fan of Magnum more than of any other band ever before or after in my life. I grew up in a room full of Magnum posters and picture disks on the wall, stickers on my jeans jacket, collecting everything related to this band that reminds me of my teenage years more than anything else in the world.
i just ordered rock art, didn't even know they had done that album until the other day, heard some samples, it sounds like a good album.....had positive reviews anyway :)
I might bump into youat the next London gig??? We can buy each other drinks...
I have bought some other albums, mainly live ones as that's where Magnum are in their element.
You know, they wrote great tracks in the 80s focusing on feel and passion when every other guitarsit/drummer/lead singer etc... was wanking off on technical flash and crap.

They seemed to be on the edge of global pehnomenan. Goodnight LA was OK but not quite the same grade as Wings.

yeah, bob's great, saw magnum years ago at birmingham city hall as well, 1990 i think, it was the goodnight l.a. tour, i was only 17,lol, should have been huge really, and i think had the grunge scene not come along, i reckon they would have been bigger!
This song just makes me feel good when im down, Good times, never forget
