Hmm the interpretation is your own so i wont say anything about that part. Your piano might be tuned a whole note down from normal pianos, which would explain why it sounds different lol.

It wasnt! I play it from sheets, and that is my piano which sounds differently from the original. If I played it from ear it it would sound like the original, but then I would have to transposed it to another key. That's my 125 years old piano..

I know it from sheets, so this is the right key (well, at least on the paper:)

But on my piano every key is shifted, so when I play from sheets it sounds weird:/ So-I play some other Yann Tiersens melody from ear, and it sounds like original, but.. looks weird:P (I play using not the keys that have been written in scores:)
