@Fishyboy1998 What do you need help with? If your tank is small and the niger is already being aggressive, it would be a bad idea to add a similar sized and shape fish that would be competing for food. If you've got a decent sized tank (150 gallons or larger) you can add another trigger but I'd add one either a couple inches smaller or larger than the current one.
@samubabe101 There is a lot of organics in the water, I feed way too much for what the sump can keep up with. I have a large skimmer, an AquaC 250 I believe which is rated for a larger tank than what I have, but I feed a LOT of meat and seaweed. I do small weekly and large monthly water changes to help keep the water cleaner.
@samubabe101 I've actually sold the tank now, so I dont have any fish in there. I have a small, 40g tank with just a fish or two that's very easy to maintain and clear. I'm looking at buying/building a house in the next year or so, then I'm going to build a nice big tank in wall and have excellent filtration so I can stock it heavily but still have good clean water.
@Mezico AWESOME IM IN THE PROCESS OF RUNNING MY SUMP RO AND SKIMMER TO MY BASEMENT AS MY WIFE DOES NOT LIKE THE EQUIPMENT OUT IN THE OPEN WHERE THE KIDS CAN GET INTO IT.
JUST GOT A DAILYSEAS RO So THAT WILL HELP WITH TOP OFF AND BRINE ADDITION.
@samubabe101 I built a nice cherry stand for my tank that was virtually soundproof and ran all my equipment right in my living room underneath the tank. The worst part about that is you have to do your water changes and maintenance right in the middle of the living room, so if you have your stuff in the basement that will be great, you can do all that stuff down there.
The funny thing is the fish are actually pretty gentle with me. I put my hand into there a lot to move around rocks lately, because I'm in the process of removing the sandbed. So far they havent even acted aggressive at me, the worst the puffer does is get real close to my fingers so I pull them out of the way. Some of the triggers come out and circle my arm but they dont act like they are going to bite, they are just watching to see what is going on.
Ok thanks my Niger isn't aggressive he is a really nice fish and docent bother anybody in my reef
