This dog is not doing any workouts. Its only doing what it was trained to do. Dogs dont have any concept of physical fitness or 'working out'. Stupid humans.Animals do not have the ridiculous concepts we have. Just because we do something does not mean that dogs or other animals are doing the same thing.

Trained behavior or not, the dog *IS* getting exercise!

Atop that, the dog is getting human interaction, and is using its mind at the same time it's using its body. This is not a particularly natural motion, though *well* within a dog's physical capacity. Seeing as this is a Border Collie, or at least is most likely one, the mental and physical exercise are doubly important.

Smart dog...when the dog gets tired he finds a wall or playground equipment to put his back against to give him support.

Hopefully he will have such strong muscles that he will have enough shock absorption so he will never have problems with his hips. I wonder if that would work.

Maybe we should teach dogs prone to hip problems to do these squats.

Is there any research out there on this? Anyone know the answer?
