I sat playing this on my netbook at a friend's house. His young son sat next to me and was glued to it. I controlled the movement and healing, he just shot things, his face lit up when we killed the dragon at the end of Forest.
I highly recommend getting on the SCHThack servers, might have to go through their forums to get the client set-up, but it's worth the time, this game runs on anything and is lots of simple fun.

Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as the Phantasy Star series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
Oh God I miss this soundtrack. Those were some good days kickin' ass with my HUcast armed with only my trusty 4 swords Sange,Yasha,Kamui and of course the bad ass Orochiagito.
Great song, great game. I still play it today. In fact, by the time this comment is posted, I'll be back to playing it. I just wanted a little ambiance music instead of the creepy cave music while I slay shark-men. Good Job.
You can still play PSO on your computer for free, online. Just google SCHThack, real easy. Also, PSO2 was just announced at TGS, and it looks to be a true successor of PSO, unlike PSU.
Ah, the memories... 300+ hours into this game, only so low because my GC broke about a year ago. My second game ever, and my favorite. Thank you for uploading this.
also, are you serious about the GC version being $80 used? I have 2 copies, so i lend my second to my friends to get them started on the best series ever.
It varies. I've seen people sell "collectibles" for 50 bucks. They usually sell around 50 bucks used/collectible and around 90 for new. New can get up to 160 sometimes, and people buy 'em. >_>
@P10NE3R1111 I ran up well over 900+ hrs on the game... I had not played PSO in 8 yrs, but now im back to playing PSOBB on the private server blueburstserv(dot)com.
The game's available for the PC for free. Since SEGA stopped supporting it, private servers have been made available and they're actually a lot better than when SEGA was running them.
If you're interested, lemme know. I'll send ya a link to where you can check it out.
Sega stole my money using PSU and wont let me cancel! Spread the word peoples money are in danger

Does anyone know where this remix is from or where I can get an MP3? It's not on any of my soundtracks!

So much time invested into the game...
I played through from beginning to end on the Dreamcast's run, I played through some of the GameCube and now I occasionally play it on the PC.

I should probably get into Phantasy Star, I got a couple friends who play it online via Dreamcast emulation.
sshinra 2 years ago
Definitely should. :) I not a big fan of emulators, though.

Sure thing, I'm always interested in playing something new on my PC since I had to temporarily abandon my consoles.

Yeah, I was surprised at how much better the private servers were.
