AIR is a eroge game. The anime is a much softer adaptation of the game. Story is the same though (but the end is very different from the game ending XD)

The anime versions art style for this isn't bad at all, but its not as good as Clannad or Kanon's. Though your right about the art styles in the games... they just don't look right, and they all pretty much have the same exact face. lol.

Those have terrible art styles as well. The only thing of seemingly good quality is the story, which seems to be mindblowingly good for all three. I just hate those tiny too-high mouths and the downs-syndrome eyes.

As for the face, it's a common dating sim technique. The characters are all pretty much stamped on to a single base.

No I don't agree, the Kyoto animation animes have a good art style in my opinion, plus they're well animated and colored. Their eyes aren't down syndrome either. What kind of anime art styles do you actually like? I've found Kyoanimation to be one of the best all around with their anime's.

Yes they are. Take a picture of a normal big-eyed shoujo and compare it to the eye style of those three series. The eyes slant, and they don't seem to have any sides. The space between them is enough to raise an eyebrow. The mouth is small and high up enough to be considered inhuman. I could photoshop the mouth down and make the art look at least slightly bearable. he animation and coloring, not to mention the detailed lineart, is also impressive, to take note, but still.

Honestly I only see the funny eyes in Airs anime, and then its mostly only Mizuzu or however you spell her name. She always looked funny to me. But the other eyes aren't bad. And really, anime isn't supposed to look like real people. They look cute they way they're drawn. Plus many anime have high drawn mouth characters. and if you think kyotoani draws funny eyes check out "Ai yori Aoshi". I mean heck, look at dragon ball Z's art style. their mouths drawn closed are RIGHT under their noses.

Kyotoanimation has a cute style. They all look adorable. They're not supposed to look real, they're anime characters. Plus some people in real life actually have higher up set mouths. And really, if you think they look awful you should go to your local walmart and just look at people. Reality as a whole isn't any prettier.

Also, the slanted eyes... that comes from the fact that anime characters are based off asian people....... Who not only have slanted eyes but.... higher set mouths... Yea of course not as extreme as in anime. But that's where it comes from.

Asian eyes slant towards the centre of the face in the inner sides only. Kyotoanimation eyes slant away from the center in the entirety. I don't recall asian mouths being higher up, but rather the face set being somewhat rounder.

Also the fact that it's famous for the 'fisheye' effect. The amount of space between the eyes is unsettling.

....... You know, I'm done arguing with you, its ANIME, its not supposed to look REAL. Kyoto animation is renowned for its art style and no one else seems to have a problem with it. If you don't like the way it looks, stop watching the animes they make. They are not supposed to look like real people. Anime and realistic don't go together. Its animated DRAWINGS. Not real people. Plus that art style is more "attractive" and "appealing" to look at than more than half of real people in this world.

Yes, actually being able to draw a character to look exactly like an original is skill. They pay people to do that you know, because they have multiple people making animes. Drawing and animating the characters etc. And if they didn't look spot on like one another they wouldn't be paid for that job. And are you getting paid for your terrible drawing an animation? No. But they are, so they in fact have more worth and skill than you do.
