  • Scrubs not only brought us smiles and happiness, it brought us a meaning that we could all relate to at some point in lives. It also brought us wonderful music that puts a true smile on your face.

  • it was not scrubs that brought me here...but i dont care where you all came from to get here, we all know that its a wonderful song :)

  • Lol Chris Leben UFC 138 is the first time i heard gary jules.....He has an awesome sound to him.

  • Gotta admit it, Scrubs brought me here :)

  • Thumps up if... Oh wait... That's not why Im here... Im not here for something or someone else, Im here for Gary Jules.

  • I got here because Gary Jules would be my crush if I were female or homosexual :D

  • @FrostyElephant Gary Jules is my crush anyway. Females and homosexuals can go fuck themselves. >:)

  • @Trowa71 Good to know..?

  • Pff, I just randomly found this song and thought "Man, this sounds like it'd be from Scrubs....DEAR GOD IT IS!"

  • and also gary jules is the best songwriter ever i mean mad world is boss

  • @shadowtrooper911 he didn't write mad world, he covered it, but i agree with you all of his other songs are still pretty amazing.

  • Is it possible to click on a video without a reference to pop culture? ...fucking christ people, get a goddamn life outside of mass media

  • @stp52x get a life outside of mass media, says the guy posting on a YOUTUBE forum...thats hypocrisy and irony mixed into one. I call it hypocriny.

  • @kpweaver27

Yes this is definitely a form of mass media, I'm not denying that. But I don't spend 5 hours a day watching youtube videos, whereas the average american watches 5 hrs of television a day: blog(dot)nielsen(dot) com/nielsenwire/online_mobile/americans-watching-more-tv-than-ever/

It'd be hypocrisy (and therefore irony) if my life revolved around youtube (as many people's lives revolve around the television set), if I made remarks in daily life referring to mindless youtube videos.

  • “I guess I came over here to tell you how proud of you I am. Not because you did the best you could for those patients... but because after 20 years of being a doctor, when things go badly, you still take it this hard. And I gotta tell you man, I mean, that’s the kind of doctor I want to be.”

  • gary jules i love this, ive been living underground and your words progress my pursuit of knowledge, truth , and understanding. its the little things that this nation needs to get to a better light. people with wisdom need to speak out, sing out, and laugh out the real words they know. :D thank you

  • "I guess I came over here to tell you how proud of you I am. Not because you did the best you could for those patients... but because after 20 years of being a doctor, when things go badly, you still take it this hard. And I gotta tell you man, I mean, that’s the kind of doctor I want to be."

  • this song is OK. Ilistened to mad world due to a video game. and he seems like sutch a pedo-bear, in the video. but the song makes you kinda melt when you listen to it. not this krock of shit, the song seemed ok at the start now it sucks. BURN IT SEND IT TO HELL

  • This is music. Stop complaining about Rebecca Black and listen to Gray Jules.

  • Everyone who is arguing with another just stop. There is no point to arguing on the Internet. Just sit back and listen to the music, that's why we are watching this video in the first place right?

  • @pyroboy1 Triple thumbs up if I could my friend. Youtube has one of the worst communities on the net. Arguments and flame wars everywhere. Very easy to be a big man behind a keyboard. Nice to see a friendly comment from people such as yourself occasionally :)

  • Sorry, didn't mean to post twice.

  • A lot of truth in this song.

  • <3 this song

  • very mature both of you.

  • @Pinocchio991 Sadly, those guys make up most of the internet : |

  • Listen to my cover of Mad World in my channel. Thanks!

  • Scrubs has the best music, colin hay, gary jules, the shins, death cab for cutie, early coldplay before they went all mainstream, cary brothers. Rock on, jules.

  • The old Myspace brought me here.

  • @yeahtoast22 and your telling us why?

  • @DjMagm4 Because scrubs didn't bring me here. Why do you care and who is "us"?

  • @yeahtoast22 "us" is everyone looking at these comments

  • @DjMagm4 You mean even those people who were saying scrubs didn't bring them here?

  • @yeahtoast22 yup, if scrubs did bring them here they dont need to know other people who are the same

  • @DjMagm4 Shouldn't you be over your period by now?

  • @yeahtoast22 nah im a boy sorry

  • @DjMagm4 Suuuure you are.

  • @yeahtoast22 judging by the way me and your mum got on last night i think i am

  • @DjMagm4 Oh, so you're not only just a little boy but an idiot also. Gotcha.

  • thumbs up if scrubs didnt bring you here

  • This song shall be played at my funeral, cause it through Scrubs, reminds me of my own depression.

  • @aabel93 scrubs plays this song?

  • @aabel93 haha nope but i am watching scrubs right now

  • @aabel93 Scrubs brought me so many songs.

Scrubs was.....simply amazing, its moments like this, that shows that Scrubs can be a deep and meaningful show, especially the bit with Dr.Cox fighting to save his Kidney Patient with The Fray playing.

  • @BensoftMedia me too

  • @aabel93 Probably one of the best episodes they've done at that.

  • @aabel93 i want to say thats lame but atleast people are finding out about beautiful good music

  • I usually don't post comments on youtube cause everyone for some reason crucifies you for spreading love of a song but, God I love how every single person on a Gary Jules vid is cool and relaxed... but how could you not be with this guy huh? Anyway thanks to 1Smile2me for all the uploads... seriously, thanks and peace. ;)

  • Beautiful song...

  • This song is very Beautiful it makes me cry

  • where is he from?

  • Type in Google "Gary Jules" :p

  • In Scrubs, or when JD wents to see Dr. Cox to make him feel better.

Great episode, written by the actor who plays Dr Cox, John C. Mcgincley.

    Really good song !

  • They never tell you truth is subjective, they only tell you not to lie... ♥

    So true.

  • Anyone got full tabs for this?

  • @lukenluken

    type into google ... :)

  • I love his songs. They really mean something, not like the ones from the millions of other singers with lyrics, which have absolutely no sense.

  • reminds me of scrubs! great song

  • This song couldn't be more true.

  • all of his songs make me dwell so much on life. i don't know if that's good or bad because i kinda do that a lot anyways...

  • This song makes me cry ;S But i love it...

  • por favor alguien que tradusca esta cancion siento que es hermosa pero no se que dce... ayudarme!!

  • I love Gary Jules, I saw him open for Todd Rundgren in annopolis Md. a few yrs. back. His father was present that night. Very special ......Love NC moutains too.

  • good for tears for fears and good also for gary jules, they both did a great job..

  • great stuff, only just discovered it, i want more, takes me back in time.

  • <3 !!!

  • This song is special to me because I learned how to play it (the CORRECT way, finger-picking and all!) by myself without tabs.

A very sweet, and soft song with a very nice melody.

  • @rafjo82 did you use the tabs that are up in Ultimate Guitar archive, or where did you find em.

I really like this song, and I started replaying my scrubs DVDs and watched the scene with it, and made me melancholic of the old scrubs days.

  • who cares if mad world isnt his song. He made it more popular than what tears for fears ever made it. Gary Jules took a good song and made it even better than the original. That is doing a lot

  • Like Johnny Cash did with 'Hurt'... Sorry NIN fans

  • Johnny Cash was a great artist, an awesome musician and a living legend, who has now sadly passed (RIP Johnny), but his cover of 'Hurt' really did fail to live upto the standard of the NIN original - I personally think it was more a reflection of his state of life/mind at the time than of his true musicial genius - Rgds 1 of many NIN fans

  • @JayWood2010 That would be true, if it weren't for the fact that it ain't exactly the truth. Gary Jules sings on it, and it appears on his album "Trading snakeoil for wolftickets". But all of the arrangements are by Mike Andrews, and the only reason it appears on "Trading snake oils ---" is because MIKE LET HIM DO THAT! So it's not a Gary Jules-song, it's a Mike Andrews/Gary Jules-song.

  • @JayWood2010 Nothing can be better than the original cauz you cant make a thing better that was perfect for the original composer to himself. He created it perfect for himself, you cannot make it better.

  • @DeatgMagnet Thats an opinion

  • @JayWood2010 Agreed but the poetry of the song had to come from somewhere and it wasn't Jules. Credit has to given wherever it due. I think Jules gave Mad World emotion. Something that got lost in the original despite beautiful lyrics.

  • @JayWood2010 When you've heard his version, you just cannot go back to Tears for Fears. You just can't!!!

  • @JayWood2010 people its music why argue

  • @micahh182 why do you say people but point out me alone? Maybe because you have no clue what the conversation was about or even if it was an argument. Why do I say that? Because I made that comment a year ago and I'm pretty sure you didn't go to the comments that were posted a year ago.

  • @micahh182 why do you say people but point out me alone? Maybe because you have no clue what the conversation was about or even if it was an argument. Why do I say that? Because I made that comment a year ago and I'm pretty sure you didn't go look at the comments that were posted a year ago.

  • @JayWood2010 Man, this isn't Mad World, so take a breath, relax and enjoy this beautiful song :)

  • @Gproducshizz I loved it

  • germanga89 is right, I mean google / search in youtubfor Mad World, who do you find first, Tears for Fears's or Gary Jule's version?

That pretty much is all you can say to that topic, because it doesn't matter who wrote the song, but who sings it the way that people want to listen it...

And his cover is in the movie "Donnie Darko" so evryone that watched the movie and realy understood it just has to love the song xD

but who cares who wrote the song, we all love the same song!

  • although gary jule's version is more popular and some people would say sound better (including me) tears for fears are the artists behind this amazing song and you can't underrat them.

the song writer is very important there are some bands who became huge because there song writing and less because their vocals!!

  • Yeah you've got a point there. I think both did a great job. Tears for fears made a wonderfull song, Gary Jules an incredible cover. They work as a team in a kind of way :P

Well who cares, we all love the songs so let's just be happy and listen to it xD

Ps: For evryone that likes the song, you should realy check out the movie "Donnie Darko" wich is incredible. The song realy fits in it, even tho it was the second choice.

  • well yeah but most credits really should go to the real creator.. Thats the person who did all the work

  • wel yeah he should be credited for a great cover but i hate when people dont give song writers their due. i mean tears for fears put a hell of a lot of work into that and its a spark of their creative rights and came up with it out of nothing by themselves and no one cares anymore cuz its just a song that exists, not a piece of art that took a lot of time to think of and create and pollish

  • Yeah you've got your point, they clearly did EXELENT work by writing such a song.

  • the music makes me feel sad and happy at the same time :S

  • yes...me 2

    a kind of Nostalgic to...

He's songs can really change the way I feel.

  • gary jules is amazing his songs are the best (mad world) GO GARY JULES

  • mad world is not his song

  • do you know who does the original verson? I can't find it anywhere... :*(

  • Comment removed

  • No, I found out that Tears for Fears made the song first, in the 80's

  • oh, wait, I was talking about Mad World... I clicked on the wrong song. lol my bad.

  • tears for fears

  • who cares, he made it his, the original is horrible

  • mad worlds not his song

  • so damn nice Intro!

  • makes me stop and realize how fast life goes by......kinda depressing:(

  • amazing song though :)

  • @cookesmakemetyprbad2 life isnt that short aha cheer up :D things are only bummin when you think about it or let it bum you, just be patient and keep an open mind and observe without thinking just doing cause curiosity just leads to insanity, life is simple just enjoy hope i made you happier:)

  • what album is this song on?
