  • PS: How does one pronounce Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau? Could you give me an English-lingo phonetic spelling, please? And why is LLANELLI pronounced Clan Ettlie? THANKS AGAIN.

  • @squirell1952 saysomethinginwelsh (com) awesome site

  • @3tangle3 - DEAR TANGLE: Sorry I cannot say anything in the language of Wales. Or, to be more precise, the oldest surviving language (with Greek!!) in Europe! All i can say is ... yackky da!!

    regards, dublin.

  • @squirell1952 yacky da is the english taking the piss....dont say it like that in wales or u get bad looks....being irish will spare you maybe :P ;) ;) .... iechyd da

  • PART 2 to GRIFF CATS: Could you imagine if Terry Wogan became PM of England? Oh, in seconds thoughts, let us not imagine it!! Let us stick to Anthony Hopkins, shall we? But will HE ever renounce his affiliation with England after accepting that horrible KNIGHTHOOD from the Queen of England? He IS "Sir" Anthony, is he not? Even Selwyn Froggett would have rejected it!

    REGARDS, DES, DUBLIN, SAT-OCT-16-2011.

  • Da iawn Cor Rehoboth!

  • From one Celt to another, thanks for a beautiful video to accompany a LOVELY anthem. With the German anthem, yours is also my favourite. One thing, t hough. Over here in Southern Ireland, most of us don't even know that the UK Premier who divided our c ountry was ...... Welsh!! Because he lived in No. 10, we automaticallly assume he was ..... English!! Anglo-Welsh, no doubt, even though he spoke Welsh daily.!! Anyway, bye for n ow.

    JUNE 1, 2011.

  • @squirell1952 Sad to say, yes, David Lloyd George was 100 percent Welsh, there was nothing English about him. He was a complicated man from the Mountains of North Wales, and those were complicated times. He had poor advice about Ireland even though he had contacts there that should have known better. There have been a few Welshmen to run England, Henry the seventh was another.

  • @griffcats - Dear Griff: I knew Lloyd George was Welsh and PM of ENGLAND AND COLONIES!! But I never knew Henry 7 was also from Cymru! How many more Welsh people were Kings, Queens, Premiers of England? And those Tudors we tend to call English ... were they not Welsh originally??? Then they probably EMIGRATED to England eventually. By the way, did you know that the Duke of Wellington was Irish and one of those Dukes became PM of England? Bet you didn't know that, me boyo!! ? (PART 1).

  • @squirell1952 he may has split the country but that was the fault of whoever let those settler plantations happen!! he wanted to give ireland freedom unlike many previous english premiers

  • @squirell1952 welsh are the old cultural brits

  • Perfformiad y chantorion yw rhagorol - da iawn i bob un! A da iawn Rhisiart ap Gruffydd am dy video. Pum ***** seren. There was faultlessly clear pronunciation and good balance but still one was able to hear some excellent voices. As good as any native choir and better than most.

  • Cymru am Byth!!

  • Many years ago a friend took me to the Arms Park for a rugby match against England. Every single Welsh person there sung this glorious song and the hairs stood up on my Chinese neck.

  • Ive never seen Wales at Arms Park, but we sing it at our gymanfa and Eisteddfodau over here and it sounds fantastic with a hundred singing, let alone 50,000

  • Da Iawn! Cymru am Byth!

  • Da iawn! Côr gwych yn canu'r anthem genedlaethol.
