  • I like how orangefield says "saying nonsense on YouTube won't do anything" Yes. He said that on YouTube. Do not hate the patriots. Pity them.

  • Great video. Thank you very much!

  • "becoming a theocracy" ??

Stefbot, assuming you are referring to Christianity,

this implies that a nation that was not notably

of the Christian faith now is becoming so.

America was founded by people who

are now described as fundamentalist Christians. Are you going to deny the nose

    on your face next?

  • how stupid can you be to give back such a stupid comment to this video. The guy clearly is thinking very open minded and logical and is not saying even a single hateful or "conspiracy" style of thing. It is out of your uneducation that you say something like that. Don't make yourself look foolish.

  • i really do think Mahmoud is too smart to be believe in fairy tales.. (religion)

  • How do you know?

  • i there is a good chance that a politician, who needs a certain amount of intelligence, would not be religious.

religion is used as a tool for politicians, to sway the masses.

i remember when Putin visited Iran, before the meeting the played the Azan (muslim prayer song) and it was Hilarius as putin sat there, with his head on his hands, pretending to pray.

that was just a show for the iranian people.

  • An elected official doesn't need "a certain amount of intelligence." If a large portion of the population are genuinely religious, then some of those religious people will also become politicians, and they will have voter support because they are religious.

  • your cockiness will get us killed

the president of iran said in his speeches, we will kill america, kill the jews, true story in his own words,

but this hypocritical nonsense, where no one cant do anything because everyones wrong, and everyones a hypocrite, will get us killed

  • Right, so as an anarchist, the problem of state aggression rests with me.

Check. I'll get right on it.

  • probably why you will never be able to wage a war,

full of philosophy, actions speak louder than words, saying nonsense on youtube doesnt do anything

and if you ever check your videos, they are always disagreeing and negative

how about coming up with positive solutions,

    lol

  • orangefield1 - So what do you propose as the solution?

  • @orangefield1 May I ask when you learned to speak Farsi????????? Just keep on beliveing what the jews are feeding you.

  • @orangefield1 Where did you get the idea that Mahmood said he will kill ... please send me the line of the video in which he said that. I have watched most of his videos and he has always talked of peace with the world. Please send me your sources.

  • So Iran is not a real problem. Great analysis.

  • In terms of your political views and biases, you share a lot more in common with the far left than you do with anybody else who is observing what Iran is doing.

  • qtronman - It is intellectually cowardly of you to engage in name calling. How about you provide evidence for your point of view.

  • Evidence for the fact that the far left opposes war on virtually every ground? That they morally equate deaths of war in Iran with Americans killed by terrorist attacks? It's necessary for me to provide evidence of this?

  • I think you're confusing my point of view with my identification of similarities between stefbot's point of view and the point of view of people on the left.

  • bravo for a refreshing dose of truth.

ps i found you from freedom radio pod casts

glad to see you on you tube also. listening from the UK

  • great video, once again, by our good friend to the north :-)

  • Thanks Thor, a god who is even to the north of me I think! ;)

  • I agree with the overall point here, but it seems in just a couple of your moral arguments, you're treating countries and governments as autonomous individuals. How does it follow that the American government is hypocritical if their current stance is against nuclear proliferation, but they used nuclear weapons in the past? I think it's safe to say that no one who made the decision to bomb Japan is currently in the American government, so how could they possibly be held responsible?

  • But it is claimed as a universal principle, no?

  • I don't really understand what you mean. Yes, they hold it as a universal principle, but none of them are the ones who bombed Japan. You could say they're hypocrites if they defend the bombing of Japan, which a lot of them do, but not because people they had nothing to do with did it in the past.

  • mate you said it like it is.......if only americans could just see how immoral their government really is and hypercritical they are!!!

  • Have you ever considered going on a television debate?

You might do really awesome. You should try to get on one maybe. What do you think?

  • I will definitely buy #2 too, is it out?

  • Soon, in a week or two - and thanks! :)

  • please do more current events videos

  • You really have a way with words. You call Judaism mythical nonsense?

  • Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism.... ALL mythical nonsense to me. And I have the right to believe so... as much as they have the right to believe not so. All of a sudden Atheist have no rights for their beliefs?

"So if you've got enough naivety and you've got conviction.... then the answer is perfect for you"

  • As a fellow atheist, I say: Amen, brother! :)

  • Never said, lets see, Yep Never said you had no right to what you want to think or say. Your not communicating with a kid. I served 14 months in Vietnam. Almost died a lot of times. I served my country. Did you?

  • Even more sad to know. That you were there to see the mistakes, and yet you dont have the sense to refuse these same mistakes. Realize that a group of human beings... namely politicians asked you to join an illegitimate war.. You didnt fight for your country.. you fought for your politicians. And maybe the only way you can live with yourself is to deny what is the mad truth. You are a victim. Not a hero. And the U.S. would have been just as prosperous without the war.

  • hypocritical nonsense? What does that mean? We are the most powerful and the most generous country in the world.

  • Whats this WE crap? You don't speak for me. Go watch some Fox news.

  • Miket1m4

You are not responsible for this powerful and generous country. You're blindness would flourish in a totalitarian society. You are a blind follower of all things patriotic, and such a concoction no doubt would have made you a great spineless enforcer if in fact we lived in a totalitarian state.

  • We lost 4000 boys on the shores of Normandy on the first day of the invasion to liberate the European who were under the heels of the Nazi Regime. Today they put Swastikas on our flag and burn it and chant "down with America" "Death to America."

  • Dont hide behind the boys at normandy. Its manipulative, insulting and disgraceful. They didnt die so that corporate men in suits can profit in the future from illegitimate wars.

  • Is that another one of your facts... Europeans saying "Death to America"????

  • But why do they do it? Maybe it is because the CIA overthrew the Iranian government in the 1950s and installed the brutal Shah. After installing the Shah, America succeeded in controlling 60% of Irans oil. Let's say Mexico overthrew the US government then turned around and said that it owned 60% of the oil in Texas. Would Americans be happy about this, or would they burn Mexican flags in the streets?

  • How dare you use the term "moral righteousness" when it comes to the situation of that madman visiting the 9/11 site. We lost 3000 innocent Americans on that day for no reason. We were not in Iraq at that time. He wanted to go there to place a wreath in memory of the fallen martyrs. The idiot murderers who flew the hijacked planes into our towers. The comments you made, seemed to make light of the attacks on our country

  • What about the 500,000 iraqis murdered in the 1990s during the US-led sanctions? Why is the life of an American more valuable than the life of an Iraqi?

In the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, the administration of U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower orchestrated the overthrow of the democratically-elected administration of Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh and his cabinet from power.

  • "Why is the life of an American more valuable than the life of an Iraqi?"

Because Saddam Hussein, among other Arab political leaders who typify the brutal value-premises that dominate the Middle East generally, are rather indifferent to the root causes of human suffering, misery, and death. Consequently, death is what they get. You could have asked the same question about German Nazis in 1945, only you would be less likely to get away with calling them "innocent."

  • If you haven't figured it out, we don't live under a one-world DRO. Come back in a 1000 years.

  • Absolute Bull Mike...

FACT: Neither Iran or Iraq had anything to do with 911. It is an ignorant person such as yourself who generalizes an entire region. A group called Al-Qaeda led by Bin Laden (a Saudia Arabian) within taliban were responsible for 911. Manipulative factions with a different agenda have easily convinced you that sovereign countries like Iran\Iraq were somehow responsible when the truth is both Iran and Iraq had been fighting the Taliban long before the U.S.

  • Your problem is.. you think you know everything. Try something different. Tell me why we should be in Iraq? Your so intelligent, intelligent people have open minds, am I right? Lets do some critical thinking here. Tell me why we SHOULD be in Iraq

  • Im not going to have an open minded discussion with someone who doesnt even admit the facts about the current situation. Admit to me that you were completely wrong when you said that the Iranian President (and iran for that matter) had anything to do with 911.

Then we might start the open discussion. I know enough to know when you are factually incorrect mike!

  • mo money- mo money- mo money

  • Yes, helpful, yes, interesting. It's nice to see a vid with quick, steady articulate flow of reasonable thought. Subscribed.

  • Great post - maybe there is still hope for the U.S.

It is not a question of which side you are on. Patriotism is a 50-50 game. It is your duty as a human being to find the truth before taking arms. World war II was a proud moment in American history, but it is high time we stop hiding behind that triumph and realize that every war we have fought after has been a total disaster and travesty.

  • I do not believe that WWII was a just or necessary war - for instance, it was fought against socialism, which quickly took root in the US post-war society...

  • How old are you and how far did you go in school?

  • I am 41 years old, and I have a BA in history from McGill University, and a Masters in history -- focusing on the history of philosophy -- from the University of Toronto.

  • WWII was not a just war, but as far as I know the U.S. entered the arena late on the basis of defending its country, and to suppress an aggressive Nazi regime which was violently invading other sovereign nations.

My point is that this is complete nonsense that we make subtle parallels to Iran and Iraq.... "axis of evil". In over 1000 years, Iran has not attacked another nation in aggression.

  • They have attacked other country in a coward fashion. They supply arms to the enemy, therefore they are the enemy. Why do you defend those slimeballs?

  • Because this isnt a football game. "us VS them" attitude serves no purpose when we are dealing with people's lives. Especially when we are dealing with pre-emptive decisions. The big question is... why dont YOU defend innocent human beings.

  • Thanx Stef. I wish more people could see through this propaganda bullshit against Iran. Logic and Reason shall prevail. All though it might take another thousand years of idiocy to get there.

I am some where in between Socialism/Marxism and Anarchism. Do you think the best quality's of both can co-exist in one society? Please senm me a link if you have covered this before. Thanx again.

  • One of the most truthful commentaries about current events I've heard lately. Especially with the holocaust incident, that's also the point I thought Ahmadinejad was trying to make. Keep it up, and it's sad we have americans like "willyswear"

  • Excellent points. Would love to see more podcasts centered around current events.

  • great video

  • So you're against religion, then state that the Ayatollah (supreme religious leader) controls the nuclear program, and yet the cause for concern is the US. Wow.

  • Bush is religious, and has *actually* started a war that has gotten over 1 million Muslims killed.

    Wow indeed.

  • I've heard all sorts of figures for the death tolls of Iraqi's. What is you source for the figure you used?

As for Zionism, as Christopher Hitchens would say, "Religion poisons everything."

  • Stef said "The one country that has bombed civilians with Nuclear weapons is also the country telling other countries in the world that they can not have nuclear weapons" duh Stef don't you know we are the good guys. You must be a Nazi because you are against the slaughter of Iraqis and Palestinians. Stef you are an antisemitic, anti-American terrorist. I must say you have the least amount of hair of any terrorist I have ever seen.

  • Indeed ;)

  • Thanks for reminding me how screwed up this world is :(

  • Listen the my podcasts bro, there is a great solution! :)

  • Thank you for the video stef.

  • what evidence do you have of the rapidity of transformation of our society into what you call "theocracy"? i don't see any such rapidly tranforming society. our nation's run by corporatists. the religion is profits. it's an important distinction because "religion", or lack of, becomes just another method of division for the owners and operators. it's a trap, just like Race.

  • I don't see why it has to be one or the other... Organized religion is a form of corporatism I think.

  • Love current events when I'm catching up on podcasts!

  • Ah, now here I can agree with you. Thanks for this analysis. I wish this perspective were offered in the mainstream media more often.

  • These philosophy/political video blogs are actually a really nice complement to my political science course in university, so yes it does help! I'll probably end up starting up a discussion about anarchy, at the university of Toronto no less :)

  • Let me know if you'd like me to come down and lead a discussion!

  • I do not agree with you. I think you are simplifying grossly when you say that is completely hypocritical if US is trying to stop Iran from developing WoMD. Do you really think we should make no difference between democratic (like US, EU...) and tyrannic country (like Iran, North Korea...)?

  • Well, who overthrough the democratically-elected Shah in Iran? Who used nukes on civilians? Who invaded Iraq? Who sells hundreds of billions of dollars of arms to dictatorships like Saudi Arabia?

America is less violent towards its own citizens than most other countries - but *far* more violent towards foreigners...

  • Then there is a huge difference among those countries after all?

But, you are basically saying that USA is the worst country in the world. I think it's good to be critical to your own, but not to be blind to others. If you take analytical study on what impact USA had on foreign countries, you will see that overall it's not necessarily as bad as many nowdays want to picture.

  • [500 character limit snap]

Guess where east European post communistic countries would be, if USA wouldn't support democratic evolution in our region! I wish people would know better what kind of regime it is in communistic/socialistic society and what impact that causes on people's life, minds, "souls".

  • I just have to add, that I would prefer discussion and arguments over "thumb down". Thank you.

  • Great video. Of course, I agree entirely and I am amazingly still an American although not exactly by choice.

  • Remember, 'America' doesn't exist, only people do... ;)

  • Yeah. I should have quoted "American" :)
