COL Roberts promoted me to Master Sergeant on 1 Dec 2005. What a honor it was to serve with a Solid American Icon. He made sure that everyone knew what the Soldiers outside the wire felt like through personal courage and example. I'm not talking about Vietnam; I'm talking 2005 in Iraq where he served as a Battalion Commander. Congratulations to a very humble and deserving American Leader!

One hell of a soldier!!! I remember seeing him at Walter Reed and thinking it's people like him that make me so proud to be a part of this military.
