is there a video for aniki vs link? id like to see those two go at it btw i play as link and i think germ needs to use a bit more projectiles to slow fox and other speed characters down also catching fools in an UP B mid roll seems like it could have been made then again im only a local battlemaster nothing on there levels. Opinions?

Wavedashing in the current metagame opens up a ton of positioning/spacing options, is viable on and off the edge, for approaching out of shield, for spacing on platforms, for comboing with several characters and many other things. Aniki is an old player, and even during his time, he was one of the few that decided not to use it. He never placed high in tournaments, either.

Yes. trained to play like pros. Do you play smash competitively yourself? Mindgames aren't natural. It takes a lot of time to learn proper mindgames. M2k has godly mindgames. Spacing, techskill, and muscle memory also takes time.

M2k's already said that AR has helped him master almost every technical thing such as waveshining or l-canceling.. I don't doubt in my mind that he is VERY good. the whole points was that there really is no true way for m2k to be the best in the world when he was already defeated by mango who had only playn for a year prior to beating him @ Pound 3, and i dont doubt there is some other joe whos just like mango could beat him. There's no possible way to see who's the best. And tournament winnings have nothing to do with since KEN had probably the best power rankings in the US and still lost to m2k.

the germ is still my favorite link. i personally think his link has more skill than aniki's. aniki uses link the most basic way pro link players are suppose to use him. which is practical, but germ developed a style with link that no link pro ever was genius enough to think of. to add, i always wished germ and ken had a fight. i saw enough aniki vs ken, but i'd like to see what germ's link would do to ken's marth, or visa versa.

Germ did much better than his other match, but imo I don't think he is better than Aniki. I'm not saying Germ is bad either cause hes a real good Link and hes one of the Links that inspired me to play Link. Fox is a tough match up for Link and the speed he has really hurts Link because he has alot more mind game options and combo, but I do believe there is always a way to win despite the whole tier system. Just giving my 2 cents on this match. Germ did fight well and he is a really good Link.
Germ is THE BEST link player.. Aniki's good but Germ would win. As you can see, he's doing even better as in the first match with isai he didnt stand a chance...but i believe he will eventually surpass isai, as it's not about what moves you do, but you're intellect and instincts... My Final Analysis, Isai is an SSB & SSBM God, while Germ is a Titan of SSBM, God's beat Titans, but nothing else on the planest besides God's can, it's pretty simple.
At 1:03 Germ should have done Up-B again instead of D-smash, of course, I understand that he didn't want to repeat the same move, however, that would have ended Isai's first stock.
Germ isn't trying to hit Isai with his ranged, he knows that's folly, it's easy to see, especially if you've been playing Link a couple years. Germ was using those projectiles as air control, so that he could get a hit in, it's folly to try to hit someone with projectiles when they're good enough.
They're both good players, you people should recognize that- I love playing as link and fox.
But link is just a lower tier. Just look how slow and un-agile he is.... he's better for a friendly joust with a friend, not a hardcore player. You know fox.

Thank you Isai for putting Germ in his place. Germ is all show with Link(its pretty sad). People should stop making a big deal about using Link. Link is a great character if used properly, just look at Aniki or Smasher. Of course Germ will never play Link as effectively as those two(most likely the reason he picked up Falco; that puss).

its amazing how 2 or 3 techniques makes the difference between a good beginner (with friends etc.) and a good tourney player, wavedashing, intercepting (especially intercepting), and maybe some mind games. But seriously I've questioned this watching link, His wavedash is so short why not just roll? Is it really that important to wavedash those two inches when you can roll twice that or whatever. Just my two cents.
Cause if germ rolled through a couple Isai's flurries (not that its easy) he could have opened himself up for a short hop sword plant or a turn around forward double smash.
Somethinganother : roll = more delay than wavedash, and if you know how to perfect wavedash with Link (control stick almost horizontal) two perfect wavedashes can go farther than a roll and has less delay.

Don't use tiers as a way to measure the player. Ganondorf used to be pretty high tier, but not anymore. As people learn more about the game, tiers change. Playing a midtier like Link against a Fox is fine, it's not like he's crazy, it's just what he's used to. Aniki plays Link, and he was on top of the Kantou rankings for awhile. And besides, Isai is just insane when he's not sandbagging.

Isai was doing alright on the first stocks, aggressive wavedashing uthrowing and short hop comboing; but he started telegraphing his smashes in the middle and Germ should have nailed him.
I saw germs combo vid, and thought he was link god, then i see his other vids against zelgadis and now isai, and man germ sucks so bad. he could have had that fight so many times over, but he kept making so many stupid mistakes, letting isai live when he shouldnt have, over and over. I wish i could play him.
Marth shouldn't be that much of a problem. He's got no projectile, so if you keep a little distance, grab more and avoid the laggy moves, he shouldn't be that bad. Aniki can take next to any Marth down, but rarely a good fox.
Much better match compared to the 1st meeting. Link managed to knock out two stocks and got himself edgehogged twice. Probably the shortfalls of American-styled playing. Aniki rarely gets edgehogged.
That was surprising to see... Before watching this match I watched Germ's "Hylian Nightmare" combo video, and from looking at it, it seemed he was literially invincible. But judging by this match, Germ's just flashy.

Maybe but it states that fox is god tier and link is mid next to samus..
Germs link is much more fluid and he knows his character much better then isia knows that fox and it shows but hes completely counterpicked from fox to link..

Germ did much better than his other match, but imo I don't think he is better than Aniki. I'm not saying Germ is bad either cause hes a real good Link and hes one of the Links that inspired me to play Link. Fox is a tough match up for Link and the speed he has really hurts Link because he has alot more mind game options and combo, but I do believe there is always a way to win despite the whole tier system. Just giving my 2 cents on this match. Germ did fight well and he is a really good Link.

As you can see, he's doing even better as in the first match with isai he didnt stand a chance...but i believe he will eventually surpass isai, as it's not about what moves you do, but you're intellect and instincts... My Final Analysis, Isai is an SSB & SSBM God, while Germ is a Titan of SSBM, God's beat Titans, but nothing else on the planest besides God's can, it's pretty simple.

Germ isn't trying to hit Isai with his ranged, he knows that's folly, it's easy to see, especially if you've been playing Link a couple years. Germ was using those projectiles as air control, so that he could get a hit in, it's folly to try to hit someone with projectiles when they're good enough.

Actually, there are some pro Link players have the ability to juggle a Fox pretty easily. Most of Link's moves can immobilize him pretty well.

The only fast attacks that come to mind with link is both back and neutral aerial melee (Kick and double kick) Thats kinda annoying to close on the enemy with..
Still though, true, link players can pwn people (Me being the biggest f'ckin zelda freak around, can agree). Just depends on the two ppls skills..

True! Link's down smash move is also his meteor smash when used next to a ledge (Tip: use it when your opponent is below the stage and is trying to recover!)

Thank you Isai for putting Germ in his place. Germ is all show with Link(its pretty sad). People should stop making a big deal about using Link. Link is a great character if used properly, just look at Aniki or Smasher. Of course Germ will never play Link as effectively as those two(most likely the reason he picked up Falco; that puss).

its amazing how 2 or 3 techniques makes the difference between a good beginner (with friends etc.) and a good tourney player, wavedashing, intercepting (especially intercepting), and maybe some mind games. But seriously I've questioned this watching link, His wavedash is so short why not just roll? Is it really that important to wavedash those two inches when you can roll twice that or whatever. Just my two cents.

Cause if germ rolled through a couple Isai's flurries (not that its easy) he could have opened himself up for a short hop sword plant or a turn around forward double smash.

Somethinganother : roll = more delay than wavedash, and if you know how to perfect wavedash with Link (control stick almost horizontal) two perfect wavedashes can go farther than a roll and has less delay.

Don't use tiers as a way to measure the player. Ganondorf used to be pretty high tier, but not anymore. As people learn more about the game, tiers change. Playing a midtier like Link against a Fox is fine, it's not like he's crazy, it's just what he's used to. Aniki plays Link, and he was on top of the Kantou rankings for awhile. And besides, Isai is just insane when he's not sandbagging.

I saw germs combo vid, and thought he was link god, then i see his other vids against zelgadis and now isai, and man germ sucks so bad. he could have had that fight so many times over, but he kept making so many stupid mistakes, letting isai live when he shouldnt have, over and over. I wish i could play him.

Marth shouldn't be that much of a problem. He's got no projectile, so if you keep a little distance, grab more and avoid the laggy moves, he shouldn't be that bad. Aniki can take next to any Marth down, but rarely a good fox.

Much better match compared to the 1st meeting. Link managed to knock out two stocks and got himself edgehogged twice. Probably the shortfalls of American-styled playing. Aniki rarely gets edgehogged.
