I don't understand why some viewers are judging him for things irrelevant to his vocal audition. Yes he sings a song to praise the Lord which holds dear to him personally, and he does have a background story which American Idol ASKS for which is mandatory if you want to take part in the show. But not only is this an audition to him, but it was something to prove to himself and others that he held on strong and he's able to hear and speak just like any other person. Respect Ramiro

I'm hesitant towards "Christian" contestants.

Just silently trust God, you don't have to use your flesh to plug in your church to gain favor.

Colton (Dixon) hardly says anything about God or church, he just sings - even on last year he's almost forgotten until towards the end. But look at God's favor on him now.

Doug, just because religion is, in your opinion, "flawed and corrupt" does not mean that God is not real. Rather, it proves our need for a Savior. Is government corrupt? Of course it is, but government is very real. Name me one thing in this world that isn't corrupt. Corruption does not negate reality.

Just because a majority of us are waking up to the fact that religion is flawed and corrupt doesn't mean if we don't believe in god in any form we are bad people. I'm glad this guy has a strong spirit( not in the religious sense) to over come a genetic flaw of birth. He believes in a god good for him, but, don't get on your high horse and talk down to the rest of us
