how do you keep the noise so soft in iso 1600. when i shoot that highin isowith my D5 i getalot of rectangular noise in the shadows and dark areas. did you do something in post? or is itsome camera setting?
@awk01 I did nothing to the 5D footage in post. The lens and settings I used are displayed in the video as well. We shot in 24fps with 1/50th shutter speed.
Why is it that in every comparison video like this, people somehow forget to either fix the exposure or the color temperature so that all cameras are the same...
@BlackSupraC2 agreed, i noticed the t2i was a little blue in the shadows. i know he said he set all them to neutral, but it seemed like he almost had a florescent temp.
@ccheska04 The camera won't matter as much as the lens. So you can'g to wrong with any of the bodies. I believe the 7D has the most advanced auto-focusing features out of the bunch though.
which one would you recommend, 5D mrkII or 7D for (movie quality and photo) i was thinking of buying 7D, but its not in full-frame. but i heard 7D quality is better then 5D mrkII. Is that true?
@frimpungping 7ds are actually soft when it comes to right out of the camera shooting, post is what makes the difference with them. 5d can handle low light better then the 7d but not close to as good as the 1d. full frame is good but not too necessary. the 5d only has 9 AF points unlike the 19 on the 7d so focusing is a hit or miss on the 5d. i would say buy a 7d, it will get you through, and when u get the extra cash, buy a 5d and use 5d for videos and 7d for photos.
It looks like the biggest difference is the color, and i think it can be changed in color correction, but the three seems to have pretty the same grainy amount in low light.
@leotecasi The color difference is due to the white balance. I set the 5D and 7D to the same temperature, but forgot about the T2i, so that is why they look different here.
@ImpagliazzoBR but you have to realize that the fx7 would need a DOF adapter. big sensors and the ability to use lenses are the advantages that make it look nicer. however, i bet any money that if you run and record with a dslr in your left and your fx7 in your right, the fx7 would be far more stable because its way heavier and decreases the amount of shake naturally because of the weight and size of it.
I thought that the T2i has the same Image Processor has the 7D... why there is so much difference?

Kind of looks like the 5d maintains better contrast/richer colors as the ISO raises up.

@tparn Yes, it's sitting on my drive right now unedited. Have a big project due soon, but hopefully after that I can get the FD test up.

T2i should be identical to the 7D.

With the same white balance they are identical.

5d seems a little warmer than the other cameras, especially the rebel.

the 5d has a much richer color tone than the other.

Interesting that for internet purposes the 5D looks outstanding even at 6400, where others beging to tear apart.
And interesting how the 800 dollars T2i looks better than my FX7 which I bought for 2500 dollars years ago.
