A friend of mine in San Francisco has a copy of an original Rythmodik piano roll with this played by Albert Gumble! (as a duet with Frederick Arno, I believe). It is a really great hand-played ragtime duet roll, and I hope to be able to borrow and scan it next time I'm up there!
How delightful! I was about to package and price a copy of the original sheet music for "In My Harem" and thought I'd try to find it on youtube--and here it is! Thanks!
Fun to see you all teamed up with Johnny Maddox having lots of fun and making great music together! Darn good video too! How did you shoot it? I assume you just placed the camera and then started playing.
I'm gonna have to go get one of my washboards and play along!
How cool to see you two playing together! Adam, you can force YouTube to correct the aspect ratio by adding "yt:stretch=16:9" to the tags. Click the Edit button and add it to the tags. Voila! (It won't fix the thumbnail, alas.) If your source videos are encoded as MPEG2, I can point you to a program that will rewrite the headers so that YouTube will know they're 16:9. I have to do that with my new camera or I get the same squished effect.
Thanks for this wonderful hint above! What a nice trick. I have some videos posted that I can fix now. You are definitely worth much more than just a good Elmer Fudd impersonator!
Also, What is the other program you mentioned that will "rewrite the headers so that YouTube will know they're 16:9"
It's a little program called DVDPatcher. I just enter all the values the same as the MPEG2 source from my camera but check 16:9 instead and tell it to rewrite the header only. Then I use another program to convert the audio for YouTube use since YouTube totally screws up the AC3 audio from my camera. This other program, Prism Video Converter, isn't compatible with NTSC sources so it would screw up the aspect ratio if I used it to convert video.
WOW!! Never heard of Adam Swanson before but anyone who can keep up with Mr. Maddox is fantastic. thanks

Ron,
Well, you went way over my head on this little trick.
I think all I'll need is that delightful little "yt:stretch=16:9" - it works slicker'n a whistle.
