@warmaster5128 Well this video is when i started my planted tanks which were a fail but now i'm on a 50 gal tank, anyhow... no if you can find some fine gravel or enriched gravel that is the best thing for your plants some people also use aqua soil thats not bad for the fishes either, and plus if you have a lot of fish that produce a lot of waste its going to be real obvious and is going to make you tank look bad, so you wanna get a dark gravel or dark brown...

i have most of the same exact fish you have in your tank!! i know these tropical fish require a warmer water temperture than goldfish who can withstand cold water. i don't have a heater but if i leave my light on in the tank, is that consider a heat source??

If those are lives plants (which they look like) you don't need to keep the water level low to add oxygen. You should be injecting C02. The plants will release the oxygen the fish need. Plus your plants will grow faster and brighter and bigger. Just my 2 cents.

I have a 10 gal tropical fish tank w? white sand........ it has four guppies,1coral platiy, 2 ghost shrimp, a peppered cory 2 odessa barbs and its doing very well i aslo have a 30 gal w/ gouramis, a rainbow shark, a silver shark catfish, a crawfish and a albino chocolate pleco:) your tank looks like you could make it really nice and i recomend sand and really esay to clean and keep up on...

Maybe your fish died of ammonia poising, could have been caused by over stocking your tank. Thats what it seems like to me at least.

Hey as long as you hold it above the sand far enouugh you can collect all you need with minimum sand removal. Plus most stuff just gets into the filter or into a corner so it's just a little bit then your good. I suggest sand over gravel any day.

That is actually a very nice looking and well-kept 10-gallon tank. I especially like how the dark driftwood contrasts with the light gravel and the nice green plants. This tank is just the right size for guppies too.

Hey guys im going to get a 2.5 gal rectangle tank for my Betta who has lived in a bowl his whole life (not my choice) but iv already got alot of tanks in my room so i want to just put him in without a filter or anything (i am used to changing his water like 2 times a week) or heater(i live in a tropical area so i will have the room tempature at 70-80 degrreds constant. He will also have a fake plant, gravel, and a bunch of caves.

im not an expert. but plastic plants aren't exactly the best choice.. I've had fish having their fins caught and dying, I'd suggest live plants. but it's your choice.

you may want to consider replacing the power filter with a sponge or box filter for the guppies becuase of the fins they don't like a strong current.
