He just tanked the "all alone you and I" part that should have killed the audience, but it just wasn't all there. There's no denying Neil Dimaond is a great storyteller. Castro is a great folksy, storyteller AND has the voice to boot. I personally prefer some melody in my songs and I finally heard that in Castro's rendition.

Might I add the studio version is simply superb. His phrasing and falsetto, spot on.

He was recovering from a fever of 104 this week am I right? Very impressive.
