To the reporter - You really should get over yourself with the whole 'jaywalking' thing. It is, aside from the 21-years-old-to-drink thing, possibly most ridiculous laws in effect. Like anyone is going to shake their heads in disgust at people crossing the street away from a crossing?!
True. I moved to Chicago area from east coast and I can't believe how much these lunatics get away with here, even compared to NYC or Washington. In Chicago, 2, 3, or 4 cars running the red light is perfectly normal and accepted, esp. for left turn signal arrows. What a bunch of hicks
I'm unhappy to say SF is the same. People drive at excessive speeds, rarely signal, and regard stoplights/signs as mere suggestions. I also am glad to report that I am a victim of red light runner (my car was totaled; so was I). What I can't understand is the self-centered, entitled attitude this area harbors in comparison to others, especially on the road.
I live fairly close to that stretch at UCSF and now regularly avoid taking that route for the exact same reasons Stanley gave. Ugh.
in sf yesterday some lady almost ran me and my friends over so my friend almost hit here car a little with no damage of course, the lady turned around and almost hit us again screaming "im gona call the cops on you"
@Jujubunnie that is so true i dont live in SF but i had to go there a couple times for a test at UCSF but i have a habit about being a complete stopper at all the stop signs i see and following the speed limit there since i dont know the streets very well but i do have a question..is it really illegal to make a u turn on some streets even when its not marked?? cuz i did that once and somebody told me it was illegal even though there was no sign saying that...so im confused....
Wow, Stanley, it's been over a month since your last report. You must have really done a number on your ankle. Without your watchful eye, the bay area is once again going to hell in a hand basket. We need you. I love to watch people fumble for a response when you catch them red-handed. Stanley Roberts for President, 2012.
in the beginning of the video you say that the two cars (that were already stopped) were illegal....wrong....they are at an intersection and should remain in their location, that is the preferred action when an ambulance is at an intersecton...you were wrong on that one!
Actually ...Every vehicle in the video was moving when I started shooting the video, no one yielded ..... even when they arrived at the light the drivers should have at least tried to pull to the right, no one did in fact they just stopped at the light and made the ambulance go around.
I live in a small town and it drives me absolutely nuts when just ONE driver does something like this in front of me. There is absolutely no way I'd ever be able to live in SF and drive. I'd probably just start hitting people with my car at random. Yet another great vid demonstrating just how dumb people really are. :~)
Good video. That last scene, with the wide junction, was crazy. A lot of those folks didn't even slow down. Major accidents waiting to happen, I'd say.
lol this is nothing compared to spain or italy.

Nobody ever makes a complete stop anymore, they just kind of slow down, and then go again.

Damn, y'all got caught on camera running a stop sign. You deserve a ticket in the mail.

It's been weeks since I've seen something new from Stanley Roberts. Is he alive and well and still working for KRON 4 News?

It's not just drivers, look at all those mindless pedestrians walking while the ambulance is trying to get through!

in that case, then they were in violation....and it is a small intersection...
jessenicholas1 3 years ago
Actually, that's not even an intersection it's a controlled crosswalk mid block............. Thanks for watching...

@TVman1981 Stan the video shows a truck stopped behind a car at the start.

Actually you don't have to stop at the stop signs with white borders. :)
