Awesome! This song was made for worship. There is such an sweet presence whenever we sing this song. And the amazing thing is, that interlude between "we wait for you" and "here we are"....He comes!!!!
let's go to the bottomline: let us all stop this foolish argument about shekinah or kabod glory thing. If God's presence is there, then that's it. Do you think God is pleased with what arguments you are discussing? whether we are calling for shekinah or kabod glory to come down, we are worshipping God! (remember, Jesus prayed in John 17: that they may be one. so let us be of one mind about worshiping God and not about the words. JESUS is the Word.. take that it mind.)
@lugojiano1 I assure you that in the context of this song, the shekinah is referring to nothing less than the manifest presence of God. There are NO occult or luceferian undertones whatsoever. God bless

It should be very obvious that the use of any word relates to its context. "Shekinah" only refers to anything Kabbalistic IN THE CONTEXT of kabbalism. I mean honestly, why don't you pick on the word "worship" and place it in the context of some other religion to suggest we worship some other god, that would be equally as foolish.
@1lugojian My friend in Christ, it is unjust to judge who someone else is worshipping. "Shekinah" can only refer to a god in the context of the religion that proclaims it as a god. Take for example an Arabic Christian: They use the word "Allah" to refer to God. Why? Because that's the Arabic word for "god." Would you also argue that they are worshipping the muslim god on this point? Or would you take practical consideration to context. Context is critical for communication.
@GuitarOfGold you have serious discerment of times issues. the officially sanctioned corporate traditionalistic Rome and world friendly or modernistic liberal and emerging church movements of the "Christian religion" are the great falling away we were constantly warned about in Scripture even by Jesus himself. by using fake translations thus cutting the roots of the Word and using corrupted seeds of lies has brought you in the state where like in this video above ...

@HearingHisCall so you are making a disctinction between the shekinah glory of God and the Holy Spirit, as poured out upon the flesh of every believer? (Acts 1:5, 2:16-21, Romans 14:17, 1Cor. 6:19, 2Tim. 1:14 etc)
Also, isn't the blood of Jesus and the offering of Himself as a sacrifice and offering for our sins enough to grant us access into the Holiest? See Hebrews 9-10 for the details.
I hear you. Just to be truly honest I haven't done a lot of studying on this subject. In my comment I was mostly trying just to push the song is great and if some Christians did have an issue with saying "Shekinah glory come down" . That they didn't need to just toss out the song completely, but just change a few words.
I am, making a distinction between Shekinah glory and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives with in us but is not a manifestation of God (meaning physical form or another word might be materialized in you). The Holy Spirit is present, but you can't see him. Shekinah Glory is something you can physically see. So, there is a difference.
I believe the blood of Christ covers all our sins from past to present to the future. In Hebrews, the context of the Holy of Holies being able to enter into it. Is referring to heaven at that point in time, because God wasnt "living" in the temple any more. So, the blood of Christ allows us to be in the presents of God in heaven, but it doesnt qualify our physical body to be there also.
So, that is my stance though I am not a scholar by far, but thanks for your questions!
I suggest IHOP to be aware of the correct pronunciation of the word "shekinah".
"Shekinah" is a Hebrew which means God's divine presence. In Hebrew it's written as שכינה, which should be read as "sh'khee-nah", with the closest transliteration as "shekhinah" but not the americanized pronunciation of "she-kai-nah".
The song is an anointed one and is spreading around the world but I don't want to see it carrying an incorrect pronunciation of it's key word.

@tianguojinle My dear friend, I really think you'd find this irrelevant when you consider that the majority of names in the New Testament, including the name "Jesus," are not even an attempt at the correct pronunciation. ;-)
This is absolutely beautiful and anointed. Amazing. Seriously. I just started singing this randomly at work and started crying because I could just feel His presence... Wow. :)
The Bible is full of scriptures that use the verb "Shakan", and "Shekinah" is simply the noun derived from it. It means "to dwell". Eg: "But you are to seek the place the LORD your God will choose [...] to put his Name there for his *dwelling*". The place where God dwells in fullness is His Church. And He dwells in fullness in His Son Jesus Christ who is manifested among us by the glorious presence of the Holy Spirit. God wants us all to be filled with Him up to the fullness of God (Eph. 3:19).
@friesenhouse Thanks for clearing that up lol... love this song - we just did it at our youth group, while i did some prophetic painting... love KHOP!
Everyone check this out, God wants all of us to walk like this, and show His love and power to a broken world, Jesus is awesome!.......go to.... "Todd White - More Healing on the Streets".................... everyone loves Todd because of his passion towards the lord, He's been on Sid Roth's show........ He's just a normal guy who knows the Father's love!!!........... enjoy everyone!!!
If my heart is praising Jesus, I'm praising Jesus.
And if my mouth is praising Jesus, but my mind is on a Ferrari, I'm really worshiping the Ferrari.
Language means nothing. Even IF it were true, hypothetically, that Jewish linguists plagiarized a vocab from pagan beliefs and absorbed it into their own Hebrew vocabulary and used it to describe Elohim's presence...
*Shrug* It means something different now, a GOOD different meaning.
I came to listen to this song, and to be with Jesus. Instead, I see people arguing amongst themselves. In the bible, Jesus fed thousands with a few loaves of bread. Oh no, pagans ate bread too!? God is merciful to the just and the unjust. Whether or not the wording is correct in the song, or whatever, its not about words, its about the Presence of God, and I want to bring that fire closer to me. God isn't frowning at them because of words, he's delighted because of the desire they have for him.
My information is from the bible text... the problem is that this issue is simply to tender for many folks . the references is simply not in the bile bt came from the Kabbalists and the tulmudists years later.... there are so many wonderful names for the Lord and his work and presence that we do not need to be tricked into useing false goddess names to get the job done. There simply is no biblical context for this name as the word is not in the bible.. please see eastons bible dictiionary..
@preachingfreedom Regardless of what wikipedia says (we all know how unreliable it is), I know Jews who read the Old Testament in Hebrew, not English, and the word "Shekinah" is in their text meaning the manifest presence of God.
Regardless whether it's in there or not, what the devil intends for evil the Lord will use for good, and for His glory. So using the term does not glorify satan, but God still gets the glory! You could argue the same for the dates that we celebrate easter and Christmas
@ezekielfrazer The Christ rejecting taumudic book your jewish friend may very well have the corruption Shekinah in it.. as for Christmas and Easter you simply prove the point... Those are Also Pagan Perversions posing as Christian Holidays.. Do you have a scripture about using Pagan sacrifices and false Gods to glorify Jesus... Using the Devils toys to play with Jesus is simply sinful
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Dear Folks Shekinah Glory that you ministry uses the name of is a Pagan goddess and is never mentioned in the Bible the name Shekinah Glory was ceated by Kabbalistic Christ Rejecting jews. Shekinah was a FEMALE goddess worshiped by the pagans and which the talmudic jews used in their Christ Rejecting worship to describe gods presence... the ISLAMIC folks DO mention this pagan goddess in the KORAN PLEASE look into this and change the name of the ministry so as not to give glory to satan
Not sure where you get your info from, but in this context, shekinah is referring to the manifest presence or glory of God resting upon His people. Do yourself a favor and take a break from the conspiracy theories and heresy hunting.
@friesenhouse cutting and pasting from Wikeapedea is simply not good bible study brother. but if you must (as you did) continue down the page and you will see a little more as they reference eastons bible dictionary ( who is also compromising) however they admit that THE shikinah is simply NOT in the BIBLE. Now if you go down a little further you will see even more that hopefully will get you searching as they admit again that shikinah is from the talmudists and the Kaballists.. no conspiracy
@friesenhouse this is no way to speak to some one if you are trying to show gods love to those who do not know him so i urge you to speak with love but don't be a pushover and stand up for what you believe but do it in a kind loving way
@preachingfreedom eg. Shekinah is derived from the Hebrew verb שכן. In Biblical Hebrew the word means literally to settle, inhabit, or dwell, and is used frequently in the Hebrew Bible. (See Exodus 40:35, "Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting, for the cloud rested (shakhan) upon it, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle."
@preachingfreedom Oh, and Shekinah Glory Ministry is something completely different. "Shekinah Glory" here is the name of the song, not the ministry. Just to clarify that point. The ministry is IHOP - International House of Prayer
@preachingfreedom the only glory given to satan is when we become religious and legalistic instead of focusing on what god acutally asked from us...love God, love neighbour....the devil is given glory when we choose not to love. God's grace over our lives is so much bigger than the politics of christianity.
@preachingfreedom the glory isn't going to satan and i just want to let you know that Shekinah Glory is the type of glory you are able yo see it isn't a pagan god but i do thank you for letting us know that also so i pray that god reviels the Shekinah glory to you so that you may understand what it is
@preachingfreedom Shekinah is referred to when Moses comes off the mountain after an encounter with God. The glory of God was upon him. Shekinah means God's presence with or dwelling with the people. In my opinion its the most powerful kind of presence there is. Stuff goes down when there's some Shekinah glory. You really should talk to God and see what he has to say about your beliefs on Shekinah Glory.
@preachingfreedom Haha nice try, Shekinah Glory does not derive from the Kabbalah, they took the concept and gave it a sexual identity somewhere in the 11th century as a response to what they thought was apparently wrong with the philosophic movement in Judaism at that time. The Kabbalah thought that their concept of Shekinah was the answer to the widening abyss between man and God that Judaical philosophy created, But of course they were wrong because they obviously missed JESUS =D
@preachingfreedom As was pointed out to you, the word "Shekinah" has Hebrew origins based directly in scripture. You offered no rebuttal. Let me remind you that the spirit of humility, in which we are commanded to live, involves admitting when you're wrong.
your right and you should do so. as this word has NOTHING to do with Scripture but was a rabinical christ rejecting subsitute adopted and rationalized by talmudic and kabbalistic Christ rejectors who actually adopted the pagan concempts of a female consort to Jehovah .. there are no Derived from doctrins in the bible.. only plain written one..I would think it would be an easy thing for you all to just admit and repent of.. or are you folks to busy getting ready for other pagan holidays too?
@preachingfreedom You are simply incorrect. The word is a Hebrew conjugation of the verb meaning "to rest" or "to settle." It is not a noun, and in the context of this song, it is being used as an adjective denoting a manifest presence. It is used very often throughout the Old Testament in it's native Hebrew text, as well as its transliteration being used very frequently in the New Testament in it's native Greek. Deny it all you want, but you are simply wrong.
@josspretty This is Cory Asbury's worship team at the IHOP/KC... Jaye Thomas (singing lead) now leads a Fire in the Night team. Cory plays the acoustical guitar.
God touched my heart and changed me when I went to the Onething conference. I learned to put my faith fully on Him and I have been in the faith since I was a baby.
Praise God! I'm so glad he used people to change other people when they perform. :]
@yesudiddie Yes, go! Don't pass out on this opportunity. :D If you go to IHOP's website I think they have mp3s available if you want to hear the messages they preached during Onething '10.
@fabolousmaxbaby I can tell you from the depth that of my heart, that it is a true prophetic statement!
"I charge yu according to the prophecies which went before you, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare" (1 Tim 1:18) Every prophetic word requires the presence of a warrior!
heard this live at Onething Houston...and it moved me, moved us and brought it down hard...thick presence of God, thank you for posting...so use this in my prayer time!

Can anyone tell IHOP about this?

who does it matter to most, you or God (how its spelt or pronounced?)

@tianguojinle My dear friend, I really think you'd find this irrelevant when you consider that the majority of names in the New Testament, including the name "Jesus," are not even an attempt at the correct pronunciation. ;-)

Ilfidelino 11 months ago
The Bible is full of scriptures that use the verb "Shakan", and "Shekinah" is simply the noun derived from it. It means "to dwell". Eg: "But you are to seek the place the LORD your God will choose [...] to put his Name there for his *dwelling*". The place where God dwells in fullness is His Church. And He dwells in fullness in His Son Jesus Christ who is manifested among us by the glorious presence of the Holy Spirit. God wants us all to be filled with Him up to the fullness of God (Eph. 3:19).

There simply is no biblical context for this name as the word is not in the bible.. please see eastons bible dictiionary..
preachingfreedom 1 year ago
@preachingfreedom Regardless of what wikipedia says (we all know how unreliable it is), I know Jews who read the Old Testament in Hebrew, not English, and the word "Shekinah" is in their text meaning the manifest presence of God.
Regardless whether it's in there or not, what the devil intends for evil the Lord will use for good, and for His glory. So using the term does not glorify satan, but God still gets the glory! You could argue the same for the dates that we celebrate easter and Christmas
ezekielfrazer 1 year ago
@ezekielfrazer The Christ rejecting taumudic book your jewish friend may very well have the corruption Shekinah in it.. as for Christmas and Easter you simply prove the point... Those are Also Pagan Perversions posing as Christian Holidays.. Do you have a scripture about using Pagan sacrifices and false Gods to glorify Jesus... Using the Devils toys to play with Jesus is simply sinful

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Dear Folks Shekinah Glory that you ministry uses the name of is a Pagan goddess and is never mentioned in the Bible the name Shekinah Glory was ceated by Kabbalistic Christ Rejecting jews. Shekinah was a FEMALE goddess worshiped by the pagans and which the talmudic jews used in their Christ Rejecting worship to describe gods presence... the ISLAMIC folks DO mention this pagan goddess in the KORAN PLEASE look into this and change the name of the ministry so as not to give glory to satan
preachingfreedom 1 year ago
@preachingfreedom
Not sure where you get your info from, but in this context, shekinah is referring to the manifest presence or glory of God resting upon His people. Do yourself a favor and take a break from the conspiracy theories and heresy hunting.
friesenhouse 1 year ago 61
@friesenhouse cutting and pasting from Wikeapedea is simply not good bible study brother. but if you must (as you did) continue down the page and you will see a little more as they reference eastons bible dictionary ( who is also compromising) however they admit that THE shikinah is simply NOT in the BIBLE. Now if you go down a little further you will see even more that hopefully will get you searching as they admit again that shikinah is from the talmudists and the Kaballists.. no conspiracy
preachingfreedom 1 year ago
@friesenhouse this is no way to speak to some one if you are trying to show gods love to those who do not know him so i urge you to speak with love but don't be a pushover and stand up for what you believe but do it in a kind loving way
jesusculture100 9 months ago
@preachingfreedom eg. Shekinah is derived from the Hebrew verb שכן. In Biblical Hebrew the word means literally to settle, inhabit, or dwell, and is used frequently in the Hebrew Bible. (See Exodus 40:35, "Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting, for the cloud rested (shakhan) upon it, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle."
friesenhouse 1 year ago 44
@preachingfreedom Oh, and Shekinah Glory Ministry is something completely different. "Shekinah Glory" here is the name of the song, not the ministry. Just to clarify that point. The ministry is IHOP - International House of Prayer
ezekielfrazer 1 year ago
@preachingfreedom the only glory given to satan is when we become religious and legalistic instead of focusing on what god acutally asked from us...love God, love neighbour....the devil is given glory when we choose not to love. God's grace over our lives is so much bigger than the politics of christianity.
ay1ful 1 year ago 4
@preachingfreedom no its how they described moses when he descended the mountain because the glory was on him so powerfully
thewhisper199 1 year ago
@preachingfreedom the glory isn't going to satan and i just want to let you know that Shekinah Glory is the type of glory you are able yo see it isn't a pagan god but i do thank you for letting us know that also so i pray that god reviels the Shekinah glory to you so that you may understand what it is
jesusculture100 9 months ago
@preachingfreedom: Scripture referrence would help.
LadyPeac3 9 months ago
@preachingfreedom Shekinah is referred to when Moses comes off the mountain after an encounter with God. The glory of God was upon him. Shekinah means God's presence with or dwelling with the people. In my opinion its the most powerful kind of presence there is. Stuff goes down when there's some Shekinah glory. You really should talk to God and see what he has to say about your beliefs on Shekinah Glory.
andyshiver07 8 months ago 20
@andyshiver07 in addition, shekinah means tangible, so basically its like when you can physically touch god's glory(:
MrASiANRACHEL 2 months ago
@preachingfreedom Haha nice try, Shekinah Glory does not derive from the Kabbalah, they took the concept and gave it a sexual identity somewhere in the 11th century as a response to what they thought was apparently wrong with the philosophic movement in Judaism at that time. The Kabbalah thought that their concept of Shekinah was the answer to the widening abyss between man and God that Judaical philosophy created, But of course they were wrong because they obviously missed JESUS =D
backkkuphorse 6 months ago
@preachingfreedom As was pointed out to you, the word "Shekinah" has Hebrew origins based directly in scripture. You offered no rebuttal. Let me remind you that the spirit of humility, in which we are commanded to live, involves admitting when you're wrong.
GuitarOfGold 5 months ago
your right and you should do so. as this word has NOTHING to do with Scripture but was a rabinical christ rejecting subsitute adopted and rationalized by talmudic and kabbalistic Christ rejectors who actually adopted the pagan concempts of a female consort to Jehovah .. there are no Derived from doctrins in the bible.. only plain written one..I would think it would be an easy thing for you all to just admit and repent of.. or are you folks to busy getting ready for other pagan holidays too?
preachingfreedom 5 months ago
@preachingfreedom You are simply incorrect. The word is a Hebrew conjugation of the verb meaning "to rest" or "to settle." It is not a noun, and in the context of this song, it is being used as an adjective denoting a manifest presence. It is used very often throughout the Old Testament in it's native Hebrew text, as well as its transliteration being used very frequently in the New Testament in it's native Greek. Deny it all you want, but you are simply wrong.
