In high school English, we read Shakespeare. Both the male and female students took part in it, expressed their opinions and talked about what they enjoyed or didn't enjoy. There were no so called "hang-ups" based on gender, this is ridiculous! They're saying male students feel emasculated reading and discussing literature in front of the females? That is a load of crap, and certainly a means of reinforcing gender stereotype.

But seriously, if someone only went to a single gender class thier whole life, they wouldn't understand the social quicks of the other gender and it would kill them later in life like the workplace etc. And as for the whole problem with being afriad to speak up in front of the opposite gender, that can be solved without seperation.
