  • that's way cool. great job!

  • This instrument is a new discovery for me as of 30 minutes ago. I watched a few other videos on it and some I have seen play a bass line on the top and an independent melody on the bottom. Can you do this too?

I am assuming the reason you're only playing the bottom portion is because you're emulating a bass that doesn't have the extra strings on top?

  • @patriotea76 It is possible and I can play that way. I am only playing all the bass parts of this song so I figured I would just play it all on the bass strings.

  • @WARR138 Very cool man. You have some great talent. It takes a lot of talent, time and concentration to be able to split your hands up like that. A lot like playing the piano. Great stuff man!

  • the tone at the beggining is awesome!

  • Wow bad ass

  • That is the most bad ass thing I have ever seen... I bet that cost you a pretty penny. lol

  • You need to be in a band dude. The tool covers are pretty sweet man. But if you were in a band.. that would be amazing.

  • @clarkshapedbox Wish I had the free time.

  • @WARR138 you have big giant warr guitars and big giant canvases for painting and your telling me you dont have free time? hahah well you should still compose some originals on your own. i think it would be pretty sweet

  • @WARR138 You apparently have the talent and the knowledge to be doing this for a living. I would go so far as to say that if you are an accountant or something that doesn't have to do with music, this is wasted talent. But I suppose as long as you're doing what you want with you're life, the musical talent is not so wasted.

  • very very nice guy

  • I have never commented on a video before... but that is f**kin insane!!!!!! I have played the bass for 12 years now and never seen anything like that. Keep it up man.

  • @yawametoo Ha! Thanks.

  • Very cool.

  • @drumrnva Thanks

  • I love watching you play. I'm extremely envious of the instrument :P I hope you put up some more videos soon. You're really entertaining and inspiring to listen to/watch.

  • @idshanks Thanks. Working on it. Free time is an issue

  • Excellent tone, Sir!! Rhythm, great! Solo, incredible!!! The only thing I felt was off was not because of you, but because of the instrument itself cuz it has to be tapped; it doesn't allow as much sustain as a traditional bass or guitar. Otherwise, fantastic job, brother. Keep it up!

  • @matt46and2 Thanks matt46and2 (nice handle by the way) This instrument has tons of sustain but it isn't really ideal for Metal type playing because it is really hard to play repeating notes like the "chugga chugga" stuff you hear in all kinds of metal and prog metal which is one of my favorite styles. I'll just keep trying though.

  • You're NOT a dork! You're my idol!

  • This is amazing!

  • @EggManCZ Thanks

  • This is seriously fantastic mate! I'm heading right over to check out yer Grudge vid now! Awesome!!!

  • @neccybass That was my first one. It is on a 14 string WARR which I like playing more.

  • Really great cover, amazing idea doing it on the Warr Guitar

It's also nice to finally see someone getting into it when they're playing, too :D

  • @Caconymic Thanks.

  • Very cool video. Cool instrument and really nice playing!

  • @ghorton Thanks

  • yo dude i got dat pedal too wat setting u using is it like a preset one or is it one u made urself

  • @residentevilfan224 You mean the pitchfactor? It is a preset octave up patch. I tweaked it a little to get the timing of the sweep up the octave to match the way he does it in the song.

  • Very nice work brother!!! I've been playing the Stick since 96, but I'm dieing to get a Warr Guitar. Great choice of song BTW.

  • @Swaganimations Thanks Keep saving those pennies, worth every one.

  • All these finger movements look really complicated, although it's "just" the bass voice you're playing. How did Justin Chancellor manage to play this on a normal bass guitar? Is this because he can use open strings which you don't have?

Almost forgot to say, your playing style is astonishingly accurate, dynamic and the body movements tell you really dig what you are doing :) Convincing effects as well.

(5:18 - lucky you managed this in time :)

  • @NicoA47 Justin Chancellor gets a ton of mileage out of 4 strings by using the Whammy Pedal and his guitaristic style. The reason my playing looks so complicated is that....it is! The lack of open strings makes it really hard to achieve the same voicings that traditional bass players would use. Pedal tones, repeating the same note rapidly, is especially difficult and most of the time is performed across 2 different strings. Thanks for the comments.

  • this is so cool. you're an awesome player man

  • Thank you very much

  • Sounds great! How much was that WARR guitar? Must have been at least $5,000.

  • $3k used

  • Does have a zero fret ?. It looks a bit different around the damper to me.

    BTW ...it sounds great.

    Happy new year

    -lennart

  • Hey Brother. I had to get these out of my system because I need to move on to writing my own stuff. I have taken two thick pieces of velcro (the fuzzy side) and placed them under the 1st and second frets. This provides better damping than other methods I've seen. On my other WARR I even use the hook side of the velcro and mate it over the top of the strings for even more damping. I
