  • Wow! This came out in 1987, and predicted the CD player to be the defacto media, and what's up with that Matrix like graphic at 21:36 ? Very accurate, except for the part where the earth died, not yet anyways.

  • The music was killing my ears!!!!

  • Fuck me, watch the first 3mins then the last 3mins, save yourself the hassel of watching this nonsense

  • 4:30 Power for the CD player?

  • Smosh brought me hear

  • @MegaBshock *here

  • I would've thought this would be scary

  • wow, this is annoying. the old twilight zone was never this annoying in its espousal of activism. what a crude and incoherent mess.

  • @zackhanscom what do you expect will happen with the current path people are on? they kill and suck up and burn and cut down everything in sight for the want of currency. I dont see a bright future for earth with how things are going. Let them make a show with lightly veiled message because some folks are just too damn simple to read between the lines and even when they are confronted with the facts, they still ignore it. I miss the natives..they were the true shepherds of earth not the west.

  • Wow...I knew I recognized that face and that voice! The African-American astronaut in this show is a very young Tim Russ who went on to become Tuvok from "Star Trek Voyager" about eight years after this show aired. For that matter, Jenny Agutter looks damn good considering that this show was filmed more than ten years after her role as Jessica in the film "Logan's Run"...

  • Rod Serling warned about political correctness run amok and he escaped that with his Twilight Zone series (not that the themes were that controversial). But this environmentalist messaging isn't even subtle.

  • ha ha its mr belding !!

  • Just two questions: A good episode or the greatest episode ever". BTW, I think that Martin Balsam was Martin's father in the Twilight Zone episode, written by Serling, called "Walking Distance: A favorite of mine. Am I wrong?

  • Lame

  • What is Tuvok doing there? Why did he smile?

  • This was horrible. I think they just made up the story as they went along.

  • 15:56 Mr bledzo, kindly SHUT UP!!! Love that part :)

  • I WANT TO SLIDE MY TENTACLE UP HER

  • that's one resilient CD player

  • is that woman from the railway children original. looks an awful lot like her.

  • @Rowan07001484 Yes, it's Jenny Agutter, who played the eldest child in "The Railway Children". She was also the leading actress in "Logan's Run".

  • @DianeMaria100

yeh, and she was also in the remake of the railway children I'm sure. But this time she played the mother.

  • I'm amazed that we still have cds even today...

I thought something else would have taken over by now.

they had cds in the 80's? bugger me. I never realised that. we didn't have a cd player until middle 90's. just a tape player and a record player.

  • HOLY SHITE, is that TUVOK from ST Voyager? Yep, without the ears, lol.

  • These peoples spacesuit pajamas crack me up and their space ship looks like it was designed by 3rd grade cub scout troupe...he he hilarious! Without Rod Sterling this series is lost.

  • 9:15 - Darth Vader

  • 4:20 I think perhaps the laser eye might have a spot of dust on it that would prevent playing of the compact disc

  • I ONCE FUCKED JENNY A IN THE BACK OF MY FORD CAPRI

  • He shall have no name in the earth!

  • I still get reminded of Twilight Town from KH no matter what xD

  • Oh man. That totally left me with a sweet feeling at the end .

  • is that tuvok from star trek voyager? was he having only small rolls or was he on vulkan from 1985 to 95?

  • @mikeliko01 Yes that is Tim Russ.

  • @mikeliko01 Yes and Screech’s Principle and iCarley's Principle.

  • IM GONG OUT NOW TO BURN SOME TYRES

  • what song at 4:27?

  • awwwww :3

  • is that diana rigg??? the writing & directing is slow in this one...just weak premise...still better than american idol, survivor(s), and lost put together!!! hahah! 8]

  • @1776AmericaFirst Fuck off, you Truthers lost.

  • @1776AmericaFirst....... fucking idiot

  • After about three minutes, it stops playing.

  • Man that one was REALLY bad.

  • I'm glad JJ Evans found a job in the future.

  • This had better have one massive twist at the end because 13 minutes in it's really boring!

  • I couldn't understand why Martin Balsam, normally such a great actor, was so bad in this, until I figured out at about 7:00 that he's READING his lines!

  • Sweet Mr Belding

  • hey tuvok!!!!! wow

  • "not even simple amino acids"... come on, thats a bit far fetched. humans may make the planet uninhabitable for themselves, but for sure bacteria and so on will continue to survive. simple organisms have been found in the freezing wastes of antarctica, at the very bottom of the oceans where no light penetrates, and kilometres into the ground.

  • What a racist episode ! Only white souls !! Hehehehehehehehe

  • belding!!!

  • 80's = special effects sucks, story rocks...

20's = special effects rocks, story sucks...

Sorry Twilight, but I'll stick with my Twilight Zone...

  • @crankhead28 I disagree--special affects today suck ass. Movies look the shittiest today they have ever looked. A miniature from the '70s (or '30s) didn't look realistic, but it looked REAL. It was impressive because of the work that went into it. CGI is so goddamn boring. There is hardly a movie that was made better by CGI. Compare Close Encounters, original Star Wars, either of the first two King Kongs (33 or 78) to the shit they make today. You're right the writing sucks.

  • @crankhead28

TV was never about the special effects.

It's all based on story, characters and actors.

  • what the hell? Tuvok, the lady from An American Werewolf in London, and at 0:55 mr Belding from Saved by the Bell are all in this? LOL what a star studded cast!

  • Hang on... TUVOK???

  • Wow. An old, dusty, probably scratched up, millenium old CD that still works flawlessly on a beaten-up, old portable CD player. Without batteries. And you get surround sound without a sound system! Or the power-grid! :D

  • @ 4:30 . . that CD plays pretty good after 1000 years or so. What happened to Tuvok's ears and smart assed Vulcan quips?? LOL.

  • I do agree that the twilight zone should be brought back, but these new episodes from the 80's are a huge disappointment. The plot for this episode was ridiculous. Bring back stuff that can compare to the classics.

  • Despite what you have seen in this episode of twilight zone, you still have too many questions in your head. That makes you, ... still.... in the TWILIGHT ZONE ! (music please...)

  • love the "pro" evolution slant to this. Seriously, twilightzone needs to be brought back- at least to the classrooms!

  • @OrthodoxAnarchy lol so they need to sprout pro stupid and be creationist?

  • I love how the professor knows so much about atmosphere and chemicals, but he asks the captain in the beginning "So what's that yellow thing on the planet" . . .

  • @snackarskitgratis He asked about the "sickly, yellow color" surrounding the earth, not the earth itself.

  • damn niggas cant even be ghost

  • This reminds me of Ghost Ship..

  • -- CD players and sound systems still work after a thousand years?

  • Jeez,I'm the only one to notice that the only people on Earth are all white ghost people with 80's hairdo's?....we beat the Chinese?

  • @knowallcity ..and why do they always land in what is an American looking city - what happened to New Delhi or Cape Town?

  • jenny agutter is HOT

  • Belding oh shit!

  • I'm confused about why they're out of a job after life forms develop on the previously barren earth.

  • ken russ was on Star Trek Voyaguer. tuvok.

  • TUVOCK!!!!!

  • Ah! He found some CD's and a CD player!

It cost people a fortune back then but the sound quality was AMAZING!

  • @Waxer3929 It is kind of funny that one as old as that one and caked with dust would still function after all that time. Let alone still have a functional power source.

  • I don't get it

  • 15:35 Hey it's Mr Belding. I always hated that spineless wuss of a principal.

  • Does anyone knows the title of the piano song from min. 4?

  • @AlexMafteiu Chopin's Nocturne Op no. 9 part 2

  • Comment removed

  • "It would take at least thousands of years for the simplest lifeform to develop, it's like speeding up evolution". So basically, something came out of nothing? That's logical...

  • why for god they want a BODY . being a SOUL is so cool and efficient

  • @homoKaliptus The 3 dimensional physical experience is also.....cool.

  • Gosh the 80's were sweet

  • @Marino12Jones

Sure, the 80s were great, but they had one major drawback:

    No Rod Serling!

  • Fatal mistake for a Twilight Zone episode: reveal the twist at the start of the episode.

  • @MuonRay what do you mean by Twist ?

  • @homoKaliptus that the dead planet haunted by ghosts was Earth.

  • @MuonRay no , these explorers are supposed to be very advanced so they have enough information about galaxies and planet , simply to avoid being lost in the univers , so theu must know the names of every planet the approach

  • I love the majority The Twilight Zone. But boy! This episode SUCKS. First of all they should dispensed with all the "Global Warming Conspiracy Crap". and 2: All that the spirit-people had to do was show themselves to the others. And explain their damn situation! Hello!. What a waste of money this episode was.

  • Mr. Belding!!!!! LOL

  • I guess these astronauts of the future didn't have any recording equipment they could bring along as they went about exploring the barren planet Earth. Old man astronaut Martin Balsam wouldn't have come across so foolish and delusional to pretty lady commander Jenny Agutter and the rest of the crew if he had been able to show them recorded evidence of the existence of those ghostly people apparitions...

  • that professor is a Moron

  • Hehehe. 7:33 this woman played 'Emmanuel' in the infamous porn videos of the 1970s, Sister Emmanuel etc etc

  • that's jenny agutter. Logan's Run Jessica 5.

  • @mariposasabia yeah, I already thought I knew her, she also played the nurse in American Werewolf in London

  • @LeandroJesskint she also played in Equus its a messed up 1970s flick. A boy and his psychoitic relationship to horses. Later played on broadway by Daniel Radcliff.

  • Excellent episode!

  • rod searling was one of the greatest writers.Shame he had to die at an early age.Tv has never been the same for decades. Thanks for the downloads.

  • It's funny when he's telling them off and it gets to "...more courage and dignity..." and it's a close up of a little girl, as if she made the bad decisions that hurt the world.

When he said he'd be a new man, I figured the spirits had taken him over despite his speech, that they screwed him over.

It would have been funny near the end if when the lady said "...oh my god, he's right!" at 21:36, she followed it with "the instruments ARE damaged, the old man WAS just nuts..."

  • Tuvok...just another Star Trek actor in TZ or The outer limits.

  • ho ho ho! Tuvok! Always surprising to see actors in earlier roles.

  • @Lulungameena There are a lot of Star Trek actors in TZ and Outer limits eps..old and new, before and after they were famous.

  • they should bring back twilight zone thumbs up if you agree!

  • Is ficcion, but I think that wil hapen after the humans complet kill the earth.

  • what a piece of shit.

  • Tuvok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for this

  • I don't remember seeing this one before. Thanks for posting!

  • it's mr.belding, he's a goast!
