its ok to have surgery to improve pitching(tommy john surgery), its ok for a trainer to give cortisone shots and pain killers before a game so the player can play, but god fuckin forbid a player wants to help himself heal by taking HGH..this is all political..the medical profession makes no money on HGH..only pain killers..please , I want to hear a player stand up and say, " so what , I did" its my body and I chose to help my body heal after all the abuse this sport has given it"
I am so pissed this is even an issue congress needs to look into. Its fucking ridiculous. Why does congress need to be involved in this? Arrest both of them end of story. Prosecute them normally. Congress needs to go to work to fix our economy and the big question there isif this guy took steroids? WHO GIVES A FUCK!
they can't arrest him because no crime has been commited, this is just a dog and pony show and congress is wiping their ass with our tax money, going what are you people going to do about it? It pissed me off that they gave Clemens a claus to not attend games so he could see his family when Jorge posada has a kid with a dibilitating disease and he doesn't get the special treatment. the Yankee managemnet are a bunch of star fuckers
melky, kennedy and clippard are worth much more than Santana
anyways our economy has gone to shit and these assholes are in there debating about something that doesn't even matter to the rest of the world. What is the point of all this non sense?
Why the hell is that any business of congress. Its perjury and Clemens should be held at the same standard as everyone else. I don't think Congress should even be worrying about baseball. You know who else lied under oath, Albeto Gonzalez. We need a congressional hearing in regards to that corrupt piece of shit
I don't care if he gives money to the Republican party or Democrats but these are our tax dollars trying to convict a man before Congress. I understand it is against the law to use steroids but our congressmen need to do real work like investigating Alberto Gonzalez.
All Roger said today in DC was what a great, trustworthy rold model he is. Basically, self-promoting himself without even responding to the allegations. He probably took the juice so he can play an extra few seasons and add to his retirement nugget - it's all about the cash & greed in the end.
I've lost a lot of respect for the guy - hope the press goes after his whitey ass like they went after that black dude, Bonds. That may be asking too much, though.
Mr. Weggemann, when anyone can give me even one good sound reason why macanneny would tell the truth about pettitte but then turn around and lie about clemens, then i'll consider that clemens might be telling the truth. oh, and i'll also need to hear why pettitte would lie about about his good buddy Roger. until then, accept it man, rocket's a lying sack of s-h-i-t. it's just too bad rich people don't have to go to prison in this country.
The law states it's not up to a man to prove his innocence, it's up the accuser to prove guilt. He may very well be lying, but until it's proven without a shadow of a doubt our laws state he should be seen innocent. As I commented below, it may not be the most just or accurate way of determining outcomes, but until it's changed it should be applied.
It's not the law? What do you think Congress' job is? 99% of America doesn't know, they assume. There's no evidence that's 100% fool proof. Why do you think they had the hearing?
Well Andy Petitie is a credible eye witness and Roger's answer to him ratting him out was "Andy was misheard", now in a court of law that is not gonna hold up
His answer was "Andy misremembered", and why wouldn't that hold up. In Psychology you'll learn that what a person percieves is their reality. If Andy believes he remembers a conversation 7 years ago, he will state it's true regardless of whether he can remember the details.
r u serious, dude Andy said in his affavdit that the reason he came out with truth is b/c he has to answer to God, and he is not gonna make up a conversation like that, serioulsy are u like Roger's kid or something b/c n one in america belives this guy but u
His ego is too big to admit the truth,it's clear to anyone (now)with half a brain cell that he used them quite regularly.Deny,deny,deny,........I have a feeling he'd say his own wife misssaw even if she caught him with a needle stuck in his ass
Clemens today proved today without a shadow of a doubt that he is a liar. He was squirring and beating around the bush the whole time, to sum up the preceding,How does is anyone expected to believe that Clemens best friend who is always totally honest, and religious and is not an idiot, lied when he said Clemens talked to him about the stuff, and everyone knows that MacNeeme is a weasel but he was proved accurate on Knobluck and Petitie and these guys all trained together!!!! come on get a clue!
We're basing our opinion of the greatest pitcher in baseball on the word of a drug dealing, ex-cop, who posed as a Dr., and admitted several times, under oath, to lying to Authorities. What does Clemens have 2 do 2 prove his innoncence? Everyone's made their minds already, and there's nothin Clemens can do to bring light to his innoncence. I hope if any of you are ever alleged to have committed an illegal act you're given the benefit of the doubt as our government states you should receive.
hmmmm there is one stat you failed to mention, that is Clutch, Clemens is a choke artist in the playoffs and Schilling aint, neither is Smoltz of Galvaine or Maddux, hell Yohan is even on his way to being better
come on man, as a yankee fan I'd like to believe the man too, but he's just trying to salvage his legacy, and all he's doing is making it worse, because as a deacent man he is not very good at lying. although given that people think this is important enough to have a congressional hearing, I guess you can't blame the guy for lying, I'm sure like a lot of us, he's thinking "this is about sports right?, I'm not being charged with terrorism or something?"
I despise the Yankees. I'm an Astros fan, and hated Roger when he left to go back to New York. But it's clearly stated "Innoncent until proven Guilty". There's is no gray area, and unless he can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt he should be seen as innocent. I'll agree it may not be an accurate way of determining things, but it's the law. We can't cherry pick the situations to which we want to administer it.
Another example of "tell the fucking truth". Lying will comeback to bite you in the ass everytime. Take your medician at the outtake. As Cristopher Walken said in "True Romance", after punching Dennis Hopper in the nose, "that hurts don't it?, but what I have to offer you, that's the best it's ever gonna get, and it will never be that good again."
I don't mean to dismiss this, but are there not more important social issues that need adressing. We are at war, we have people on the streets (that do not choose to be there) etc. It just strikes me as odd. Let the league punish these people, but it should not be treated like a government crisis. Just my 2 cents.
clemens, you got caught...might as well surrender.
in auto racing, if a team gets caught using illegal technology, the team gets fined alot of money and suspended from racing that season. i don't believe congress has ever gotten involved nor has taxpayer money. indy car, formula 1, what have you, just handles it themselves.
mlb keeps letting athletes "get away' with things and now it's come down to this...
Its not just misuse of funds its a deriliction of duty.
Basically congress are saying flat out to the poeple that impeachment hearings about attacks ion the constitution are not important enough for congressional time but iegal if questionable use of drugs in sport is.
There is no clearer declaration of how much contempt politicians have for the people.
this is an abuse of tax payer money, I'd like to know what the grand total of these proceedings is. What about people who don't care about baseball? should they be paying for this? Let MLB pck up the tab or coduct the hearings themselves, this is about MLB rules banning steriod use, Why else would they have a hearing about hear say evidence of any person drug use 7 years pior? this is not a legal proceeding, it's just a flagrent misuse of tax payer's money and it should be stopped

You are right. Steroid investigations should be kept in courts, not in congress.

You can't spell and are an admitted racist so why should anyone care what you think?
Blackie wants to see whitey do down, huh? That's the logic you rely on. Ha! What a loser.
You live on the bottom for reason. Think about that while your throwing stones at a guy that actually did something with their life.
Maybe if you did something with your life you wouldn't be so angry.

Best pitcher ever how bout Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Curt Schiling, Cy Young, Just to tip the iceberg
WFaN4600 4 years ago
I didn't say baseball history. He is currently the best pitcher still playing. Curt Schilling doesn't have an argument statistically,
Clemens: 354 wins, 3.12 era, 4672 K's, 7 Cy Young Awards
Schilling: 216 wins, 3.46 era, 3116 K's, 0 Cy Young Awards.
As far as history, he's not clearly the greatest pitcher of all time, but his name could be mentioned with a valid argument.
