@tom67264 - not really sure. but other airplanes do not have that. so i don't think it makes much of a difference. or maybe i'm wrong.

@tom67264 Winglets increase range and decrease fuel burn by lessening the vortices created by the tips of the wings. The decreased air disruption leads to less drag and thus the reduced fuel burn, more noticed on longer ranged flights.

@tom67264 Theres no winglets here, Theres raked wing tips on this 767-400ER.

They both serve the same purpose, Lowering drag. Picture this wing with LOW pressure air on top and HIGH on the bottom. At the very tip the air mixes and High goes to Low and creates a wing tip vortex which is a form of drag. Winglets inhibit this from occurring.

Continental Airlines does not have an MD-11 in there fleet. They never had one. You can tell by the seat configuration that its a B767 and how long it is that its a B767-400ER. Don't say things you don't know

i love honolulu. i have only been there once, but i loved my experience. except for the bad sunburn that i got lol. i have been flying on planes all my life and i still think it is scary during takeoff. but, i make it through and cannot wait for landing because i LOVE the feeling of landing.

ah, i didn't get to go around hawaii. we just had a layover of some hours and took off to Guam. But the airport was nice, hehe. Last time I got around Hawaii was 1992, so I'm sure a lot has changed.

Hey im only 13 and ive flown lots of places around the world....the takeoff all you gota do is close your eyes and breathe through your nose you wont even feel like your on a plane its more like bein in a car:) hope that helps

Ahhh, not really sure but I think a chewing gum will help do the job. also, if you have fear of heights, don't sit in the window seat, and I guess you can busy yourself with a magazine during take-offs so the next thing you know, it's time to eat, the best part of my airplane rides, hehe.

just like what demarcjw said, ask a steward if u could sit away from the window and don't feel tempted to look down. Just relax completley and enjoy the feeling as u soar higher and higher. I'm going to Nebraska from LA BY MYSELF in 3 weeks! YAY!! :D Have fun!

I'm 23 and have never ridden in a plane. I'm honestly sort of afraid to, the take-off seems like a roller coaster ride and I hate roller coasters and am scared of heights :s

Hi there! Yeah it may be scary the first time, but it's not as scary as you think. If you're not used to heights, that's understandable. But inside the plane you don't really feel the heights, unlike in a roller coaster, coz in the latter you really feel the winds and yourself being thrown about, but inside the plane, you just sit there comfortably. =)

only upon takeoff do you feel a tiny bit of force. The rollercoaster is 2 times greater than this. Seriously. Flying is awesome.

flying in planes is actually fun when you are up in the sky, and i have been flying all my life and i still find takeoff a little scary. but, if you are anything like me (you would have to experiment a little), i think that landing is the most fun part since it feels like, well, its kinda undescribable, but, i find it fun. its kinda like going down in a roller coaser, but much slower. also, if you are afraid of heights but still want a window seat, close it during takeoff.
