@ProzacR The comment in the video is not wrong. Molecular phylogenetics indicates that HIV-1 appeared sometime between 1884 and 1924 in equatorial Africa. It existed in the 40s, it just wasn't KNOWN to exist then.

@ProzacR I was shown this film during Basic Training in 1970 believe it or not and we were at Lackland AFB. Somebody probably screwed up the schedule for PT as we had some bad weather so they jammed this in as a sick joke or what not. My father a Naval Officer from the 30s to the 60s had told me about these films and the mass condom hand outs that followed.
