  • i hate how these tourists buy aboriginal t-shirts without knowing anything about aboriginals, the country and the culture. they just think if you play didge its cool to have the black, red and yellow colours as a flag on your shirt.

you dont need a traditional aboriginal flag t-shirt to play didgeridoo....

especially if the didge isnt even made from eucalyptus and the music isnt traditional either.

  • 23 people cant say thank you while playing the didgeridoo

  • @megaplatypus That are socalled 'Claves'.

  • The sound he makes at :17, it looks like he's clanking some rocks together. Are they just rocks or do they have a name?

  • @megaplatypus They're Aboriginal instruments (like the didgeridoo he's playing). They're known simply as 'clapsticks' or 'claves'. An Aboriginal name for them is 'bimli' (according to Wikipedia).

  • I love it...go to about 38 seconds and then he will point to the crowd, then his money thing...lol

  • catchy...

  • wow

definitely I would buy any cd this guy would be selling, awesome stuff

and btw, 45 pounds for the instrument isn't really expensive

  • who said 45 pounds was expensive lol? cuz they don't know anything. I spent in excess of £300 on a didgeridoo including shipping and customs from the US to UK, and I've currently got on order a custom didge [again from america] which will cost in total at least £500. and no i don't have any vids of me playing unfortunately, webcam's seriously shit. bad quality, and it makes the vid and sound out of sync.

  • It all depends what the didge is made of !!! some peeps dont want to lay out for AUTHENTIC didge as they my not like it or be into it that much, so they buy plastic/bamboo or man made i.e cut and hollowed by man instead of the natural one hollowed out by termites! And to be honest m8 if your that into it whf are you buying from the states for instead of supporting the Aboriginal culture and heritage of the instrument you seen to love so much! I made mine in Byron bay @ the arts factory!

  • lol yeh i am "that into it", but i jus prefer the qualities of didges pretty exclusive to america lol. don't worry, next time i buy a didge, i'll be looking for an ex- aboriginal community mago. it's jus i dn't think the aborigines make didges out of agave lol so i have to get from america [agave is better for makin lower key didges, if u didn't notice the best aboriginal ones tend to be the higher pitched ones lol]

  • Fair play m8 i see wr ya comin from!! mine is authentic didg and in a D miner key ( soz dont know how to write it properly :)) and well deep and has a good bass sound especially if i play it in to a corner of a room! What key are you going for? Thank you kindly for the info i did not know all !!! :)

  • my first epoxy sealed leather didge by marko johnson is at D sharp, the agave custom by jeff lohr is a low A, and when I buy a mago i'll be looking for E, E sharp or F. lol what did u mean by D minor? minor is a scale, did u mean sharp, natural or flat?

  • Fair play ! i got told or me didge got tested in Cairns and both guys told me she was a D- (miner)! now im into me music but you have lost me know m8 as i know nothing of scales and keys! :) if you are saying this sounds wrong i feel i should take to my local instrument shop and get her checked again and speak to the guy! But other Didg plays have been surprised how low and deep the sound is!

  • it's not a problem with ur didge lol, u dn't need it checked, it's jus a problem wi the music terminology used... jus a mo i think itd be better if we PM'd and kept out of the comments lol.

  • no offense m8 !!!! up2 you how ya spend ya QUEENS ED M8 obviously !!!! im JUST REALY ANTI american at the mow !!!! hope ya new Didge is worth the money and make you happy! :)

  • these street performers are amazing. All of them. anyone know how much a didgeridoo costs?

  • erm well i picked my new one up today i used to have one but went funny with the wood cant remember what happend to that now but... mine today second hand cost me £45

  • lol, He pwnz... Anyone know his name?

  • lmao awesummm

  • 0:21 dont point that thing at me!

    (thats what they were thinking)

  • that girl at the end is dope

  • Olha a multidão de curiosos que se forma ! xD

  • sounds great

  • thank you*

  • hay did he say like thnak you to the girl when sge gave money?

  • It did sound that way:)

  • lol yh it looked like it

  • yes. Its actually quite common for didgeridoo buskers to say 'thankyou' through their didge when somebody puts money in their hat, it's quite a novel way to say thankyou :)

  • very nice video, and it really matches the music behind lol cool MAN:)

  • i fucking hate idiots that dont read the video description and info before posting a comment.

  • that's awesome, too bad there wasn't someone playing music on every street :D

  • LOL!

  • prety shure its in brisbane at queen street

  • groovy as!

  • lol that's so funny. Where is this, sydney?

  • Read the info box ???

  • nice to see as a novilty but there is a lotmore behind the didgeridoo but wood like a cd of this

  • Damn fuckn funky good <3

  • that was one of the coolest didgeridoo jams ive seen in a while!

  • Riiiiiiiiiiiiiicooooooooooolaaaaaaaa!. LOL. Wicked video

  • DUDE!!!

    hella sick

  • can someone plz tell me where i can get something from him .....

hear it 7 times and u got a new addiction

    blessin

  • Oh man U ARE ROCKIN

    BLESSIN

  • Now this is a better didge player then that other crappy video

  • lol

  • thanks for the upload ^ ^

  • it's about respect for aboriginal ppl's culture, not mine, no-ones fighting, just stating a fact, the has been desecrated and blasphemed for to long and how we do start to eduace ppl? by letting them know our law of the didj, it isn't just a novelty. So it's alright for ppl to hurt aboriginal ppl and break our spirit is it? sound like you don't like it happening to you, but thats how aboriginal ppl feel , so now you know how it feels...

  • Why do we have to fight about law...we are all mortal in the end and our flesh will die...we are all red on the inside and all have some type of opinion...but that doesnt mean we have to express it to hurt others feelings or break spirit...let the past be the past and lets make a good thing of the future no matter what nationality color or upbringing religion or religious beliefs are...lets Love thy neigbor which now includes the internet.. Thanks

  • hah thazz badass, pure stoner entertainment to some, my brother used to make n play them

    when i was little

  • I don't really like it...it's kind of making a novelty of a cool instrument in my opinion...but well played nonetheless.

And, Dazzadidja. If you're that pissed that us white demons are making a mockery of your sacred instrument, go do something about it besides bitching your ass of on youtube comments. sheesh...

  • your brother it is a mockery! but how can i? where do you start? who will listen? i'm not pissed at the whiteman, blackman has desecrated it for money as well, sold out their own souls, i just wanted to try and educate, sorry if i offended anyone, i give up, do what ever you want......

  • My take on it is this: the more people who listen to didgeridoo the more educated they'll become about it, and its rich history. Maybe it's a good thing that didj has caught the westerners' ears...no matter how they play it. I dunno...i mean, i started playing didj about a year ago and i've since learned more about its history and the peoples who play it than i would have ever known if i hadn't started playing it in the first place.

  • it's similar philosphy to kung fu(gung fu) it must be treated with repsect and not just used as a novelty, play it at home or with people who have the right repsect, good on ya bro for wanting to learn, but like you said don't treat it as a novelty...

  • how would you like it if aboriginal people came to your country took your sacred objects and claimed them for ourselves? we don't, have respect for our sacred object, it's not a novelty to make money out of, respect our culture, easy said then done i suppose!!

  • Dude you're an Aboriginal Christian...nuff said.

  • hey dude i know my culture, i've been thru law and it's the same law as God's, which is "love your enemies" when youv'e been thru aborigianl law, you can judge me, enough said.

  • But yu can judge everyone else? Thats kind of my point...

  • i'm not ,he broke law by playin the didj drunk and with no songman or dancer as well which is what you are supposed to do, but if you knew our law you wouldn't be speaking in ignorence, regardeles of religion, it's like a jew or muslim eating pork, playing the didj drunk is the same, but you wouldn't know that would you?

  • Fantastico!!!!

  • iam from far north queensland and i have been taught how to play the didgeridoo from the guugu yimidthirr eldars and i have so much respect towards them

  • well if you learnt of them you would learn where it came from, what is the story behind them having it, how did they get it? I'll tell you if you want to know? or you can go back and ask them. Which elders taught you?

  • Here we go another whiteman ripping off the blackman, sounds crap looks crap and he should go back to crap!! and xavier rudd isn't that good either he ripped off a aboriginal man and never gave him no credit, a real dogs act, the true masters are in arnhem land Australia or north Queensland, so go and learn of them, stop being fools and be humble, if you can take the advice, which you probaly won't!!! and show off they all love to do, stop showing off.... when you aren't that good!!!!

  • "Here we go another whiteman ripping off the blackman, sounds crap looks crap and he should go back to crap!!" the irony

A nother point your speeking english. Do you know where it came from? How it orginated? The spiritul meaning behind it?

you see most of us are not luky to be tutard at all in the sound of the didg. i teach my self.

  • wajinda, migloo gurree goo, gurre binungs" i can speak both languages and english was inforced on my people without our consent, and english originated from the germanic tribes, mostly the saxon's then spread to the ango's in england where it combined to create our english of today, and I do know where the didj came from and the spiritual meaning behind it, but do you really want to know? or is so you can keep on with your blaspheme? let me know if want to really learn about the didj?

  • I have been playing the didge my whole life... this is not the reason to learn the didge. And by the sound of this guy.. he is putting out a bad name for the true sound of a Didgeridoo. If you have not heard the didge before look up Xavier Rudd - Gift of the trees.

  • That is the dogs bollocks mate, nicely done.

  • thats brill. any more vids with music like this?
