Beautiful song! If anyone decries his faith they aren't listening to the beauty song but their own ideas of religion and a small definition of Allah/God ... or I should say, they are making God a man, not trying to make men closer to God. He's sharing beautiful music, godly music ... the problem is not with him but with the listener. It's ashame that he was involved with a sect of Islam that hid this great talent from the world.

@alikool0001 well, this is a brother that has read the Koran, studied the faith personally and knows enough to realize others obviously didn't understand what I wrote, missed the entire point and responded by saying I had "half knowledge", when there's far more hot comments here to respond to. I said nothing about hardcore music being banned. I said it hid HIS (Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam) music and that is more a criticism of his actions than anything related to Islam.

I knew him as a true Muslim. Today he is deviated and far away from Islam and even mixed with music and kuffar. An example of if deviate little at first it ll take u far from the truth. He is a example for that. May Allah guide him again to the right path.

Hm. @antken01...you only speak for yourself, certainly not me. I was a teen when Rushdie's book caused such a ruckus and I saw on the news fans burning Cat's albums...one even used a steamroller and crushed his collection! What a terrible shame. It was with great excitement that I bought this cd when it came out and this song took my breath away. Still does. I'm glad he cme back to us to share his beautiful music. Music is something that should help unite us all.

@antken01 1) It's Yusuf, not Yusof. 2) Yusuf Islam is his legal and chosen name. Putting it in parentheses and in between Cat and Stevens makes it a) a nickname b) a middle name, and also says that Cat Stevens is still his name, which unfortunately (because it's a cool name) it is not. 3) Salman Rushdie is no more of a freedom fighter than you or I. He made what was considered by (especially fundamentalist) muslims to be an irreverent depiction of Muhammad, nothing more.
