@bremenlegation: A bunch of crappy metalcore bands at a show in Michigan? No way!
It was such a shock when I moved to FL and everyone in the DIY scene here hated MI, but after seeing the way things are done here, it really makes you sad for the suckers up north who don't "get it."
@diplodocuscore dont knock the whole state for a couple crappy bands that just happened to play that show (cast ahead and avarice, both of whom were NOT EVEN FROM MICHIGAN (avarice=canadians/cast ahead=wisconsin) michigan had a ton of good bands during the 90s, thoughts of ionesco, wallside, nema, hamilton, fable, insogrey, quixote, ottawa, jihad, ect ect.........equal to anything florida was pumping out at the time....
@agricola I didn't mean to implicate that the entire state has always had a shitty scene. I'm speaking from my experience growing up in the Metro Detroit area half a decade later. I don't know anything about this show or the two metalcore bands mentioned. I was just a wee lad when bands like CWV and ROM were active, and lived far from GR and Lansing where I might have had a chance to see them. In the suburbs south of Detroit all we had was a bunch of fashioncore bands trying to get on Victory.
man they did things way different back then, or maybe it's just that particular "sub-sect" of "the scene". i mean with offering to add them to a list with a phone number to answer questions about what a song is about or whatever? come on, you can't get anymore down to earth than that.
as i saw love played this show.....and sucked
