That is some amazing scenery. If I get a chance to go to Japan, I am having you take me around. You know all the nice areas and the great food to enjoy.
This is actually about the same time I stood there and shot some shots for the Better Place video. To bad we didn't bump in to one an other. I really love Arashiyama, it's one of the better parts of Kyoto, I believe I could grow old there. Maybe live up in that old passed away actors house next to the bamboo grove. Nice video Kev, now I really miss Arashiyama!
...you know what i have noticed that in japan slurping noodles is ok......haha im going to japan soon for my graduating present i cant wait to try alll the good food thanks for the vids keep goin i love them!!
lol no Kevin. I was only there for a short stay. I stayed in the Tokyo area and ate a bunch of different food. I'm just sayin I really miss eating real good authentic Japanese food. It's very hard to find Japanese restaurants run by Japanese people in the states.
I was a little apprehensive watching this vid at a time when I'm a little bit hungry & dinner is an hour an a 1/2 away. But since I always enjoy your vids I couldn't resist. Now I'm very hungry lol...The udon beef noodles looked oishii & what a great location for a restaurant...cool vid mate : )
Ahah really? Thanks, I didnt know the exact currency different. I just looked at the back of a book I have and for US its 6.99 and CA is 8.99 and guesstimated :p
the only two countries akg has every played live in is Korea and Japan....they need to go to USA of USA fans. but i am now japan, so i can go to any concert!
Not a big fan of Udon but looking at the one you had in the vid look freakin' tasty. You said the beer was cheap there. How much? and does Kyoto have there own brewed beer there?
I once went to a Japanese culture festival in Canada and they served Udon. Oishikatta! :) I would love to try another flavor of Udon... that one you have there looks pretty good!

Hey, Kevin: Sorry to inundate you with so many positive comments and ?'s, ?'s, ?'s!
I am wondering what are the ingredients in what you eat, please?
Can you give us a bit of a recipe, possibly?
Can you make Udon soups with soba noodles?
(Your wife is GORGEOUS, btw)
I adore Japanese food, as well! I love sushi, octopus, squid, seaweeds of all type!
GimmeKitty 1 year ago
@GimmeKitty you can't make udon with soba noodles, since soba noodles are made from buckwheat .. It would taste really odd...

@xxHartBrokenxx Thank you for this reply. I appreciate it.

Y'know, it's that 'sweet' taste that turns me off of most of the Japanese food I've tried. Nice to see you again.
cosmicjackpot 2 years ago
The sweetness in this dish really surprised me. i wasn't expecting. I have definitely had better udon before, but it was pretty good nonetheless!

You should make a video of Kobe beef or Japanese marbled beef which nobody has done at least.
Tnakamura11 2 years ago
I don't think I can afford to make that video. Good Kobe beef usually goes for 100-200$ a plate!
