Dad got the cyst "sac" out that had been both the cause of the ear lump and the container of all that stringy cheezy goodness that kept getting squeezed out :p Great job! With the cyst sac gone, it can't refill and grow back. A nice small incision too, that won't leave a scar and I bet hardly bled at all once the "egg" popped out : ) Great support crew and great job all around! Thx for sharing : )

@dfdemt Actually, most kitchen knives are stainless steel - it doesn't rust. Besides that, I would bet money that they sterilized it first (either via heat or rubbing alcohol), so it is perfectly sanitary. You can't even really argue about it's sharpness, either, because obviously it worked.
You guys are the worst cyst removers ever. an exacto knife dipped in rubbing alcohol is both sterile and sharp enough to do a good job. That took for ever and probably triple the pain.

best way to deal with spots like that when you don't see a doctor is to take a washcloth with as hot water as you can stand and hold it on the area, will draw the infection to the surface and it can then open up and drain on it's own.
