Idiots. Should have pull the cable and gotten it out. An XLR mic cable has a clip that secures the cable to the mic.

Also, I have heard of an SM58 being fine after being used as a hammer. First time I've seen one swallowed though.

@dumbo800 Using it as a hammer, won't make that 58 sound any better mate. Rugged or not, it's outdated technology that doesn't cut the latest systems out there. On one of my first "worst" world tours, we got supplied 58's down in Aust (the so called "industry standard" down there..) Put it this way, it sounded dreadful through my earpiece. That's cheesy grille looks like a tow ball, and if you take it off it's an SM57. How bipolar.. Honestly, the old SM58 makes a perfect door stop. ;-)
