A little logic here. Materia lowers your HP and other stats when equipped, right? Because Tifa just got most of those chunked out of her, she's probably got a shit load of health left enough in her to take all those blows. Materia is a double edged-sword.
Not when your supplemented by stat-increasing Materia. (Purple Materia) which actually serves to increase stats like stamina, strength, speed ect. And considering how many of those purple Materia she had stuffed in her body, she was benefiting far more from the Materia than anything else. So when she lost those pieces, she would grow slower, and weaker against an opponent like Hitomi. :)
@REChronic54 she wouldn't of gone quietly either would've been hard to kidnap or capture her if she was fully powered and ready but if she was weakened to the point of collapsing into unconsciousness it would be possible to capture her

Even after watching this awesome video so many times, I just now noticed one thing peculiar. After Tifa gets shot with the arrows from the front, after the flashback they're penetrated the other way around. I'm sure it was for the sake of making the combat easier, it was just something I noticed. :B
So Tifa survrived: -A hard fight against Hitomi -A jump out of ~200 feet -A jump through a window + crash on the floor -7 slices with the sword -A sword totally stuck in her arm -A hard crash by the shockwave (with did hurt too, I bet) -About 7 Arrows in her body -Some kicks of the bad guys and fights till the total end. Man i don't want that girl to be mad at me :D

Haha, you can tell there's A LOT of Tifa fans in this audience. Everyone seemed so freaked at the end. Can't blame them though....I was losing it too. I know she's not dead, but it still hurts to see one of your fave. characters getting pummeled so badly. Still, Tifa really is one helluva woman, fighting to the end like that.

@ZeroCool1680 The feathers in the series are symbols of Rinoa. Every feather references has gone to her, since she's basically a Goddess in the Dead Fantasy universe. She teleported everyone to their respective fighting locations, who's to say she didn't bring Tifa there in the first place?
@minusxero ye but still rinoa put them to have a fair fight as in 1on1 so its not to say that the feather is only a symbol. The part where tifa crashed.. cmon .. everyone would've died after that. Would make more sence if it was a phoenix dawn (or feather w/e im german so excuse miss spelling^^)

Most likely he's going to show the next ones at the next Fanime but i'm not sure. If they're out before Fanime, they'll still show it at Fanime regardless because they actually showed the original Dead Fantasies before they showed the new ones.
Okay. So devoid of her materia and having suffered numerous, grievous injuries from someone equal to her martial arts prowess, Tifa can be knocked out IF attacked by an army of ninjas- all but TWO of which die, even after shooting her full of arrows and even shoving a SWORD IN HER ARM- and their leader who cheats by teleporting and forceshielding.
....In other words, Tifa is an invinicible god of war. She isn't dead yet.
@DrakeDraco2000 Hayate does not teleport, if you play the doa4 game, he uses an ability known as a flash step that allows him to move faster. he kas the nickname shinobi of the wind for that reason......
Hitomi is so much better than Tifa! That's why I was so happy when Hitomi pummeled Tifa into a bloody pulp and tossed her out of the church. And now Hitomi has her Materia which was even cooler! I was hoping Hitomi would say something like "Hitomi power up!" Or "Thanks for the fight!" some of her catch phrases from Dead or Alive. :)

I wish I could accept that he didn't want anyone overtly stronger then anyone else but it seems he still lets popularity choose who gets all the better moments. All the FF girls get more moments of badassery then the DOA girls by a long shot. Tifa taking on a whole legion of ninja being just one example.

However The DOA girls barely get any. Hell Hitomi, who could be said to be the only DOA girl who really gets an achievement is down played for people to sympathize more with Tifa.
@badarbiter well not to intentionally offend you if kasumi if she's a prized character of yours..but the DOA universe is more about tits and butts(and fighting) than it is about a story, and considering the broken pieces from the endings of the characters are not exactly what every person would understand...maybe that's why monty finds it easier to use the Final Fantasy characters more, because there's more context, the whole series is after all RPG adventure
@MInuhanyouM DOA has 4 games worth of story not to mention the tie in ninja gaiden games, sure its a fighting game, yeah its alot about T@A, but 4 games is still enough even for a fighting game to have decent characterization. Still this seems like its going to be a pretty long. He might just be showing more for FF at the begining and later on the DOA girls will finally get to shine. I don't hate FF, I love it especially pre-7. But DOA gets no credit where its due is all I'm saying.

Well, she wasn't actually defeated. The fight didn't end, Hayate just interfered. She could have easily made a comeback, just like Hitmoi did.
And I agree with you, she did do a lot of work. She's tough, but she's got her limits. In my opinion, and in others as well, she's one of the best in DF so far. She not only has skill, but has the will to keep going & will can get you further than you think. (:

@ZeroCool1680 The feathers in the series are symbols of Rinoa. Every feather references has gone to her, since she's basically a Goddess in the Dead Fantasy universe. She teleported everyone to their respective fighting locations, who's to say she didn't bring Tifa there in the first place?

@minusxero ye but still rinoa put them to have a fair fight as in 1on1 so its not to say that the feather is only a symbol. The part where tifa crashed.. cmon .. everyone would've died after that. Would make more sence if it was a phoenix dawn (or feather w/e im german so excuse miss spelling^^)

Most likely he's going to show the next ones at the next Fanime but i'm not sure. If they're out before Fanime, they'll still show it at Fanime regardless because they actually showed the original Dead Fantasies before they showed the new ones.

Okay. So devoid of her materia and having suffered numerous, grievous injuries from someone equal to her martial arts prowess, Tifa can be knocked out IF attacked by an army of ninjas- all but TWO of which die, even after shooting her full of arrows and even shoving a SWORD IN HER ARM- and their leader who cheats by teleporting and forceshielding.
....In other words, Tifa is an invinicible god of war. She isn't dead yet.

Hitomi is so much better than Tifa! That's why I was so happy when Hitomi pummeled Tifa into a bloody pulp and tossed her out of the church. And now Hitomi has her Materia which was even cooler! I was hoping Hitomi would say something like "Hitomi power up!" Or "Thanks for the fight!" some of her catch phrases from Dead or Alive. :)

I wish I could accept that he didn't want anyone overtly stronger then anyone else but it seems he still lets popularity choose who gets all the better moments. All the FF girls get more moments of badassery then the DOA girls by a long shot. Tifa taking on a whole legion of ninja being just one example.

@badarbiter it doesnt even have to really be popularity, he could just as easily give the characters he likes cool fight scenes. It shouldn't matter to anyone's enjoyment because there's always going to be someone saying that he did his own work wrong.

@MInuhanyouM Oh I do enjoy them no doubting that he is a genius when it comes to animation and the fighting. I'm not saying he did anything wrong with his own work. and I do enjoy it. not to mention since FF is more well known then DOA it would have more 'moments of awesome as it were'.
However The DOA girls barely get any. Hell Hitomi, who could be said to be the only DOA girl who really gets an achievement is down played for people to sympathize more with Tifa.

@badarbiter well not to intentionally offend you if kasumi if she's a prized character of yours..but the DOA universe is more about tits and butts(and fighting) than it is about a story, and considering the broken pieces from the endings of the characters are not exactly what every person would understand...maybe that's why monty finds it easier to use the Final Fantasy characters more, because there's more context, the whole series is after all RPG adventure

@MInuhanyouM DOA has 4 games worth of story not to mention the tie in ninja gaiden games, sure its a fighting game, yeah its alot about T@A, but 4 games is still enough even for a fighting game to have decent characterization. Still this seems like its going to be a pretty long. He might just be showing more for FF at the begining and later on the DOA girls will finally get to shine. I don't hate FF, I love it especially pre-7. But DOA gets no credit where its due is all I'm saying.

@DrakeDraco2000 Allow me to explain this using martial arts logic: First off,Hitomi was able to gain the upperhand is because she was using Wing-chun fist to fend against Tifa.Even that she was blinded,she doesn't has to put much effort in knowing her enemy's position since wing-chun is basically focus on center-line attack,so whoever comes in front of her in such a narrow place as a burning church will eat her fist right on the face.

@DrakeDraco2000 Secondly,Tifa was able to fend off myriads of ninja is probably obvious since she fighting them using the Northern shaolin staff technique;which was historically known for fending off thousands of imperial army during the warring times by shaolin monks before they were outnumbered and their temple was burned to the ground.The technique itself was designed to go up against masses by stunning and paralyzing their weakspot.Makes sense now?:D

Well, she wasn't actually defeated. The fight didn't end, Hayate just interfered. She could have easily made a comeback, just like Hitmoi did.
And I agree with you, she did do a lot of work. She's tough, but she's got her limits. In my opinion, and in others as well, she's one of the best in DF so far. She not only has skill, but has the will to keep going & will can get you further than you think. (:
