COPS ARE OUT OF CONTROL THEY ACT LIKE THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW. THE ONLY GOOD COP IS A DEAD COP. WANT JUSTICE? KILL A COP.. SEND THEM ALL TO HELL WHERE THEY BELONG..GOOD HUNTING
I can't stand all of these Monday morning quarterback youtube idiots. Apparently everyone went to law school on youtube!!! Bottom line none of you were there so before you start pissing all of over the cops which everyone loves to do... of course when they are behind a computer and a cop isn't there - get some perspective first!!!!!
It looked to me like when the officer grabbed his wallet, he went and tried to snatch it out of the cops hand (a big no-no). Then he advanced on the cop. Regardless of what anyone says, the fact of the matter is that police have a use of force chart that they go by. When he tried to grab for the cops hand, he became assaultive and the cops reacted accordingly. Until you've walked a beat in their shoes, you have no right to judge.
If there was a shooting, stabbing, or robbery in noho, these aholes would be no where to be found. A 65 year old man? Yup! Jonny law at your service. Reminded me of when Pedro Martinez threw Don Zimmer to the ground.
Forget who "he" is, these officers acted in an obnoxious fashion. Totally over the top.
Totally overeacted! What is this? Gestapo tactics? A friggin' 65 year old ? I don't like him or the cops, but that's not right. Hope it's a jury trial and I get seated. You're free to go Judge, have a nice day.
First, Iudge, I don't know what you had said to the officer during the moment in question because there is no audio, so your statements may have added perceived intensity to your body language and confrontational actions. Second, if you were under the influence, that doesn't help you maintain control over yourself and could result in a more hostile attitude. It doesn't matter if you are a jude, the President, or a punk, you are subject to the same laws and legal system that we all are.
It seems to me if the cops are so worried about the Judge and his law partner assaulting them , WHY, at 3:03, when Plante reaches toward the other officer at his neck, he doesn't react the way officer Kohl does when the Judge raises his hand to gesture to retun his wallet. It seems that her actions at 3:03 should be considered threatening also? Why didn't they react the same way, they knew who he was...obviously one officer showed a LOT more restraint and training in this situation.
Judge W. Michael Ryan resigned in 2008, according to local Massachusetts news site, MassLive . com....
"Now that he is off the bench, Ryan said he plans to campaign for Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for president."
"Ryan was appointed to the bench by former Gov. Michael S. Dukakis in 1990 and served as first justice of Northampton District Court from 1997 to 2002."
--Northampton District Court Judge W. Michael Ryan Resigns, Citing Health Issue, September 30, 2008 Fred Contrada MassLive
Cops could have asked him to remove said item from Pocket. even though I understand they have no idea what it is(could be a weapon). But hey. He's an ex-Judge for crying out loud. Not some Punk Black kid cruising for trouble. Cops didnt have to get so physical with the man. This is clearly overboard. Hope he sues them into the ground.
He had no right to place his hand on the officer in an agressive manner. Once he got over the shook, the officer swiftly let the judge (who knows better) know that was a legal no-no. Considering his wife/dinner date was cocked off her @ss, I wonder if that could have been a cause for his serious lack of judgement. Whether or not he has a sense of entitlement, that was a bad decision to make.
You guys are wrong. He exhibited signs of aggression and violent behavor. 14-64 years old, makes no difference. If someone shows signs that they are going to be violent it needs to be stopped before someone gets hurt. Guy was prob drunk
Hahahahahha. Judge Ryan gets what he deserves. He's always hated cops on the bench testifying, and now it's nice to see it's HIM in the defendant seat !! Hope the real judge throws the book at him.

I am sure the "judge" has ruled so many times against the individual constitutional right of Americans that he is getting his "justice" now.

Hmm. After watching this, I think I understand why he might've mistrusted police testimony.
