So it's a big difference in tone as opposed to using the master volume? Don't get me wrong I know all about tube amps and preamp/power amp distorsion... Im just curious...
There is a big difference if you play at low volume like I do: with the attenuator I can raise master volume just to make really work the tubes, also playing at home. At the same volume but without the attenuator the ampli doesn't sounds good...but I think it's normal for a 50W tube amp.
nice guitar mate im going to post a video of my 1975 strat it looks identical to your strat it sounds amazing ,it sounds so punchy the best stratocaster iv owned thanks for the video keep it up
I prefer the Marshall amp. It's a lot more dynamic than Laney; the sensitivity and dinamic are the mean features of the vintage modern amp, and it also has a awesome tone!
Laney is a good amp, but with high gain it seems to me lost in dynamic, cause the sound is very compressed. Also the guitar volume works a lot better with Marshall than with the Laney.
Buy a Marshall vintage modern head! You will have a professional Marshall sound for blues, classic rock and hard rock.
The color is called olympic white, but watching the foto on the Fender site it's different from the olympic white on the american standard model. By the way actually the 70 Vintage model are made only in natural or olympic white color.
don't blame you poor guitar. I think first the amp settigs are not so good, second you play on the dimarzio, which is not for vintage strat sound. And most important, I think you are not the frender strat guy, you need heavy guitars, gibson, ibanez, esp or so,
Me I like les pauls, bur I can not make them sound good. I am a strat man, although with not great skills. Best regards from germany.
Marshall is a lot better! there is no comparison in sound quality an dinamic between Marshall and Laney. It's a 50W, but with a power attenuator it sounds very well also at bedroom volume.
Great tone,real good blues player!!!!!

hey man, are you using an attenuator for this vid, or do you use the master volume? Serious tone!!
Beje0 2 years ago
Hi
I used a Dr Z attenuator. It works very well with the Marshall. With the attenuator I can obtain great tone at bedroom volume.

malmsteen80 2 years ago
I love my ppc 212 cab (with Vintage 30), so I recommend you the head version, but I've never tried the combo.

@malmsteen80 I have the Vintage Modern combo. I can great blues tones out of it. I can nail the Beano tone with my Les Paul!

HI, great tone !!!!
Do you prefer the Mashall over the Laney ?
And how about the touch sensitivity of the two amps ? The laney is more dynamic, or it's the marshall ?
Thanks !

Is your guitar, olympic or vintage white? because as far as I know These guitars are made in only natural, olympic white, black, and sunburst color!
But yours looks like vintage white.., but maybe I'm Blind:)

i think you should try both. they are both great amps, they're just diffirent. diffirent tubes, diffirent power etc.

yes it's made in USA

SWEET!!!! I'm getting the same one except I ordered natural w/ rosewood neck.

Great choice! The model with natural finish has different body wood from mine, but I don't know if the sound is different.
littlemachinewing 2 years ago
It comes with an ash body. I just got it straight out of the box and this thing is amazing. I just need to get it set up w/ ernie ball 10's
