Dear Codebear4., I have lived in New York City for 6 years now, I heard about the show from my parents who still live in Ukraine and I was very happy to find all the episodes on youtube. I became very distant from Ukrainian/ Russian culture, and since my arrival in USA was never interested in life of my homeland, but this show reminded me very dearly of where I come from, of morals and charater of Ukrainian woman, and mentality of the whole nation. Thank you for you great job uploading episodes.

I'm sorry to hear that he feels like he is treated like an outsider, an immigrant. I know there's still a lot of ignorance and intellectual laziness in the US. He is, as this show indicates, Ukrainian, not Russian as he is often describes as. I'm sure that is irritating as Russia & Ukraine have not had the best relationships even recently. Most of the US (particularly middle US) loves Kirstie, so maybe their friendship and his opening up around her will help people see him in a kinder light.

6. Again, regardless of his training, he is still viewed as an immigrant (I know this is erratic but translator says he's kind of all over the place). I don’t wish for anyone to be in my shoes even enemies, because it was the hardest thing of my life. There are things I would not say but if girls will say them, people will change their ideas(we don’t know what he means by this-sorry folks, a bit cryptic I know). 5. He agreed to do the show because his life did not allow for him to have a normal relationship. So he put himself in a situation where he couldn’t leave for 3 months. And I really believed it was going to work out but unfortunately it didn’t. But I don’t regret any of it. And 100% I will never do this show again but I learned things. And 65% of what I watched on tv, I didn’t know (things that he could not see/be aware of like what girls said and did when he was not with them).

4. Some people are still very racist but look we have an African American president. Some people are saying Sasha’s dad payed you money to choose Sasha. Maks says no, that again this is difference between countries. Here they think you can buy everything (meaning Ukraine). Which girls did Val like? After date with parents and girls, Val said bring back Nadya(whoa). But as a viewer he likes Yana (we have no idea what this contradiction means).

3. He calls is racial profiling. It is when people look at your not as a person but a representative of a country. After 12 episodes they took me as an idol and crushed it (like initially everyone liked me and now they’re stepping on me). Thank you to everyone who made me an idol because I don’t think I’m an idol. My mom thinks I’m an idol (smile). I don’t care what they say. You’ve won so many prizes, why do you think you are still viewed as an immigrant.

2. And for these people who live in the middle, they think of me as an immigrant and sometimes there is a bad word in front of immigrant. I was taught how to not care about negative press. I’m not trying to be something that I’m not. And sometimes people didn’t like it to the point of sending me threads. And I got letters that said go back to your country. There are racists who are being racist because he is from post Soviet Union country.

1. Not everyone can be good person. How do you feel about negative stuff being said because of your choice and did your parents approve your choice? When I started DWTS, people didn’t like me. Mostly people between 35-55 in Midwest watch DWTS. He is explaining that NY, LA and Miami are not real America, Midwest is real America. Chicago to Utah is real America and there they don’t like me.
