Nice car I love ba's. This doesn't have the optional LSD does it? Just going by the traction control button under the headlight button, to the left of the steering column. I'm probably wrong but oh well

@KOBUTTERBEAN no its just pipeing from the compressor with an after market air filter. A BOV will make funny noises too but set right actually do help eliminate surge. If you want continues power you want to eliminate this so the turbine rpm are still high on shits there fore a longer hp band. The best is a DV(Dump Valve) used on the track for racing but not made for funny noises. Strictly for hp a DV is and do make a sound but not amplified as there are made for go not show like BOV's

no its just the turbo chopping the air cause he's blocked off where the bov goes and the air goes back in and the turbo chops the air.......the only damage ud notice would be after like 5+ years plus there is more pressure so it spools up a little faster aswell

@shifty408 Thats Rubbish. How can a turbo spin backwards..it would self destruct the very first time you hear it. This noise is just airflow passing back through the compressor wheel the wrong way, so you get a choppy air sound. Its harmless. All this crap about compressor surge gets to me., You need to learn what compressor surge actually is. It ocurrs during actual boosting .

there fine to hav modded up all u do is upgrade the clutch they can hold a shit load of power thru em its the way u drive

ummm they are ok up to about 300rwkw. past that they start playing up. There a gearbox from the 80's have only had a few slight changes over the years. The BF's and BA Mk II have T56 there fine for well over 500rwkw. A few guys run 330rwkw with the T5 but they can can tell there gear box's dont like it.

if you want a nice DOSE, you have to remove the BOV all together, or just take the vacume lines off, then remove all the AFM stuff from the front of the turbo and put it in the IC piping, get a bigger IC and then you'll have a nice flutter :D

Lose the manual box dude, the 6-speed ZF Auto has sliced many a drag time of xr6t's by almost a full second ! Sure manual is good for cicuit racing but for a good old fashioned drag race, can't beat that auto + ur boost stays on all the time. No matter how quick you think you can grear-change, you lose valuable time each time you hit that clutch & not to mention losing a gear now & again.

Eventually , the manual gearbox will be something like the BMW M6, 7Speed Auto clutch.

Instant gear changes like a Tiptronic auto but with all the positives of a manual.

nah mate the stock xr6 turbo BOV is really quiet, plumback systems are generally all the same like that, they found it more consumer friendly to have it quiet, all the older people who buy these cars didnt want a 'stupid' noise coming from the engine, but us young blokes can easily change this :p

Dragzk, i bought a monza oil filter on stuck it on the end of the std BOV and just blocked the other side of it (where the bov is orginally connected to) with a 25mm chair tip you can buy from bunnings, all up this mod costs about 12$? lol
