..ive made this mistake myself once or twice with my reflector, what you are seeing is the top of a mountain range caught in the sun, because of the non defracting nature of light on the moon its possible to imagine a geo stationary object. half moons are better for this, any reflecting telescope over 6" will show what looks like many pin poins of light in and around the craters, again, lack of defracted light makes these light oasis look far more prominant. nice vid though! :))

Not long ago my kids and i were looking at the moon with our telescope and noticed several very small dots, in formation, moving across it. It drives me crazy that we can see them ,plain as day, but the govt will still deny knowing anything. THANK YOU for all the vids. Obama says he will release ufo files when he gets in office.Let's hope they are not all hidden or destroyed by then.

cool video, good to see this kind of thing. what i dont get though is, the hubble telescope can see literally million upon millions of lightyears away, it can potentially read newspaper print from thousands of miles away yet they don't use it to study the moon, christ surely the hubble could see in real time for example the lunar module (supposedly) sitting on the moon right now.you should be able to read the print on the module with that thing. yet (nasa) doesnt use it. wonder why eh!

you cant see the moon surface well with a telescope(it would be blurry) only with a satelite that is orbiting the moon

If your talking about the objects in the back ground (hovering),well for me its just the peaks of mountains/creators/large outcrops that are in sun light and the rest are in shadow....

That is unquestionably no moon lights sparkling and hovering in place that John captured. Magnificent video capture and close up of the moon's surface. I suspected something a little odd about those moon's lights, but I couldn't get a handle on it; this video clearly shows that there is undoubtedly an object appearing to be hovering in place, and its not the moon surface either from what I can see. I saw in this video several hovering objects and an intriguing diminutive and unusual tower.

Just because the moon is closer (yet still over 200,000 miles away) doesn't mean to say that all the detail gets that much clearer although the film is still closer than normal. And seeing it was done with a 12" LX90 I give John 10 out of 10 for his efforts and a big thankyou. Perhaps you could do better bhay3s?
