Sometimes simplicity can be so rooted and divine it blows right over top of peoples heads. If you listen to some of the earliest blues recordings in our history, those lyrics are sometimes so simple and often made up of only a couple lines, or words even. But the meanings behind those songs go so deep, with much emotion, it is beyond some peoples comprehension.

@ticktockedout: I agree the lyrics do repeat. Have you ever heard Bill Withers sing "aint no sunshine", The Beatles "all you need is love", Bob Marley "jammin'", or Muddy Waters "mannish boy"?

There's complexity in the meaning of the lyrics, the nuances in her singing, the subtle rhythmic and tonal variation in the playing: in the blues there’s complexity behind what's obvious and on the surface. With everything you want at the click of a button perhaps that's a bit of a stretch these days?

People, these lyrics aren't as simple as they seem. You have not dug deep into the possibilities of its multiple metaphorical meanings. The song could be talking about a literal dog or it can be talking about a lover whom keeps asking her to go back with him etc. You guys are so accustomed to complexity in these videos that you might sometimes not understand that less is more. :) Open your minds a little bit and enjoy simple things.
