My wife died last year of cancer, and this piece always allows me to grieve deeply, but at the same time find a bit of peace with my memories. With deep apreciation and thanks
Very nice and obviousy requiring a heck of a lot of skill as this lady certainly has. Shame of course about the audio-visual quality. Not sure if the necessary ocasional re-tuning is a hinderance or not to the piece.

Any chance there will be some new videos posted anytime soon? Just sooo enjoy Sarah's phenomenal playing!! and love the Traditional Cornish songbook that I ordered from you awhile ago.....Gloria in San Pedro, Calif....Take Care!!
@phantombagpiper When I listen to her play, I feel like droplets of air rain upon my skin. Is there any way you can find a better quality version of this song?
At the moment I'm playing harp, but I have to change to celtic harp next year. At first I was worrired about changing, because I love the harp I play, but now I think celtic harp is a lot more beautiful than harp
Celtic / Folk they are the same, they are both 'lever' harps rather than a concert 'pedal' harp. Each string has a lever to raise its pitch by a semitone in order to get different keys.
I love this song! I play the harp as well, only not the celtic harp. I play the pedal harp, and I was wondering if this song could be played on a pedal harp. Maybe I'll just download the music and find out for myself!
Ok so lever harps don't look so bad. My problem would be memorizing the sound of the keys, among other things. I think I'll just study music all together.
i just have to say that this is...indescribable. when my husband asked me to marry him he played a song on the harp, and it's simply wonderful. there are so many feelings and thoughts that we don't have words for, but the music we have. This song is utterly breathtaking and captures some of those feelings in a way that no amount of words could. I thank you for making this world a more beautiful place.
The instrument is a Salvi Egan. There are Salvi outlets in London and Cardiff, there may well be one in Ireland too. The do a good cover for it too, it has wheels built in!
This was the most amazing playing on the celtic harp I have ever heard!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. I tune my Lyon and Healy "Prelude" to C. Please tell me what key you tune your beautiful harp to. I am overwhelmed st your talent. Harper in Toronto
so you can tune the harp differently? thats crazy, i just leave my violin tuned one way. i know you tune the e string on the violin differently for country fiddling music, but the violin has four strings, and the harp has... umm, 82 or something?
if i where to tune one string on my violin differently, i would go insane.
This was outstanding!! I have never heard the Celtic harp played like this. I play a Lyon and Healy Prelude. I wish I knew what key you tune your harp to. Keep up the great work.Robbie
Sarah you play beautifully full of confidence and such control over the instrument. I puck my little lyre harp but would like to advance to a Celtic harp. If ever I to have a teacher you would be the most desirable to have. Bravo
captivating, enchanting, living music. If it could be touched, it would be shimmering satin. If it could be seen, it would dazzle with sparkling crystal light. I could listen to this all day.
where???? I havent been able to find one for over 3000 some. what kind of harp is that?? I have a little 26-string limeric lap harp with levers. and i am saving up for a bigger harp. what kind of harp do u suggest has the best sound quality??? thx so much! ~Michelle
This harp is a Salvi Egan with 38 strings, in my opinion one of the best lever harps available today, but I can also recommend the Dusty Strings 'Ravenna 34' and the Camac 'Stivell'.
Just stunning! Do you have sheet music for this?!?!? Also, what make of harp is that you are playing? It looks like a Tara style harp, but I can't tell the maker!
What an excellent piece of music performed with expertise and musicality. I loved it! Please publish it for other harpists to play - if they're really accomplished that is!
Thanks, Sarah was prizewinner at the Royal Academy of Music in London, now spends most of her time on Celtic Harp, so 'more than 20yrs' is the diplomatic answer!
Will Ms Deere-Jones ever be publishing the sheet music for this? I know a lot of lever harp players who want more advanced classical compositions to play! :)
I'm a harp maker, not too much of a player, and I appreaciate hearing such a fine performance! Who cares about the quality of the video, its the quality of the instrument and harpist that counts. Loved it!!! I gave you the highest rating...
Its got 38 Strings and the bottom one is 'A'. This piece uses just about all of them! The harp is a Salvi Egan and every string has an electric pick-up. Although this, and CD recordings are always done with mics.
OMG! You changed tunings while playing--more than once! You are a harp goddess! What a beautiful composition, played by a master. Who cares about the videotape?
Thanks for your kind comments, I'm getting a lot of mileage out of calling Sarah the 'Harp Goddess'!!

Each string has a lever at the top to change its note by a semi-tone, eg. C to C-sharp.
