  • THAT WAS A PERFECT SNOW RALLY !!! LOVED IT !!

  • Is it me or is the road really hard to see, I do wonder if it is practice or expertise that is the key in such hard to see places

  • @leadfeet123 don't forget about the co-driver

  • @leadfeet123 it's just like skiing... whiteout!!! On a cloudy day you can get snowblind.... everything is one even shade of white.... at least on a sunny day there are shadows...

  • @leadfeet123

We Norwegians are used to it. But seriously, the camera light is not as real. You notice the road more in real life. :)

  • Its noise caused by the ignition system. Race cars use non-resistive wire to the spark plugs, which is more efficient but causes a storm of RF noise. Production cars don't have them because you would hear that noise over your AM/FM radio

  • Lol at the 'it's the turbo making the noise" comments. Its electrical interference as many correctly mentioned.

    "Its the turbo".....lol

  • ok guys the sound u r hearing in the turbo, jus sounds funny on onboard cameras, and in 2007 hennin ws driving a focus wrc not a pug 307

  • i thought it was a squirrel caught in the grill...

  • That reminds that I have a dentists appointment coming up!

  • Lol! :D

  • Great! Does anybody know where the sounds come from? I mean is it the gears shifting or is it the sound of the engine resulting from shifting gears? And that higher *peep*?

  • proly the wastegate/wesgate (sumting like dat)

    bet im wrong....

  • The sound is typical coming from a straight cut transmission. The high beep seems to be some kind of interference when recorded...

  • Thnx. :)

  • that's correct, it's electrical noise coming from the alternator spinning at different speeds from the motor rpms. so the whine is directly related to engine rpm.

  • The high frequency squealing (peep) you are hearing is electrical interference. This is likely from a result of the camera power being tied into the car's electrical system. You can reproduce a similar effect if you plug a pair of headphones into some lower quality computers. Electricity can very easily create audio interference on devices if not properly shielded.

  • electrical interference from the alternator. should have put a condenser on and the sound wouldn't be there.

  • peep is the turbo :)

  • Could be wrong here, but I think the whining noises comes from un-isolated spark plugs which in turn manifests in the onboard recordings. Peugot and Citroën's are the worst when it comes to this. Must be a french thing =o)

  • Not a long time to Rally Norway 2009! Can't wait to see the guys fighting for seconds in these awesome winter roads!
