I've too got a spilled-on keyboard work again, but you'll need to take the whole thing apart, soak the film to remove any residue and rinse it with preferrably distilled water. Acidic or alcholic beverages will b0rk the keyboard *really* fast.

Agreed. I actually used that method on this very type of keyboard.Girl at work dumped her entire coke on her keyboard. First, I popped all the keys off. Then I put it in the sink to soak in some warm water and just a touch of Simple Green. Then into the dishwasher - no soap, no heat drying ... let it dry upside down for several days. It worked perfectly.

well im sure the majority of us would just buy another keyboard. That is unless its hella expensive, then it makes sense to just clean it out... especially if its like 80 dollars or more. But if its a cheapo keyboard (mine is) then I'd just buy another ... in fact I have a backup keyboard in my closet. Cheap stuff.

And if you spill a large amount of fluid when you pour it out DO NOT put it at an angle like she did it just let's more of the fluid to spread more throughout your keyboard! I'm not absolutely sure this is the correct thing to do but what I did was quickly flip it over to drain it.

I recently spilled Sprite in my keyboard.

To clean it off I just used cleaning alcohol and Q-tips. To clean it I just popped of the the sticky keys and thoroughly cleaned out the key itself and the socket thing the pegs go in. After that make sure to wait about a day for the alcohol to dry or else when you plug it back in it will freeze your computer because it thinks your pressing down keys. From this video.. seriously how does drenching your keyboard in water seem like a good idea at all!

yeah, first thing, you dont want to use sink water, distilled water does it good

second, soda and syrup? im not gunna think too much, but im pretty sure it has some corrosive chemicals that will mess up the board if there isnt, welll distilled water would have been better

and third for any liquid conflict, you'll have to dissmantle it down to the key membrane to clean those liquids

Actually... you need to completely dissemble the keyboard and clean the board with alcohol to remove all the acidic residue from the coke -- which is corrosive. Then you may also need to retrace damaged contacts with a "conductive pen" which basically is a conductive solder that air cures. Yeah you'd need a multimeter to find and replace those damaged contacts too. In other words -- keyboard repair isn't the same as keyboard cleaning. She's hot at least.

Actually it may not work here in this video but one of our users spilled chicken soup all over her keyboard to the point it woud drip out when you tilted it. I followed these instructions and waited over the weekend and on Monday the keyboard was working perfectly. Saved a $80 wireless keyboard from the landfill. Maybe this wouldn't work against maple syrup but it does work against chicken soup.
