  • You can donate for the restoration of the church at traditionfortomorrow

  • Because its the Easter vigil and Lent does not end until the Gloria after the Proclamation, I would guess??

  • In the NOMass the bells are rung untill the Amen of the people. Logical because the priest sings along.

I never thought that in the TMass it was shorter.

    Why don't I hear churchbells :P?

  • This is Saint Francis De Sales. I am suprised the SLPD and the SLFD allowed them to even use this building. The walls are starting to come apart and the windows are almost all broken.

With that in mind. The reason why the churchbells are not ringing is beacuse the bell tower is badly slanted and quite literally if their is even thesmallest jolt, the whole thing would fall and might kill somebody.

  • @dacatholicbandorgan What a ridiculous post - the building is magnificently maintained and beautifully appointed, the windows - by Emil Frei - are recently refurbished, and the bell tower, while its foundation is causing concerns, is hardly "badly slanted." Structural work is planned to address the issues for this century-old building. By the way, its 300-foot tower, one of the tallest in the USA, is secure enough to withstand the ringing of its bells. Shame on you, silly person.
