The link was posted by the vlogger right above you here - 55ella2007k, she's one of my favorites. It's on the site Information Clearing House and is entitled Argentina's Economic Collapse.
Another great video. Really good info, I was curious about some of the more esoteric aspects of this that you covered. The blackmail thing is key, corruption can be like glue sometimes, holding everyone's lips shut, good and bad.
The US did just fine for over a century taxing only capital gains until they shifted the burden to the workers. Some politician I don't remember his name suggested taxing corporations based on how much they outsource hoping to bring jobs back to the US. Sounds like a good idea to me.
This guy is out to lunch! Corporations moved to AVOID paying taxes. Remember...do your own research. This guy is supporting Obama, ACORN chief-in-staff which caused the housing debacle. That should speak VOLUMES!
The effort to nut the Glass-Stiegel was bipartisan - Phil Gram was at least as responsible as Summers.
As for ACORN, by law, they have to turn in every filled out registration they receive. In most cases, they helped local officials by flagging suspect registrations. And there is no proof of it leading to lots of illegal VOTING, anyway.
BTW, if you check my videos, I've done little but criticize Obama since he was elected.
principles101: actually, no the guy is NOT out to lunch, because he actually does his research. He's about as far from a blind Obama supporter as it can get...so, please take the time to watch his prior videos rather than basing your judgement on the one you just watched. It might actually surprise you, because you will find things to agree with...
but .....there is always some other congress people backed by big money and slick government tax lawyers, ready to tack on new loopholes that can be barried within Obamas prop . And then you find out years latter about it .
As a Sovereign I know one thing. The only people that have to pay taxes of that kind are businesses. Also in reality the pres has zero authority over taxation but hell I have heard you call yourself a us citizen many times. Which means your a vol slave. So as a slave your voice matters not. That why your so called gov reps do what they want and not you.
No I most certainty not a freeman. I am a Sovereign period end of story just like the constitution lays out. Freeman need gov approval and that can be taken away anytime gov feels like it. They can try it with me as well but I will die free. As a Sovereign there is no one higher then me in the chain of command. I am a Sovereign citizen of the country of Florida. I am NOT a US citizen. Can't believe a smart man like you doesn't understand.
ask anyone in the government of Florida whether it's a country or not
If you want to declare your independence, which is fine by me, you should probably do it yourself because I don't think Florida is with you on that one
This clearly states your a moron basing you opinion from the fed gov interpritation of the constitution. As of 1790 the dictionairy stated this. State - any body of people encompasing a city, many cities, or body of land posting the same name and governing itself. The word country did not even exsist in this context. Go look it up moron. Thats why colonies became states and did not remain colonies. America was then reffered to as a nation not a country.
I know what state means, but you said country, which I take to mean nation, which can be synonymous with state, but in the case of the U.S., no longer is, in the U.S. the term state is more synonymous with province, and yes, that's the way it is. I believe in the power of local politics and that people should focus on local politics, and if you don't believe me, check out my vids. You don't make yourself look very smart calling people morons.
I don't care what you think about me. I am not trying to be smarter I already know I am. Let me also point out that your so called US government is no government at all. It was a legal fiction which took control of our nation after the civil war. The United States is a cooperation NOT a government. Just like your a voluntary slave because you consent to it and allow yourself to be put forth as a cooperation yourself via the legal fiction create in your birth cert. You know jack shit obviously
Now you can disregard what I say and I notice your on the path to truth. I have now opened the door to truth AND reality. You came at me I do remember. These are the facts and easly provable time and time again. You keep voting as a slave begging your master to be set free. "Freedom can never be given, it must be torn from the grips of your master." Thomas Jefferson 1773.
Also to continue when a STATE to large amounts of new territory it was then called a Nation state. Now a stat not widely known is that less then 3% of American have any understanding of American history pre 1850. Why is this because not long after the centralized power mindset of Abe Lincoln won the civil war, early 1900s, Schools simply phased out teaching states power and the idea of local gov. Don't like that well tough shit it's fact look it up.
Like abolition of civics classes which focused on such ideas and time periods. Like the 13 amendment was not about freeing slaves. It deemed all members passing and accepting the BAR, which means you join the British royal court, would have their Sovereign citizenship status terminated. Which refused them service in our gov. That's what the 1812 war was about. It was stored in the capital building which was 1 of only 3 building burnt to the ground destroying the document.
The treaty signed at the end of that war forced the rescinding of that amendment. Perhaps you should pick a mental fight with someone your smarter then on a subject you know more about. Now say the pledge out load and tell me where the word country appears. You spout centralized federalist bullshit. It was treason back then and still treason today. Problem is as a hole moron Americans wouldn't know their own history if it landed in their laps.
The terms in which business frames these things as opposed to what they actually do represents a staggering disconnect. That, and the corporate news media are all part of veritcally integrated megaconglomerates, so they are inevitably tied to companies that benefit from these tax policies. Anyone big enough to exploit these policies does so. Why not? It's like free money. But I doubt they're interested in publicizing the fact that they use foreign tax havens - it might make them seem less noble.
You know we dont really need other countries that much. I mean if we closed our borders and did everything in house (or even exported goods only) we could be the richest nation in the world. Instead we are handing out our country like candy on the street to any foreign power that walks buy. I say we, but it is mostly big government and big buisness. Soon it will be to late, so how do we stop this ticking time bomb? I dont know.... but something has to be done soon or we lose...
In the end, whether Obama really wants this or not, I wonder if they'll be closing loopholes or hiding loopholes. Maybe they'll make them smaller so they're harder to see.
A funny thing, closing loopholes like that may actually affect me... I may end up having to pay taxes both to Argentina and to the U.S... but I don't have a business, I'm a freelancer (translator), I don't know what it will mean for me.
And I wonder if it will have a negative impact on the outsourced countries...
They're always so willing to make sure to stay competitive to attract international corporations and keep job numbers up, even if those jobs don't give people any kind of a future, and if the businesses start having to pay taxes in the U.S., they'll start demanding more concessions abroad.
Maybe it's just an effort to balance the spending, or if it fails, saying, my plan included a way to pay for every cent of spending, but those pesky Republicans made it impossible to close the tax loopholes.
I don't think there are any perfect solutions. Personally, if I could change the world by fiat (divine powers) I would drastically reduce the US military, at least be on par with our next closest competitor, China. This would immediately save enough money (even after paying to retrain and get dislocated military personnel into decent jobs in the real economy) to pay for BHO's green revolution and lots of other stuff.
And I view our relationship w/ most outsourced countries as exploitative.
Oh, I totally agree, it's nothing but exploitative, but I think rather than ending the exploitation, they would use this as an excuse to make more demands on the cooperative governments of the nations they exploit.
Which isn't to say the loopholes shouldn't be closed, just because a negative effect may result doesn't mean you shouldn't do the right thing. But what really needs to be done is ban all imports unless the workers are paid a living wage, and require a living wage in the U.S.
Excellent wish for the wish pile, in terms of a living wage. Unfortunately, it's hard to provide a living wage AND enormous CEO salaries, certainly among the record holders worldwide currently.
And I always think companies will be completely self-serving in their interests. They have no other concerns to balance being selfish against. Nothing wrong w/ that, but it needs to be recognized as the nature of the beast.
Alas, the "best" solution may not be the most economically pleasant.
Would you say the Argentina has, on balance, benefitted from it's business dealings w/ the US?
If American companies were going around the globe fixing problems & getting us friends w/ these tax $s they're scamming, I could deal w/ that. It would be a clumsy system but if the reality was that it worked, I'd get over it. But it doesn't.
The goal of corporations is to have us all trying to undercut one another, like those desperate crowds that hang out in Home Depot parking lots.
Absolutely not, they're making it necessary to know English and be under 25 to even get a job in Argentina, they pay about 1/4 of what you would actually need to live in this country and leeching the wealth of the former, endangered middle class, and they're doing the same in the U.S.
In addition, all the local employers pay less than the internationals because they use the international pay rate as a definition of a good wage, saying, how can we compete with the Yankees?
If you start seeing people in the cities in the U.S. digging through the garbage on the street and carrying patchwork bags the size of a small car on their backs full of recyclables as their only available means of income, you'll know the same thing has happened in the U.S. as in Argentina. I wouldn't be too surprised if it does happen, in time, as you said, the parallels are there, and that's what happens when wages don't cover the cost of living and the wealth of the middle class is depleted.
hey feelfreetoargue, you said you saw a documentary on the financial collapse in Argentina. What was the name of it?

Yes, I believe it's a move in the right direction. But will Congress actually pass this bill? I seriously doubt it.
