  • After 15 years with PayPal I'm cancelling my account and will no longer be doing business with them or through them anymore.

They overlook a very important fact.

They are not a bank they are a money transfer company. I paid them in full to transfer "my Money".

They have no right to "my money".

I think everyone knows they use millions of other peoples money to invest, and the longer they have YOUR MONEY to invest the more PROFIT they make.

It isn't their money to HOLD. Good riddins PayScum.

  • to many Horror stories about ebay and paypal

  • i sold about three items in dec 2011 2 months after your video and get the cash right away i even have a paypal card..sold my first items or this year 2012 and there holding it lame i have 0 neg feedback shipped with in 2 days and add tracking everytime

  • i just sold my ps3. paypal's withholding payment funds. i need the buyers payment to pay for shipping because i don't have the money on me now to do it.

    what do i do?

    anyone?

  • @Omniverse77 Email your buyer and tell them what you just typed here and ask them whether or not they can wait the 21 days and if they don't want to wait 21 days for you to ship out their item, tell them to contact paypal & see if paypal will release the funds considering the buyer says they are ok with the funds being released to you before the 21 days. Otherwise the buyer is going to have to wait 21 days.

  • I sold a collectible coin on eBay in the early part of December and I just got my money yesterday. I think they're taking this policy of theirs too far, and I hope they get sued.

  • PayPal doing this tells me that possibly PayPal is in some sort of financial straights that have not been disclosed. They will hold your money and make interest on it. I do no recommend either PayPal or eBay for that matter. It would also seem the are violating the EFT act as well. If one has not been placed already, I am certain a class action law suite is coming. They settled one for about 30 million not too long ago. Here comes another one.

  • Yea I think they are putting the money in a account somewhere to draw interest. I hope they fail, the whole 20-21 days thing is way overboard. Even if you do delivery confirmation, the money is still held for 3 days after they receive it.

  • Same thing happen to me. Shm the item was even under 100 bucks

  • You can't ask people to send a money order on ebay. The listing won't go through. Monopolizers. They are fucking everyone who lives month to month, same as any other bank scam.

  • @AnfoMerc Yes you can. All you have to type in your auction is "NO PAYPAL!! Anything else is acceptable" Its just the way you have to word it. The only way ebay will shut down your auction is if somebody reports that you take anything but paypal.

  • 2:10 It doesn't matter how much you sold your item for, paypal will still hold the funds for 21 days.

  • did you heard paypal made a space rocket with the fucking free money they get from us! even donated money needs 30 cent to come in

  • you assholes made this shit possible, you let them fuck you in the ass,, just dont fucking use paypal. ask buyers to send you money order,, you have it in 2 days then you ship the item rightaway, with tracking info, post the track# on ebay same day..very simple(sorry dont accept paypal)

  • @davidFreiheit I always do offer other payment methods like money orders, certified cheques, etc.. but every buyer on eBay only wants to pay with paypal. In that situation what do we do?

  • i hate ebay, they charge more not to sell and they only want powersellers, now trash paypal hold your money, so run risk of losing money and ur item...paypal is trash.. its not worth useing ebay, all the fees to sell and paypal has fees, i sold few things under $50 bucks paypal still has my money 19 days later! wtf

  • This is funny I sold my camera too and I'm still waiting for my payment from Paypal... The estimated date keeps fluctuating. The worst part to me, was they say, they will use part of the payment to help you pay for shipping and such, but they took the freaking money out of my own account.

  • I have experienced this same scenario...100% positive feedback and I sold a couple things and just like you said after sale I couldn't gey MY money. You have to sell at least 25 items in 6 months to get it out of that fudged up state. I complained to ebay and paypal just to make sure they know paypal is a fudging waste of time now...it used to be good, so sad.

  • you're a relitively new seller without a decent history... they are just trying to make sure you are genuine. how would you feel if you bought something from somebody who had listed 100 items, received your payment, withdrew the money and didnt send your item out. how would you stop this from happening? key words 'up to' 20 days... if you receive positive feedback, the payemnt would be released within 24 hours. if you provided tracking info, they would see the item delivered and release payment

  • @thevinyljunkie Well who cuddles up with a paypal ceo every night...shut the fuk up its a terrible policy and everyone loses but paypal

  • @thevinyljunkie gosh really...what the hell man shutup!

  • eBay is butfucking us. cmon they take almost 10% and paypal takes %3 and hold the money? i call that bullshit

  • Every company is GREED oriented. In other words the Exec. dream and brainstorm how to gouge more from existing clients in addition to the best way to suck more clients into the black hole of corporate greed.

Why just the other day I sent a sold Ebay item using the Paypal payment option and shipping label print-set-up on their site: Proof of shipping. BUT Buyer claims no receipt of goods. Paypal reverses payment and I lose Double product fee & ship fee; the one allegedly lost and the reversal!

  • I think the real reason Pay Pal holds are money is so they can make interest off are money.

  • a couple points. You don't have to be a power seller.

    - also it can be ANY denomination. YESE.. I have 99% feedback, 1 negative in 5 years, and I have been hit with the hold the past 8 auctions! and most are around average $30.00 each. Extremely unnerrving, and pathetic. I started with Money Orders, I was always happier with Money Orders, and I'mma goin' back to Money Orders. I don't know where this got all mixed up along the way.. I guess the need for Instant virtual money? but no groceries.

  • I think money orders are about to make a comeback! lol

  • But then again I'm CRAZY, thinking it is too much handling and shipping money for the buyer to invest of his own in this economy???

Also aren't you taking out the platform of the noob, newly rising sellers??

PAYPAL SUCKS should be a term in the dictionary with it's own definition.

  • terrible IDEA...stops the circulation of transactions, it does not nessecarily speed up the shipment process, it may and has been actually slowed down the transactions because the amount and the load of shipment and handling is wayyyyy toooo much on sellers.

IS THERE ANY DAMN PROTECTION FOR SELLERS BY PAYPAL????? or EBAY???

they are the ones making you your money, but then again you figured they are not going to stop no matter how tight you keep that pressure over their heads.

  • greed, greed,is all it is.I dont sell much anymore.

  • the 21 day payment had been there since late 2009. it was just recently launched to all sellers, including new sellers. before it was only the random paypal hold. now there are 2 types of hold. the new seller paypal payment hold which is random for specific category, specially high risk items (electronics, dvds, etc). The other type of payment hold are for for established sellers, if they will hit below standards, it will have a hold on all of their items sold, yes all. For the new seller hold.

  • @Dogmeng so I sell with my current account for 5 years. basically perfect. 3 people out of 300 - yes that's correct who give me between 3 and 4 stars for shipping time. Now is that fair for them to impose this crap due to that ratio? That's utter crap. It's amazing how greedy the rich are acting in plain sight.

  • i gotta admit, after this policy was put into place, i get my stuff FASTER. and i am happy about that. but that's just me.

  • I'm done selling on feebay.I been selling for over 10 years and have over 500 pos feedbacks at 100%.I always used my paypal funds to pay for my ebay seller fees but now the idiots are holding payments. This means I can't pay my seller fees and now ebay has put my account on hold for non payment of seller fees.Does this make sense? Is not paypal an ebay company? If so,they are holding money from themselves. Then ebay will be scratching their heads as to why people are no longer selling.I'm done!

  • YOU ARE BEING A BANK FOR PAYHELL, THEY ARE MAKING MONEY OFF OF YOU AND US ! ! !

  • Not too long ago, some of us remember, there was such a thing as interesting on money. Now, it's a thing of the past. So for the big companies, it's okay to use our money to reloan and get interest on the money that is not theirs. It's really a sham!

  • Here the thing: Ebay has grown and evolved. After many years of growth and some abuse by the public, it has had to tigten things up. PayPal - same thing. In the long run, I think these changes will be good.

  • You may not like my comment, but as a buyer, I feel better now. I get my stuff faster AND, look at the big picture, dude. Buyers are what keep the Ebay world spinning. They are the cashflow. Gotta look out for them first.

  • @hillarydears NOOOOOOOOOOOO

SELLERS are what keeps it rolling. what are you talking about??? are you high?? sellers pay a LARGE amount to both Ebay and Paypal over their disgusting services to the seller. That is on each sell.

  • Things that start out small and then get huge, like Ebay, turn sour. That blows that you have to wait 20 days to get your money. I think they are making up the rules as they go along.

  • 20 days ? no way I will never sell on E bay and they will lose business if they do this. I can see if they think something is not right too hold funds 5 days to maybe a week but any thing over this is way too long.

  • My mind just got blown by the awesomeness of that video.

  • it has ups & downs, but some insist on instant payment then take 2 weeks to post it.. yeah its tough on those that post within 2 or 3 days, but maybe in the future they will revert when the majority behave..

  • Hi Xavier ! I sell on ebay also and I'm not a powerseller either and I have never had to wait on my funds to be released. I just recently sold an android tablet for over $300 and I had my money as soon as the buyer paid. So, I'm not sure why you had to wait on your money. I do know that new sellers that have never sold anything before have to wait so long before their money is released but in your case it seems odd that you had to wait. Hope your next ebay experience is better! Great to see you

  • EBay is tough on sellers and would almost always side with the buyer if there is a problem; seller loses out and seller protection is a joke. EBay understands that buyers keep the business running but seems to forget that sellers are equally important. I feel like there are less sellers these days than back in 2003 when I first started selling on eBay. I wish there was a better platform cause eBay blows.

  • I had a bad experience on EBAY and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe, now that they are putting these new measures into place, I will trust them again? But I feel for the sellers. There's gotta be a better way.

  • isn't it sad that things that start out good usually turn to crap? ebay is a good example. and paypal is trailing right behind. the list can go on and on.

  • I have a friend that makes a good profit on Ebay. He tends to find some good things to sell... As well a leather craftier I know sells on there a lot. She has no problem that I know of. The majority of her items would be over $20 I think... Next time I see her I will ask her about this. I don't do online auctions.

  • I do not use Ebay, I am not a fan of them. I do love PayPal! I like another site that is more or less like Ebay but doesnt involve cash, instead points are used. No way to make money on it though, just a way to get things you want without money other than shipping and handling charges. Good to see you! HUGS and Blessings! xoxo

  • I know they were doing that on stuff over $100 if you don't have more than 100 reviews for awhile. That has been around for awhile. Didn't they have to option to put in a tracking number? I know I had to do this once and all I did was add the tracking number. If you put in the tracking number of the object shipped the funds were released faster

(sorry if this is the second time you are reading this I wasn't sure if it went through before)

  • Here is another example of how big businesses and banks and such make off with the little people's money and hard work.

  • i knew about this policy and that's when i started pulling my stuff off ebay. i am pretty sure too that ebay owns paypal or the other way around.

  • I use Craigslist to sell/buy things as much as I can now in order to save money on shipping and to avoid issues with feedback wars, being sure I have the product or money, and I can inspect the item to know its good before buying. If I'm buying, I can get it now rather than bidding or waiting and if I want to haggle, life is so much easier. The burdens of being a seller are much higher than they used to be there are other issues like a seller not being able to put neg. feedback to a buyer.

  • wtf? I think this policy of BS. So they expect you to go thru all the troubles of placing the item up, pay Ebay fees - and then have the nerve to keep your funds until they are good and ready to release them?
