good question... I think its due to frustration, they feel by blowing the horn it gets them to work or home faster, but traffic is what it is and blowing the horn does nothing, I prefer shooting the bird over blowing the horn

I HATE how the drivers are so selfish they proceed into the intersection even though their light is red!!!! RUDE!!! So i have this theory that traffic in NYC, L.A., etc. would be so much less of a hassle if commuters (people who work one place but live another ie. work in NYC live in NJ) would just live where they work or work where they live. Does anyone agree with me? If you're a commuter (see above def.) live where you work and you'll save yourself a whole lot of time and frustration.

Well I've never lived in New York, NY, but from the research Ive done I wouldnt expect to find anything adequate enough for less than $1,000,000, in Manhattan that is. Though there are some parts of the borough that are very inexpensive, while other parts which are embarrassingly expensive. And dont forget New York City if made up of five boroughs, not just one. Though Manhattan is definitely the most expensive to live in.

SOME drivers are selfish, it's true. More people commute via public transportation in major cities than drive. 'Live where one work, work where one lives' is so for some and not for others. Here in the U.S. people get to work out the life that best suits themselves. I believe most do. With all due respect, you sound like a 'social engineer.' You sound really angry about this.

They drive here just for the fun of the city and try to find a good parking space. It is like the popular spot of entertainment, fine food, movie theaters, museums, etc. The worst areas to park are between 48th and 50th because that is the closet New Yorkers get to parking in Times Square and sometimes parking between 9th and 10th is a pain unless someone pulls out... ;)Do the sneak maneuver if there is an open space for you.
