I agree, protests are not fixing it. A fix is quite a ways off. We're just trying to get everyone's attention directed to the issues at this point. We need the other 98% to join the protests.
Amen, MoldytoasterMedia. "You cannot evict and idea whose time has come." The system is way broken and needs radical change. How many booms and busts to we have to endure? The poor and the middle class pay the bills every time the boom is over. This is not even capitalism anymore, it's corporatism. America needs to learn the difference and act.
It's quite simple; Wall Street was bailed out and the American people were sold out. Wall street caused the economic mess we were in because the government is not regulating it.
I say "Let the middle class shrink" the only reason American's have had it so good is because they have been sucking the governments tit for 60 years. Look at China-there's no middle class there and yet they have become the super power of the planet. They have surpassed the US by hard work, not government handouts. I will work with brothers Cantor, Boehner, and Paul Ryan to end all handout programs (social security, medicare) and encourage tax breaks for job creators. God bless the GOP
But then they turned around and filibustered the Jobs Act, which independent analyses showed would reduce unemployment by at least a full percentage point. And that’s not just math; it is people’s lives.
Throw out all job-killing Republican hypocrites in 2012!
According to The Wall Street Journal, even 68% of millionaires say they should pay higher taxes. It's only the idiot Republicans who are against this, in the name of voodoo economics and plain mean-spiritedness . . .
@Senehtsotara Those millionaires are free to pay as much taxes as they like. They can give it ALL to the gov if they so choose, nothing's stopping them. Michael Moore, for instance, is a multi-millionaire. How much extra does he donate to the tax man? Warren Buffet made a big deal about not paying very much personal income tax, but then that's because he doesn't pay himself a salary. FYI He does pay cap gains tax and at the moment he's fighting the IRS in court because he feels he pays TOO MUCH.
@Senehtsotara what propaganda, No one wants to give away their money, the rich should pay less tax, do you know why because the 3 million people pay 1.7T$ of the the american 4t budget, that is not right, the RICH ARE OVER TAXED and you know it, im not a fan of romny but its not right that he paid 6 million in taxes, he is over bloody taxed, there should be a tax limit, people should only be able to pay a max tax of 100,000$ , its not right that the poor pay 5000$ and the rich pay 5millions
Who do the LYING politicians ALWAYS leave out that THEY were the ones that ALLOWED wall street to RUN amuck .. BERNIE IS A DEM that calls himself and independent...IF YOU WANT CAMPAIGN REFORM then work to end VOTER FRAUD...the favorite tool of the DEMS
@shortywheat I agree with you, at the same time some of the people I have talked to who say Paul/Grayson or Paul/Sanders, want those combos not because they think Alan Grayson or Bernie Sanders are right wing like Paul but because Grayson and Sanders are earnest, so that is what they are looking for. I am not sure but I think that with such a ticket they would get the best of the left and the right
THERE IS NO DEMOCRACY ITS A LIE - ANY PARTY YOU VOTE FOR ARE THE SAME -THEY ARE DICTATED TO BY THE BANKS - GOVERNMENT HAS BECOME A SHADOW CAST OVER THE PEOPLE BY BIG BUSINESS AND BANKS TO ENSLAVE THE PEOPLE -THE MOST ENSLAVED PEOPLE ARE THOSE THAT BELIEVE THEY ARE TRULY FREE -YOU - ME - THIS IS DONE BY PRETENDING WE HAVE DEMOCRACY
Gary Johnson is the best presidential candidate for the american people. He has the most logical and ethical economic solutions for this nation as a whole. I ask that you at least research him, and if you do not, if I did know you, I'd have to ask, why are you voting when you do not have all the facts? Why vote only for your own sake instead of for the sake of our nation and the greater good? Take some time and read, and see what else is out there? besides what the media tells you
OWSis...no need to depend on AIPAC CONTROLLED MEDIA.. They are treating us as " Defamed, Pathetic lossers"....OWS TV channel needs to be started on our own......lets do it OWS News Channel....
CAPITALISM was designed only for CORRUPT OPPORTUNISTIC MANIPULATIVE LAZY POLITICIAN. BANKERS. LAWYERS. DRUG LORDS. JUDGES. TERRORIST. ELITE CRIMINALS. DICTATORS. RULERS. KING. SULTANATE. EMPEROR etc. etc..
PEACE LOVING HAPPY HONEST SOCIETY must survive. FREEDOM..!!!

BURN THE BANKS. BURN DRUG LORDS ALIVE & OCCUPY THE WORLD...!!!
BURN THE BANKS. BURN DRUG LORDS ALIVE & OCCUPY THE WORLD...!!!
Has Obama gone mad and hiding in a bunker ? Why is he doing nothing to protect the protesters who have every right to do so ? We all hope that he is not supporting the corrupt Wall Street lobbyists but his actions say that he does one hundred percent and does not care about the people of America at all.
Senator Sanders, With all due respect, without addressing our need to create high paying careers, to get our birth rate up and to increase immigration, we cannot achieve what we need though the Occupy Wall Street movement. I have been on the OWS forum. It is wall to wall Marxist Socialists; calling for a new Constitution, a new Government. They are calling for an Arab Spring revolution. Clearly, threatening an end to our lawful Government is not constructive and should promptly end. MJ
@shortywheat Oh touche sir, like I said, not a republican, i mention him only because he is by far the best republican candidate. Let's get Obama out, and Sanders in. But at least, with everything going on, I don't think the republicans or Obama stand much of a chance anyways
These protesters are just looking for handouts. I bet they're not even employed. You don't go out looking for a job dressed like that; on a weekday? I didn't blame anyone for the loss of my legs, some chinaman took them from me in Korea, but i went out an achieved anyway. I can not solve their problems, only they can. Condolences, but the bums lost. My advice to these people is to do what their parents did, and get a job. The bums will always lose. They're acting like I peed on their rug.
@MoldytoasterMedia how can I be happy and enjoy life with everything that's been going on? it's a bit simplistic, selfish and irresponsible don't you think? just sit back and enjoy the ride to a third world country state where we going while finance crooks ruining this country and corrupting the government? I don't want to sleep on the street and getting pepper sprayed, but I don't wanna be living in the country where unemployment is sky high and home foreclosures are daily occurrence.
@MoldytoasterMedia Yeah, end? What's your point? America is not some crappy third world country. We Americans pride ourselves on constantly improving our society and quality of our life. We beat Vietnam War, got rid of racism, brought social justice towards women and minorities, organized unions and gave rights to workers. We, as a nation, fight inequality and injustice all the time. We don't sit back and just take the shit. It's not an American way. Now it's Wall Street's turn to get fixed.
@MoldytoasterMedia And it's gonna get fixed despite what you and others say about this protest and protesters. I bet people were against fighting racism too back in the day. Didn't matter, good always prevails. Your BS cliches about "Dirty hippies get a job" is just like "dirty Negroes get back to the end of the bus"! You're gonna fail and bad old ways are gonna change to better whether you want it or not. It's always been that way.
@MoldytoasterMedia impatient fucking asshole, you don't even deserve to live in a country which has owed so much to struggle, not state "gifts" to people, but violent revolution and protests where people died for what they believed in to help the rest, you are a pathetic cunt. If SOPA gets rejected, if the bankers get punished, and so on people will remeber these protesters, as they are, and not Moldy toast media.
@MoldytoasterMedia SOPA, BACKED BY WEALTHY HOLLYWOOD LOBBYISTS, MPAA AND SO ON, TO SHUTDOWN FREEDOM OF INTERNET, USING POLICE TO RAID MEGAUPLOAD OFFCIES. OCCUPY WALLSTREET PROTESTING POWER OF FINANCE AND LOBBYING ON SOCIETY WITHOUT PROPER REPRESENTATION AND PROTESTING AGAINST THE LOOTING OF TEH TAXPAYER AGAINST GOVERMENT BAILOUTS OF CORPORATIONS THAT FAILED (THEY FAILED ITS THEIR FAULT THATS CAPITALISM WE SHOULDNT BAIL THEM OUT) THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED BY POLICE BEING PAID OFF
@MoldytoasterMedia and besides, wait what I am doing with someone called "MoldyToastmedia" who probably lives in his mother's basement making some weird ass videos instead of realising what is going on with his own country, I am british yet I am more aware of what is happening.
@dr1345 "The bad old ways"?... Do you realize how NEW concepts like individual liberty and personal property rights for ALL people are? Free-market capitalism has raised the living standards for the average person to levels never before seen in human history, and yet you're convinced it's terrible and you want to get rid of it? You're insane, and you're the perfect tool for those who will oppress you. You're begging to be put into chains because you've convinced yourself that freedom is slavery.
@eluminated Protesting the corrupting influence that excessive money has in our political process is not logically equivalent to having the state make our shoes. Besides, your "free-market capitalism" doesn't exist. Real capitalism, as in the political economy of the US, is imperialistic and at moment is actually lowering our standard of living. Get a grip. The only ones around here who are tools are you guys parroting your nonsense.
@dr1345 dude! so good seeing someone else that sees the same symmetry as me... I use the Negroes as an example too, witches, jews, etc... same thing, people believe they can dismiss a whole movement with a few cliché labels.
These are ppl that lack any type of critical thinking, they call ppl in the movement lazy and yet they are too lazy to understand the movement properly.
Too big to fail banks are too big to exist. The largest banks (investment banks) have become manipulators of the stock market. They create economic bubbles and burst them to enrich the 1% at the expense of the 99%. There are simple solutions to this problem but the 99% are not adequately represented in American government. If the 99% Revolution can survive as a true people's movement until the 2012 elections, America government can be taken away from the 1% and returned to the 99%. VOTE4DEMS
@binderroad I did vote Obama and he turned out to be another corporate whore. He didn't do anything he promised during his term and in fact made matters worse. He's just like a sock puppet that gives great speeches but that's about it. They all bought by Wall Street, republicans and democrats.

you see people, DO YOU SEE?? "verifiednews and barsense" are arguing in circles rather than actually accomplishing something, THEIR argument is the fucking perfect example of the U.S. government ARGUING OVER STUPID BULLSHIT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING, the REAL issue is taking bickering idiots like them and u.s. government officials out into the streets and just shooting them and THAT will end the problem, and YES it will work, because they will be GONE... FOREVER
@daraleekmyballz Death is definitely forever, so yes, that would have an immediate impact. It shouldn't have to come to that, though. If people, all people, got off their asses and took to the streets, change would come. Read about what happened in the 1890s and 1930s. Socialism isn't all that bad when we're talking about basic necessities people need (health, education, roads, etc...). To argue that socialism will ruin the country is just another misdirection attempt by those in power.
To understand the happenings of today we must study the past. This study begins with Rothschild. After taking control England's central bank they are quoted with saying it matters not who makes the laws as long as I control the money supply. You'll encounter Smedley Butler, Andrew Jackson, Lincoln and Russian czar Alexander, Bolshevik revolution, Garfield, Wilson, and you'll encounter Warburg, Rockefeller, eugenics, Nazi's,. Bush, De Beers, Morgan, + other well known names
if you are REALLY mad then its time you start throwing punches at these disgusting traitors who could care fucking less if you live or die just as long as they have your money, thats all they care about
i worked my ASS off to have a nice house and property like i do, but srsly i do sympathize with all of you, what these fuckers have done is criminal but come the fuck on, fucking 10 years of arguing in circles has made most of you fucking belly aching pussies broker than shit and im trying to spare you more suffering, its time to physically remove these fucking asshole if you REALLY want "change"
you think police officers will do ANYTHING for YOU, they dont serve United States anymore they serve the corporations and thats not going to change unless we physically get rid of them because they will NEVER stand down there is to much money for them to make to even BOTHER listening to the rest of you
@daraleekmyballz Too much money to make for the police? I think not. But you are right in saying that violence would get there attention. Thing is, I don't really agree with violence in the traditional sense of chaos. I would love to open the NYTimes one morning to read of sniper assassinations. Nice and clean. No 'violence'. Just take out the fucks who are the worst of 'em. I'd do it, but I am across the world in China.
And for the record, I am Canadian....but I have lived in the US and have seen first hand how their political system has gone WAY out of wack with how it was meant to be. Do you think Washington, Jefferson, et al would be supporting the government as it stands today? Fuck no. That's what they were fighting when they decided to kick England and the royals out of the States. We've come full circle. It's time for patriots to take back their country...and violence is one way to do it.
you people think they will arrest them, HA while you are all bitching they are stealing more and more of your money BY THE FUCKING DAY, every FUCKING day they are getting more and more of your money and you wanna know what they'll use that money for, they'll use it to buy these police officers and government officials and all the shit you all complain about and ALL the while you are all rotting, CMON WHERES YOUR FUCKING BALLS? if the rest of you get violent i will fucking eagerly join the fight
what these occupy wall street people should be screaming is "I sleep in a warm bed every night. Eat three meals a day, and have access to the internet. But my mother wont buy me an ipad. I AM THE 99%"
@daraleekmyballz I'm not going to call you a 'fucking idiot'. I doubt you are...but come on, man...we have a serious problem in the US financial and political systems. There is no right or left here...there is only America. We have to refuse to be suckered into this bickering between the two parties and do what's right for the country. If not, aren't we all 'anti-American'? Where's the logic or common sense? We need to work TOGETHER if we're going to solve these serious problems!
@Mike913123 i absolutely agree, BOTH parties democrat and republican, through there arguing in circles THEY have caused this problem and once again arguing in circles will get us fucking nowhere, actual physical violence WILL, im not talking about unbridled rage or looting neighbors or any of that shit, im talking about physically arresting the ones who caused all of this because the fucking police WILL NOT arrest them, fucking cmon how blind is everyone? are you all ACTUALLY serious?
Watch this video as I have predicted & documented the corporate makeover of the NYC Landscape. This didn’t happen overnight!
“The Urban Eye” Fits in with the OCCUPY WALL STREET movement "Join your host Jerry Rio as he takes you on a nostalgic tour as he explores the disappearing icons of this metropolis and find out what New Yorkers think about unchecked development and the corporate homogenization that has altered and destroyed much of the uniqueness of the New York City landscape"
@daraleekmyballz violent revolution leads to violent oppression in a cyclical fashion. peaceful civil disobedience has garnered more results than any other form of protest the world has known. MLK, Gandhi, etc. Peace breeds peace while violence begets violence.
@Cole15Magic tell that shit to libya and egypt you fucking idiot, you know these assholes are just going to continue to argue in circles and lemme tell you they already have your fucking money, they are laughing at these idiots, you RLY think they are going to cave to a bunch of dumbass idiots who refuse to get a job? HA i dont think so, i have a job im paying my bills so what the fuck is there problem??
@Cole15Magic see the issue here is nobody wants to work for anything they just want it handed to them and if your not willing to fight for what you preach well then i guess your not really mad are you, they are just a fucking joke, i hope the cops kick the fucking shit out of them and throws them in jail
@Cole15Magic dont tell me what you THINK you know because in reality you dont know shit you fucking lazy ass douche, i bet your mom pays for your internet you fucking lazy ass good for nothing bum
@Cole15Magic its funny your gay little comment doesnt mention how effective the violent french revolution was, you need to do some more reading you fucking idiot
@Cole15Magic and another thing MLK i can agree that he was peaceful but gandhi was a fucking racist piece of shit, dont ever mention him again, find someone else other than gandhi to mention
Banks pushed out millions of bubble gum-loans/candy knowingly would sour and homeowners would eventually face foreclose. 2002 FBI warred congress what would happen, however, corporate profit verses the people won. Banks put our/their mortgages into scams which Wall Street fabricated to strip the world from it’s cash. World banks lost over one-hundred and fifty quadrillion dollars and not even the U.S. Federal reserve bank can bail them/us out. Your children’s dreams are in the toilet.
AUDIT THE FEDERAL RESERVE AND YOU WILL FIND THAT IN FACT THIS COUNTRY IS NOT BROKE IT HAS BEEN ROBBED BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE! WE NEED TO PUSH THIS BIG TIME PEOPLE! WE NEED TO FIND OUT WHERE OUR MONEY IS!
Obama got more Wall street money than any presidential candidate in history, but I don't really see him as pushing some right-wing pro-corporate agenda. Of course, he's not anti-corporation. The unemployment rate is already very high, and people depend on corporations for jobs and health benefits, etc.
people notice that wall street runs government. tax cuts for the rich, wall street pay their elected representative. and we have a system that the rich, get richer and the poor are getting way poorer.. the rich are greedy and want to pay no taxes and idiot republican ideology is helping. the elite need to get taxed, the middle and poor classes can not pay even the wars.real history shows bush tax cuts dont gorw jobs.
Corporations buying influence to the degree they do is absolutely criminal to our republic. Funny though how bernie doesn't once mention how unions and advocacy groups do the EXACT same thing. They are just as guilty! So is the U.N, E.U, and NATO. All of these groups undermine the constitution, bill of rights, and declaration of indepence at every turn. Keep the discussion honest! If you don't like the influence, then do not allow any group to do it. Do not pick and choice who is guilty or not..
"If we are talking about the United States, as being a vital democracy, where ordinary people have the power to determine what happens, obviously you need real campaign finance reform. In my view, that means public funding of elections; getting corporate money out of the system. " - Senator Bernie Sanders
Senator you seem like an awesome guy but America should suffer some more for imposing it's own trade principles on other countries and declaring them to be fair. China currently owns you. Literally. Stop talking about fairness because the last time America did ANYTHING fair was when they got the fuck out of Vietnam. LONG LIVE THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA
The trade issue is a complicated one. If, as the Senator said, China is willing not only to use their cheap labor to produce solar panels at a low price, but they are also willing to build the buildings further subsidizing the cost of the panels, then why would we not buy them for 1/4 the price that we can produce them here? We would be fools not to. But of this I am not 100% sure. Are you?
@jbranstetter04 You are correct, it is obvious. We complain about them being cheap ( all chinese products) hurting our ecports, but everyone seems to not see that cheap stuff alows us to buy other items too, and our living standards rise. It is a minus, balanced with a plus.
@luvcheney1 No it doesn't in the end. cheap crap breaks too quick and you have to keep buying more and in the end you wind up spending more than if your choices had not been limited to cheap crap without having to drive miles or spend hours searching for quality products that are higher priced than they should be because that is the only way they can stay in biz. MUCH much BETTER to have compeititon among retailers that all sell quality products instead of cheap disposable crap.
@barsense You think there is a great opportunity to replace imports with higher price US made products. OK, fine! You and any other person, or corporation/ business/ start-up, is totally free to exploit this oversight. Out of GREED, because if you were right, they would make a lot of money. Funny how no greedy corp agrees with you.
@barsense If a US company can buy a big earth moving piece of equipment from China, subsidized by China, and of good quality, for 1/4 the cost of one made in the US, then is that not a good investment for the company and for the country?
@jbranstetter04 Of course, all Libs buy the most expensive products they can find, always shopping at Nordstroms, driving Ferraris, and eating at $100 a plate meals. We all know, the way to live better is spend all your money.
@luvcheney1 > Wow! all libs! funny how ppl view each other. Do you not have any liberal friends??? Even as a liberal, I have Repub friends even conservative friends & this liberal does nothing as you have described. As a single mom I do the best I can to provide for my son, life didn't turn out as I'd planned but, that doesn't mean I believe in spending all of my money, sometimes it means living from paycheck to paycheck just like a bunch of other ppl... & feeling fortunate to still have a job
@braithmorgan My comment was sarcasm. Obviously, people do NOT automatically buy the most expensive items they an find, because that leads to poverty, UNLESS you are already wealthy. Lib or Conservative. However, many folks think trade wars make sense. Tariffs, etc. That means they think paying more for things leads to prosperity.
@jbranstetter04 Not if it is their own company in China that they buy from LOL, which does happen a lot. Naturally I don't support ending all importing or globalizing I just support common sense protectionism such as China uses so that we can lesson the huge trade deficit we now face which does seriously harm AMERICA. I don't support dropping our standards to sweatshop wages in order to compete either.
@barsense Do you consider yourself a liberal? If so, then you a liberal and I a conservative, basically agree on this issue. I detest buying stuff made in Communist China, and my family can testify to that. But for my business I am forced to buy some products made in China because if I don't, I cannot compete. However, my personal tools are all made in America; I make extensive use of second hand stores and pawn shops.
@jbranstetter04 Same here, I buy American parts, tools, etc. make extensive use of second hand stores, pawn shops. China stuff just breaks to quick, I don't buy batteries from Walmart either they never last, I would rather spend more and get a battery that lasts much longer, plugs etc. same thing. For my biz I can buy American and I am glad, used to be a con , now I guess mostly I am just anti-con don't really know if I fit more in the left or center seems to VARY according to issues
@barsense I didn't notice that it was you, from the other video. Anyway, stay that way, open minded. I'm what is considered a conservative, but I will fight for idea's that originate on the left if I believe in them. I also willing to let long standing leftist policies stand if I believe that they're not doing too much damage to the country. Some leftist policies are actually good. Environmental policies come to mind, as long as they don't go too far, which is often the problem, going too far.
@jbranstetter04 I do agree that EPA / a lot of regs are taken to far but you should always check to see as many states including my repub state set thier reg rules more strict and encompassing more people than Federal regulation guidelines on some issues . All Federal does really is set basic minimum guidelines and on most issues it is up to the STATE whether they use Federal guidlelines or they are more lenient or less lenient. my repub state gives big biz a pass and hits small biz often
@barsense But if you really believe in the constitution and how things are supposed to work, then part of what you said is wrong. As to do with the EPA, their only concern should be pollution that extends beyond state lines, which a lot of it does, and that is why the EPA is very constitutional. However, they can go too far, just like any government agency. But to the point, there should not be any federal guidelines about pollution that stays within a state.
@jbranstetter04 I have to disagree, the purpose of the Federal government is to set a basic uniformity in laws among all that states. this is extensively explained in the Federalist letters our founding fathers wrote who wrote our Constitution explaining to the people why we needed our Constitution. I will copy and paste in the next 2 comments directly from our Constitution, it says that congress is to ensure that laws are generally uniform among the state very plainly and clearly.
@jbranstetter04 First where the duties of the Federal government are enumerated as to what they are required to do. ARTICLE ONE Section 8 number 14: To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces. I believe regulation of the land surely covers controlling polution and since it is such a broad statement can cover much more unless a majority of the states object and the supreme courts rules against.
@barsense With all due respect, "To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces", means that the federal government makes the laws for the military, which consists of the "land" forces (the Army), and the naval forces (the Navy). It has nothing to do with anything else. Where it states the power to "make Rules for the Government", that is to say that they make the rules for the federal government, not the for the states or the localities. This is all established.
@luvcheney1 Yes in this particular part of our Constitution since prior and after refer strictly to military I agree that in this case land would also be. But there are other parts of the Constitution that clearly show that congress has the authority to make general laws and rules regarding pollution or anything that affects the welfare of the people and/or Federal government land.
@luvcheney1 Because the Constitution set the checks and balance system for states and federal government to check and balance each other. It is a messy system at times with constant push and pull for power between state and federal but it is certainly better than NO checks and balance because then we would have tyranny.
@barsense ...The issue is criminal, No Checks and Balances, right now. If you don't see the tyranny before you, then you're just not getting it. I would suggest taking alittle time and catch up. The Constitution is nearly lost, thus you see alot of people saying, "I',m mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"
@barsense Why post, when you are NOT saying anything? The Constitution has words, and they mean something. You started this mess, "land and naval Forces", twisting it to mean the Federal Govt has the power to make whatever laws it wants regarding pollution controls. You are not in the least qualified to discuss the matter. You always are messing up everything. So, make specific statements, not "Constitution set the checks and balance system", and "constant push and pull for power". How profound
@luvcheney1 I agreed with your assessment on the land and naval issue so that is over and done with. Does not change the other statement I posted from our Constitution though that clearly does support my argument.
@barsense Which statement? "Does not change the other statement I posted from our Constitution though that clearly does support my argument. " It is always possible you did say something correct.
@VerifiedNews LOL. that was settled ago and I agree. But this IS talking about land,2: The Congress shall have Power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State
@barsense Ok, are you aware of the extend of the property of the United States? It owns the 10 sq mile area of washington DC, and federal lands. That's it. It extends its JURISDICTION into lands it doesn't own by CONTRACTS and TREATIES with the nation states that form the union.
So land that a state owns may end up under the jurisdiction of the US, if the Nation States accepts direct benefits (federal reserve funny money created by entering a number into a computer) from the US, inc.
@VerifiedNews It is pretty simple, our Constitition was designed to protect the rights of the people and to keep the country unified with basic uniformity in laws among all the states. There really is not anything to debate about on this issue. Our Constition set up the guidlelines for the central gov and state gov to balance and check each other. I don't care for more regressive state taxation, I prefer federal progressive taxation and that is all there is too it.
@jbranstetter04 ARTICLE IV SECTION ONE . And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.
And there is one more I will post. Basically the whole purpose of the Federal govenment is to ensure uniformity in laws among the states because that is how we remain united AS ONE COUNTRY instead of each state being it's own little country.
@barsense "The first section requires states to extend "full faith and credit" to the public acts, records and court proceedings of other states. Congress may regulate the manner in which proof of such acts, records or proceedings may be admitted." It is not as you imply, to make the states all the same, it is instead to make the states recognize the court rulings of each other. But this is still being interpreted by the US courts.
@jbranstetter04 Article iv Section three, 2: The Congress shall have Power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State.
@barsense This is very clear. It states that the federal government has the power to make rules and regulation over the land that it owns. It also states in the constitution that it has the power "To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over [Washington DC] and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be..." the federal government clearly does not have the authority to legislate over the people.
@jbranstetter04 REPUBLIC GOV =a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law DEMOCRATIC GOV =government by the people; especially: rule of the majority b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections
@barsense You are splitting hairs on this one. We are a Republic, or a democratic republic. The people vote for their representatives, and the the reps vote for the laws. That is the federal system. Some states such as mine allow the people to vote on laws as well as the legislature. And in my state the only way our constitution can be changed is by a vote of the people. The ignorant people included.
@jbranstetter04 I ask you to please read the three comments where I copy and pasted directly from our Constition and if you still disagree then please let me know and I will copy and paste from the Federalist letters that our founders of our Constition wrote explaining in more detail to the people how it was supposed to work and be interpreted where they explain the duty of the federal gov was to preserve a united country by ensuring a general uniformity in laws among the states.
@barsense The purpose of the federal government was varied. It was to deal with foreign policy. It was to coin money. It was to have a court system to deal with law that went beyond one state. It was to deliver the mail. I stated above about the conformity of laws, and the limited role it plays in that. I'm not sure where it is in the constitution, but it also states that states cannot make laws that treat the citizens of different stated differently. The federal purpose is not to make our laws.
@jbranstetter04 I also ask that you compare the definition I copy and pasted of republic form or government and then of democratic form of government. Then tell me what YOU think the difference is. I hope you don't mind me asking you to do all this. I will of course return the courtesy if you wish to ask me to read something regarding our country and politics and give my opinion.
@luvcheney1 I'm in construction, but I do my companies office work as well. I sometimes look at a box of paper clips that I buy and notice that they are made in China. I think how bad that is, that our manufacturing jobs are moving out of the country. But then I think of the whining youth of the country today, and I wonder if they would even work in a paper clip manufacturing factory. I think they see themselves as too good for that. Do they also want to weave hats and make t-shirts?
@luvcheney1 The big problem I see with China is that they are Communist and a potential military threat to us in the future. I have never liked buying products from there for that reason. We should give trading advantages to India, Mexico, etc, countries that do not threaten us. I realize that China is a very big market that for the last 100 plus years western countries, including us, have been salivating at the chance to gain access to, but at what cost?

House Republicans ran on job creation.
But then they turned around and filibustered the Jobs Act, which independent analyses showed would reduce unemployment by at least a full percentage point. And that’s not just math; it is people’s lives.
Throw out all job-killing Republican hypocrites in 2012!
Senehtsotara 3 months ago
According to The Wall Street Journal, even 68% of millionaires say they should pay higher taxes. It's only the idiot Republicans who are against this, in the name of voodoo economics and plain mean-spiritedness . . .
Senehtsotara 4 months ago 5
@Senehtsotara
Has nothing to do with just Republicans. It is people from both parties. You should reconfigure your thought process to be less ignorant.
skorgelock 3 months ago
@Senehtsotara Those millionaires are free to pay as much taxes as they like. They can give it ALL to the gov if they so choose, nothing's stopping them. Michael Moore, for instance, is a multi-millionaire. How much extra does he donate to the tax man? Warren Buffet made a big deal about not paying very much personal income tax, but then that's because he doesn't pay himself a salary. FYI He does pay cap gains tax and at the moment he's fighting the IRS in court because he feels he pays TOO MUCH.
eluminated 3 months ago
@Senehtsotara what propaganda, No one wants to give away their money, the rich should pay less tax, do you know why because the 3 million people pay 1.7T$ of the the american 4t budget, that is not right, the RICH ARE OVER TAXED and you know it, im not a fan of romny but its not right that he paid 6 million in taxes, he is over bloody taxed, there should be a tax limit, people should only be able to pay a max tax of 100,000$ , its not right that the poor pay 5000$ and the rich pay 5millions

You're begging to be put into chains because you've convinced yourself that freedom is slavery.
eluminated 3 months ago
@eluminated Protesting the corrupting influence that excessive money has in our political process is not logically equivalent to having the state make our shoes. Besides, your "free-market capitalism" doesn't exist. Real capitalism, as in the political economy of the US, is imperialistic and at moment is actually lowering our standard of living. Get a grip. The only ones around here who are tools are you guys parroting your nonsense.

Are you?
jbranstetter04 5 months ago
@jbranstetter04 You are correct, it is obvious. We complain about them being cheap ( all chinese products) hurting our ecports, but everyone seems to not see that cheap stuff alows us to buy other items too, and our living standards rise. It is a minus, balanced with a plus.
luvcheney1 5 months ago
@luvcheney1 No it doesn't in the end. cheap crap breaks too quick and you have to keep buying more and in the end you wind up spending more than if your choices had not been limited to cheap crap without having to drive miles or spend hours searching for quality products that are higher priced than they should be because that is the only way they can stay in biz. MUCH much BETTER to have compeititon among retailers that all sell quality products instead of cheap disposable crap.
barsense 5 months ago
@barsense You think there is a great opportunity to replace imports with higher price US made products. OK, fine! You and any other person, or corporation/ business/ start-up, is totally free to exploit this oversight. Out of GREED, because if you were right, they would make a lot of money. Funny how no greedy corp agrees with you.
luvcheney1 5 months ago
@barsense If a US company can buy a big earth moving piece of equipment from China, subsidized by China, and of good quality, for 1/4 the cost of one made in the US, then is that not a good investment for the company and for the country?
jbranstetter04 5 months ago
@jbranstetter04 Of course, all Libs buy the most expensive products they can find, always shopping at Nordstroms, driving Ferraris, and eating at $100 a plate meals. We all know, the way to live better is spend all your money.
luvcheney1 5 months ago
@luvcheney1 > Wow! all libs! funny how ppl view each other. Do you not have any liberal friends??? Even as a liberal, I have Repub friends even conservative friends & this liberal does nothing as you have described. As a single mom I do the best I can to provide for my son, life didn't turn out as I'd planned but, that doesn't mean I believe in spending all of my money, sometimes it means living from paycheck to paycheck just like a bunch of other ppl... & feeling fortunate to still have a job
braithmorgan 4 months ago
@braithmorgan My comment was sarcasm. Obviously, people do NOT automatically buy the most expensive items they an find, because that leads to poverty, UNLESS you are already wealthy. Lib or Conservative. However, many folks think trade wars make sense. Tariffs, etc. That means they think paying more for things leads to prosperity.
luvcheney1 4 months ago
@jbranstetter04 Not if it is their own company in China that they buy from LOL, which does happen a lot. Naturally I don't support ending all importing or globalizing I just support common sense protectionism such as China uses so that we can lesson the huge trade deficit we now face which does seriously harm AMERICA. I don't support dropping our standards to sweatshop wages in order to compete either.
barsense 5 months ago
@barsense Do you consider yourself a liberal? If so, then you a liberal and I a conservative, basically agree on this issue. I detest buying stuff made in Communist China, and my family can testify to that. But for my business I am forced to buy some products made in China because if I don't, I cannot compete. However, my personal tools are all made in America; I make extensive use of second hand stores and pawn shops.
jbranstetter04 5 months ago
@jbranstetter04 Same here, I buy American parts, tools, etc. make extensive use of second hand stores, pawn shops. China stuff just breaks to quick, I don't buy batteries from Walmart either they never last, I would rather spend more and get a battery that lasts much longer, plugs etc. same thing. For my biz I can buy American and I am glad, used to be a con , now I guess mostly I am just anti-con don't really know if I fit more in the left or center seems to VARY according to issues
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense I didn't notice that it was you, from the other video. Anyway, stay that way, open minded. I'm what is considered a conservative, but I will fight for idea's that originate on the left if I believe in them. I also willing to let long standing leftist policies stand if I believe that they're not doing too much damage to the country. Some leftist policies are actually good. Environmental policies come to mind, as long as they don't go too far, which is often the problem, going too far.
jbranstetter04 4 months ago
@jbranstetter04 I do agree that EPA / a lot of regs are taken to far but you should always check to see as many states including my repub state set thier reg rules more strict and encompassing more people than Federal regulation guidelines on some issues . All Federal does really is set basic minimum guidelines and on most issues it is up to the STATE whether they use Federal guidlelines or they are more lenient or less lenient. my repub state gives big biz a pass and hits small biz often
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense But if you really believe in the constitution and how things are supposed to work, then part of what you said is wrong. As to do with the EPA, their only concern should be pollution that extends beyond state lines, which a lot of it does, and that is why the EPA is very constitutional. However, they can go too far, just like any government agency. But to the point, there should not be any federal guidelines about pollution that stays within a state.
jbranstetter04 4 months ago
@jbranstetter04 I have to disagree, the purpose of the Federal government is to set a basic uniformity in laws among all that states. this is extensively explained in the Federalist letters our founding fathers wrote who wrote our Constitution explaining to the people why we needed our Constitution. I will copy and paste in the next 2 comments directly from our Constitution, it says that congress is to ensure that laws are generally uniform among the state very plainly and clearly.
barsense 4 months ago
@jbranstetter04 First where the duties of the Federal government are enumerated as to what they are required to do. ARTICLE ONE Section 8 number 14: To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces. I believe regulation of the land surely covers controlling polution and since it is such a broad statement can cover much more unless a majority of the states object and the supreme courts rules against.
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense With all due respect, "To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces", means that the federal government makes the laws for the military, which consists of the "land" forces (the Army), and the naval forces (the Navy). It has nothing to do with anything else. Where it states the power to "make Rules for the Government", that is to say that they make the rules for the federal government, not the for the states or the localities. This is all established.
jbranstetter04 4 months ago
@barsense land and naval forces????? Army, Navy? Get it? Oy vey!
luvcheney1 4 months ago
@luvcheney1 luv land is not combined with navy LOL land is one issue government is another and navy it the last issue GET IT ???????????
barsense 4 months ago
@luvcheney1 Yes in this particular part of our Constitution since prior and after refer strictly to military I agree that in this case land would also be. But there are other parts of the Constitution that clearly show that congress has the authority to make general laws and rules regarding pollution or anything that affects the welfare of the people and/or Federal government land.
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense "and rules regarding pollution or anything that affects the welfare of the people and/or Federal government land."
Anything? Gee, if "anything" is legal, why the hell make a Constitution?
luvcheney1 4 months ago
@luvcheney1 Because the Constitution set the checks and balance system for states and federal government to check and balance each other. It is a messy system at times with constant push and pull for power between state and federal but it is certainly better than NO checks and balance because then we would have tyranny.
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense ...The issue is criminal, No Checks and Balances, right now. If you don't see the tyranny before you, then you're just not getting it. I would suggest taking alittle time and catch up. The Constitution is nearly lost, thus you see alot of people saying, "I',m mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"
tctctctc4 4 months ago
@barsense Why post, when you are NOT saying anything? The Constitution has words, and they mean something. You started this mess, "land and naval Forces", twisting it to mean the Federal Govt has the power to make whatever laws it wants regarding pollution controls. You are not in the least qualified to discuss the matter. You always are messing up everything. So, make specific statements, not "Constitution set the checks and balance system", and "constant push and pull for power". How profound
luvcheney1 4 months ago
@luvcheney1 I agreed with your assessment on the land and naval issue so that is over and done with. Does not change the other statement I posted from our Constitution though that clearly does support my argument.
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense Which statement? "Does not change the other statement I posted from our Constitution though that clearly does support my argument. " It is always possible you did say something correct.

@luvcheney1 Look it up i the previous comments. I am tired of doing your work for you.

@barsense You could have mentioned the subject in the time you took to be rude.

@luvcheney1 Already did several times earlier to which you ignored and you were rude to me so I returned it.
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense Land and Naval Forces. they're talking about land forces dude, not the Land....
VerifiedNews 4 months ago
@VerifiedNews LOL. that was settled ago and I agree. But this IS talking about land,2: The Congress shall have Power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense Ok, are you aware of the extend of the property of the United States? It owns the 10 sq mile area of washington DC, and federal lands. That's it. It extends its JURISDICTION into lands it doesn't own by CONTRACTS and TREATIES with the nation states that form the union.
So land that a state owns may end up under the jurisdiction of the US, if the Nation States accepts direct benefits (federal reserve funny money created by entering a number into a computer) from the US, inc.
VerifiedNews 4 months ago
@VerifiedNews It is pretty simple, our Constitition was designed to protect the rights of the people and to keep the country unified with basic uniformity in laws among all the states. There really is not anything to debate about on this issue. Our Constition set up the guidlelines for the central gov and state gov to balance and check each other. I don't care for more regressive state taxation, I prefer federal progressive taxation and that is all there is too it.
barsense 4 months ago
@jbranstetter04 ARTICLE IV SECTION ONE . And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.
And there is one more I will post. Basically the whole purpose of the Federal govenment is to ensure uniformity in laws among the states because that is how we remain united AS ONE COUNTRY instead of each state being it's own little country.
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense "The first section requires states to extend "full faith and credit" to the public acts, records and court proceedings of other states. Congress may regulate the manner in which proof of such acts, records or proceedings may be admitted." It is not as you imply, to make the states all the same, it is instead to make the states recognize the court rulings of each other. But this is still being interpreted by the US courts.
jbranstetter04 4 months ago
@jbranstetter04 Article iv Section three, 2: The Congress shall have Power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State.
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense This is very clear. It states that the federal government has the power to make rules and regulation over the land that it owns. It also states in the constitution that it has the power "To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over [Washington DC] and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be..." the federal government clearly does not have the authority to legislate over the people.

@jbranstetter04 REPUBLIC GOV =a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law DEMOCRATIC GOV =government by the people; especially: rule of the majority b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense You are splitting hairs on this one. We are a Republic, or a democratic republic. The people vote for their representatives, and the the reps vote for the laws. That is the federal system. Some states such as mine allow the people to vote on laws as well as the legislature. And in my state the only way our constitution can be changed is by a vote of the people. The ignorant people included.
jbranstetter04 4 months ago
@jbranstetter04 I ask you to please read the three comments where I copy and pasted directly from our Constition and if you still disagree then please let me know and I will copy and paste from the Federalist letters that our founders of our Constition wrote explaining in more detail to the people how it was supposed to work and be interpreted where they explain the duty of the federal gov was to preserve a united country by ensuring a general uniformity in laws among the states.
barsense 4 months ago
@barsense The purpose of the federal government was varied. It was to deal with foreign policy. It was to coin money. It was to have a court system to deal with law that went beyond one state. It was to deliver the mail. I stated above about the conformity of laws, and the limited role it plays in that. I'm not sure where it is in the constitution, but it also states that states cannot make laws that treat the citizens of different stated differently. The federal purpose is not to make our laws.
jbranstetter04 4 months ago
@jbranstetter04 I also ask that you compare the definition I copy and pasted of republic form or government and then of democratic form of government. Then tell me what YOU think the difference is. I hope you don't mind me asking you to do all this. I will of course return the courtesy if you wish to ask me to read something regarding our country and politics and give my opinion.
barsense 4 months ago
@luvcheney1 I'm in construction, but I do my companies office work as well. I sometimes look at a box of paper clips that I buy and notice that they are made in China. I think how bad that is, that our manufacturing jobs are moving out of the country. But then I think of the whining youth of the country today, and I wonder if they would even work in a paper clip manufacturing factory. I think they see themselves as too good for that. Do they also want to weave hats and make t-shirts?
jbranstetter04 5 months ago
@luvcheney1 The big problem I see with China is that they are Communist and a potential military threat to us in the future. I have never liked buying products from there for that reason. We should give trading advantages to India, Mexico, etc, countries that do not threaten us. I realize that China is a very big market that for the last 100 plus years western countries, including us, have been salivating at the chance to gain access to, but at what cost?
