Is there any concert footage of black sabbath between 1971 and 1973? I see the paris show from 1970 and then the california jam from 74 but not much in between. Just curious
You can tell that the pic here is not from Cal Jam, because the monitors used there were by a company called Tycobrahe, but the ones in this pic say "Jands" on em
Every single good guitar riff, lick whatever has already been played. And played much better by a band called Black Sabbath. Every metal band copies them whether they know it or not. - Rob Zombie
Don't care what any1 says they will always be the best metal band fucking every bitches and if u disagree I live in baldwin park cali off ramona n the 605
Listen to these guys absolutely crush it. They were by far one of the most influential music groups ever. The entire band was incredible. as a gtr plyr i tend to gravitate to the guittar which ofcourse is so ahead of its time, iommi is the heaviest gtr plyr and riff writer ever. i have all of the respect in the universe for the greats who have played with ozzy since. but this was different. listen to ozzy's voice. full of passion and desperation yet happy almost manic. awesome, Sabbath.
Tomorrow's Dream, Sweet Leaf, Killing Yourself to Live, War Pigs, Snowblind, Sabbra Cadabra (with the whole guitar solo, interlude thing with "Sometimes I'm Happy", the drum solo a medley of Supernaut and Iron Man and then the reprise of Sabbra Cadabra), Paranoid, Embryo/Children of the Grave.
@slaybee01 Very well spoken. AIC and countless other bands have produced songs that give the same message about drugs...it's not all fun and games, and there's usually a "SOMEBODY FUCKING HELP ME" in there somewhere.
there was once a time when I found a recording of the entire caljam 74 show for black sabbath. I think it was a realplayer file. Anyway, i was never able to get it on anything and I dont think he website is around anymore
The picture is a stock picture, I think from 1973. I've used it on a few videos from the time period. The audio is from California Jam...ripped from the best circulating source of the show.
And yes, I've seen Allen's work. It's nice, but it still contains the same 4 Sabbath videos from that show that have circulated for years, although Allen's are of excellent quality.
Nevermind that I've heard Sabbath's California Jam set many times. I could identify a song from that show in my sleep.
@blacksabfan i was thinking didn't tony iommi wear that one blue shirt and he had no facial hair. and ozzy wore the white outfit with the purple glittery things up and down the arms???
It's sad to see all this hate toward coca in these comments. It's not Her fault if man can't seperate use and abuse. Don't forget Cocaine helped making these monumental records and if you haven't tried you just can't understand. Gods bless Sabbath. Peace.
As a former user of Cocaine, I can attest that this song in no way "glorifies" Cocaine. Only the misinformed believe in such fallacies. There is no way to "glorify" Cocaine, even for a user, but that's the thing about such an addiction you know in your mind your not the same, and you want to go back, but you get this strange sense that you really don't want to leave. For me, it was quite a complicated feeling. One, in which, I still sometimes struggle today with. Difficult to describe, really
man whether or not its cali jam or not stfu its black sabbath at there time respect it and worship there amazing work.. clearly were metal should be right now and thanks to sabbath we have metal. it does matter were it was all we know it was great
Nah. My BP is 112/62. At least it was when I got it checked 8 months ago. Probably lower than yours...
My only "problem" is that I have an extremely low tolerance for bullshit and stupidity. If they make meds for that, so I can better tolerate your bullshit, and other people's bullshit, please point them out to me.
But until then, my banning policy stands. I want my channel (unlike the rest of YouTube) to have a collective IQ of something higher than a piss-ant.
Scott Lifshine is probably the biggest idiot on the face of the earth. Considering that, that's quite the accomplishment. He drones on in a drug-like induced rant on several CalJam videos. For example, the Deep Purple vids come to mind. His drivel is a waste of time.
The songs about shooting cocaine. "icicles in my brain", "my eyes are blind but I can see", all symptoms of shooting up. I don't know how truthful the first comment is but going blind while the "train runs you over" is real. The song glorifies the use of cocaine and shows the darker side of addiction where the user doesn't want anyone to tell him he's doing himself harm.
Why would a song that supposedly "glorifies" the use of cocaine show the "darker" side of it?
I mean, in my mind, you'd be doing one or the other...not both...because they are two contradictory ideas. You don't talk about the bad things that occur if you glorify something. That doesn't even make sense.
That said, the song doesn't glorify the use of the drug. Sabbath used it, knew it effects, and wrote a song about it. They aren't telling people to go out and snort a bunch of cocaine...
When it came out , I know my me and my buddies didn't listen with a solemn look of sadness on our faces for the "poor coke head". We're right there with him screaming COCAINE like it's cool stuff to do. Glorification! By the lyrics, it's hard to say what the message really is. Look at Ozzy, you think he was ever an "anti-drug" rocker? What's he screaming to the audience in the beginning of the song? "Are you high?" The nature of this music is to cloud the truth and it does it well. Think. :)
Thats because stupid teenagers think like that, including myself when I was young...You're interpreting glorification when it's not there. If I go on a street corner and preach about how bad something is...whether it be cocaine, alcohol, war, etc...that doesn't mean I'm glorifying it. Now Sweet Leaf ("are you high"), that's another issue.
How about next time you answer me you focus on the glaring contradiction I pointed out in your first statement, instead of telling me to "think"...
And who cares what stance Ozzy had/has, that's irrelevant considering he didn't write the lyrics. Geezer did. Geezer knew the effects...Geezer probably did more cocaine than Ozzy in the 70s (he talks about it at length in a few interviews). He knew it had that initial effect, but was bad stuff...and eventually kicked the habit.
Nevermind though, I obviously don't think enough about this shit. I mean there's only millions that can't type a coherent sentence on here, and you tell ME to think...
Yeah, I admit. I'm a little upset. It's probably because you're a condescending, patronizing asshole (who thinks he's funny, but he's not) not to mention an idiot, and those things upset me. But don't worry. I deal with it. I just click on "Block User", and then I don't have to read your annoying bullshit anymore. It makes me feel better, and I can stop wasting my time on you, and dedicate it to people who actually appreciate what I do on here. Thanks for understanding.
Did you go snort Cocaine then? I listened to it when I was young and didn't make me go shoot up. Song is telling you what his experience with it is and how the addict denies his addiction :
"Don't you think I know what I'm doing, Don't tell me what I'm doing is wrong, You're the one who's really the loser. This is where I feel I belong."
Within the context of the song, makes sense for Ozzy to scream COCAINE since he's the addict. Up to individual to make his own choice.
definitel the same performace, unless Ozzy says "alright, everybody, let's go" in the EXACT same way every time they play this song... probably two different microphones...
Actually if you'd listen more closely, the song is saying the exact opposite. Much like songs such as "After Forever" and "Lord of this World" are actually warning people of Satan and how they should turn to God to be saved. Yet you religious types just think you know everything... don't you?
yeah it's prob the same recording. I haven't checked.. but i really think that someone has made that boot "bigger" (very common on old boots these days..)Outdoor shows are very "dry" you can wet them from the soundboard and it still sounds like this soundboard, dry as hell...
Let's give Scoytt Lifeshine crediyt. I only think iyt's right since he was there and he roycks!
